  • It was a very good.
  • The hotel did not have parking facilities nor would they validate parking deck ticket.

“The hotel was beautiful, with many historic features remaining. Crystal chandeliers in the lobby, elaborate (but small) elevators, etc. The room requested turned out to be a generously sized suite. However, the bed frame was broken, with a piece of wood laying next to the bed. The carpeting was also worn and stained, and there were rust spots in the bath rub. The rooftop pool was a nice touch. Beautiful view and clean, but was not kept stocked with towels. There was roadwork surrounding the hotel, so it was not very accessible (obviously not the fault of the hotel management/staff). My biggest complaint was that the hotel would not validate parking, which was a considerable expense, especially when the hotel across the street did validate parking.”

  • The door between our room and the room next door did not block noise.

“The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Room was a little small, but nice and clean. We had to pay for parking which was expensive. It is an older hotel and there was a door that connected our room and theirs that didn't block noise at all!”

  • Very clean, staff was friendly, very quietly, decor was very nice.
  • Very small swimming pool, parking lot was available, lobby was very small, hotel/room was very small.

“I was not happy with this hotel, parking lot was a block away, safe, but it belong to another hotel, you had to pay per 1/2hour every time left. The swimming pool area and pool was very small. The hotel was very clean, but I was very disappointed with the entire stay and would not stay at this hotel again. Hotel was very small. Thank you.”

“Nice place to stay if you are looking for a good downtown location. I stayed on the 4th of July and was able to walk from the hotel to the concert at the War Memorial park with ease. Was also able to walk to the ball parks and the arch.”

  • They did not pay attention to the details.

“Their attention to detail was lacking. It was the little things, the coffee maker did not work (they did replace it after we notified them); the phones were missing number covers so you could tell what you were dialing. We had to change rooms the first night because the TV did not work. The stay was just OK. The roof top pool was not open. We were simply under whelmed. The last thing is that the parking garage ($16 per day) was a block away.”

  • The rooms were great mini-suites. Loved the location of the hotel.
  • Several of the ice machines were broken and several stairwell doors were cracked.

“Overall it was a great hotel and a great experience. The rooms were very nice, but some of the public areas were in need of repair or updating. We were a bit disappointed that the pool area was not open for Memorial Day weekend.”

  • The housekeeping and general upkeep of the building is lacking.

“I would stay away from this hotel. They have parking that is not associated with it so you have to pay for in & outs. Our room was not cleaned until after 4:30 in the afternoon and the staff did a halfway job then. The urinal in the means room downstairs was missing. The elevators do not inspire confidence as being updated. The pool was not open in mid May.”

  • The room had lots of space and I did not feel cramped. The bed was very comfortable.
  • Parking was horrible with poor access to hotel. Renovation going on. Would have been nice to know.

  • TV didn't work, light bulb out in bathroom, coffee maker didn't work, walls very thin very noisy.

  • When we told the staff we were on our honeymoon, they upgraded our room to the Presidential suite with no extra charge to us.
  • There was no mini fridge available in the room, temperature in bedroom was too warm even after turning down.

“When first getting to the hotel I was kind of apprehensive due to the location of the hotel and the fact that construction was going on around the hotel. The staff was very friendly though. When we told them that it was our honeymoon they congratulated us and told us they were going to upgrade our room with no extra charge to us. We didn't expect anything like that and thought that was very generous. There were a few small things that we did not like about the hotel such no mini fridge available in the room, although we could rent one for $10 per night which I did not feel was worth the price. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner but overall our stay was enjoyable and we would stay there again.”

  • Very small, and obviously rarely used room. Water was always all over the bathroom floor. Ran out of toilet paper. Terrible Parking & construction.

“The hotel outside, and lobby was beautiful. We didn't even have places to put our 2 suitcases without physically moving the desk to a corner. The TV & phone worked very poorly all week. No continental breakfast. Our shower curtain was 1 foot too short length wise, and a foot too short width wise. Water was constantly all over the floor and when told hotel staff they said they would fix it and give us more towels. By fixing it, the same curtain remained and we received fewer towels than we started with. I was very disappointed with the stay. We came to St. Louis to relax. We spent very little time in our hotel room because it was very hard to relax. If we had children it would have been impossible, especially with the tiny shower. For business, if you could meet with clients on a bed, it would have been perfect. I would not stay at this hotel again. I will be very unlikely to stay at any Wyndham Owned Hotel again.”

“We had been traveling the day before and were very tires, the construction was so loud we couldn't sleep, very annoying. The area in front of the bed had a wall TV - it was so small we had to angle ourselves to get through - very tight. The bathroom was extremely small too. We just weren't expecting it to be that small.”

  • Modern Decor made it feel like home. Very comfortable, almost didn't want to leave the room!
  • Location was a little further away than we were used to, but worth it. Parking was expensive with no in/out privilege

“The moment we opened the door to our room our chins dropped. What a GREAT, BEAUTIFUL hotel. The rooms are very modern and include two flat screen large TV, a separate sitting area, large bathroom, and overall very comfortable; it made you feel as if you were staying in someone's home rather than a hotel. The bed is amazingly comfortable we had a hard time crawling out in the morning! I'm a frequent business traveler and dream of all hotels being this comfortable! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful throughout the entire busy weekend it was a Cubs/Cards series weekend, so people were constantly coming and going. Parking would be the only downfall of this hotel. It's a little expensive, with no in/out privileges. The garage belongs to another hotel in the area, and it is about a block away. We have already looked into staying here for our next trip to STL next month, and have told several friends to do the same!”

  • Had problems with remotes for both TV & toilet over flowing & construction noises.

“This hotel is a very peaty older hotel. That has been redone, but they are still having some problems with little things like remotes. We also had a problem with the desk calling and asking if our floor in the bathroom was wet or if anyone was using the restroom, because they was having a leak somewhere else. At that time there was not water on the floor or anything. When my husband went to use the restroom, that is when the toilet started over flowing and it took a good 15 min. For someone to get up there and they another 10 min for house keeping to come in and clean up the mess. So I am not for sure why they would rent a room that they know that has problems with its plumbing. Right now there is a lot of construction noise. When this is done this hotel will be better for it with less noise.”

  • I liked the friendly staff.
  • With having nice plasma TVs, the channels were horrible in reception and choice.

“We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the time we did eat breakfast the food was good and service nice. My only drawback at this time is the rooms have these beautiful large screen plasma TVs and a limited channel base to choose from, plus the local channels were coming in fuzzy and not easy to watch at all. Thank you!”

“The hotel stain glass windows and wood craftsmanship was beautiful. The original restored elevators was exciting to think back in time. The 1 bedroom rooms were not spacious, but the double bedrooms were nice. Flat screen TV's were nice, but too big for the rooms. Enjoyed the good bathroom toiletries for a change. The staff was kind & helpful. Over all; it was a good stay for a short trip. Negative: no parking at the hotel and no smoking rooms.”
