- We loved the space and arrangement of the bathroom as well as the comfort of the bed/pillows.
- The hallways were a little humid/warm.

“We went to see the cardinals play. Even though we were within reasonable walking distance. I would have like to have been closer (especially since it rained). Don't know how I could have narrowed my search. We were told by locals not to walk back to the hotel at night. other than that we were satisfied.”

- Friendliness of the entire staff. Everyone wanted to bend over the line in customer service.
- Parking was way over priced and not convenient for the senior.
“From the time we checked in, to the secure locked, hall ways to enter the hotel elevator area, to the sparkling clean fresh smelling rooms, I was awestruck for the dollars we had to pay. Do not drink the water by the TV. It is four dollars a pop, and call ahead to find the best lot to park in or you will be gouged for several tens of dollars per night. Valet was neat and the cold bottle of water waiting in the front seat was awesome, but an eight hour park was twenty four dollars plus a tip. It was ok the first day, but got old after the third day ah! Loved the shopping area and the array of fine foods and fun and the old station.”

“Employees were very friendly, helpful and nice. Room was nice but maybe a little dated for a 4 star. Think they are 4 stars because the offer valets parking. Room service was good but they did not offer a free complimentary breakfast in the morning which was disappointing since there were several different types of restaurants available (since they are attached to a Mall) but not a breakfast type restaurant. Also they charged for internet use.”

- Staff were very helpful and polite.
- It is safe for folks with strollers (myself) and I cant imagine how a person in a wheelchair would be able to quickly find their way out or from one.
“The hotel was very nice. We were lost for 15 minutes in the basement because there was no clear way for us to get a stroller and all of our things to the main entrance. There were no clear directions posted. If there were safety evacuation plans posted, I didn't see them so they need to be more visible. We finally were able to eat at about 8 p.m. and by then our dinner was cold and we could not figure out how to get back down to the level with the Mexican restaurant. All in all it was a very stressful stay due to an inconvenience factor.”

- Like that the area to rooms couldn't be accessed without a room key.
- The elevators sounded bad and could use some maintenance.
“This hotel has the worst parking situation. Being Downtown on street parking, to say the least, is difficult to find. It almost forces you to use to valet which is $25 per day. Hotel is close to everything that we wanted to do/go. The exception being when we went to six flags which is roughly 30 minutes away (give or take a few). It was nice having all the shops and restaurants in the hotel.”

- No mini bar; appeared unsafe area w/panhandlers.
“The room was clean and spacious; and bed was comfortable. View was fairly nice looking into courtyard; decor was pleasant. Unfortunately the mall in which the hotel is located had quite a few panhandlers. In fact, one approached me while I was paying for a purchase in a store! There were security gates for guests' access to room floors direct from the mall. Your room key opened the gate. But this didn't appear too secure as I noticed people holding the gate open for a person who approached and appeared to be a guest. But who knows?”

- Our room was so far away. It was the last room through the hotel.
“The hotel lobby is amazingly beautiful. The historical lobby is beyond words. We felt safe but hated how far our room was away from the main portion of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable but for a upscale hotel, not as special as we have been in previously. The room was a comfortable size. We had to pay $28.00 for parking, extra for internet which is usually free at other hotels.”

- The atmosphere was great and the valet men were most courteous and helpful!
- It took hours to get online from my laptop, which completely altered my schedule.
“With the exception of my awful experience with the internet connection, I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. The ambience and decor made us feel as if we had traveled far away. The location was convenient for Downtown St. Louis but valet is a must, especially in bad weather. The parking lot is across the street and you have to walk through the mall to enter the hotel room area. Overall it was a nice and comfortable experience. 3-stars!”

- It was located in a gorgeously renovated, historic building, and it had tons of staff to do.
- Self-parking was a tad inconvenient, especially because it was uncovered and it rained all weekend.
“There are little shops, a food court, and major chain restaurants attached to this hotel, which is in the renovated Union Station in St. Louis. I lived near St. Louis for five years and often visited, but this was surprisingly, the first time I'd been to the hotel (and to Union Station). It was a destination in itself, actually. I really couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised.”

- Great if you like a downtown crowd, noisy since it is in a public area, the depot makes the room noisy. You hear people talking all night long.

- The lobby had a beautiful stained-glass window.
- Broken coffee maker in room, broken hairdryer, and noisy fan in the heat/AC.
“I will never stay here again. I had to walk 10 minutes to get from the parking lot to my room, very inconvenient. Everything in the room was falling apart. The hairdryer would overheat and quit after 60 seconds, there was a coffee-maker, but the carafe was gone and the remnants were tucked away in the closet. The fan on the a/c and heat was so noisy that I had to turn it off just to hear myself think. I suppose it could have been worse, but it sure as heck wasn't what I was expecting from a four-star hotel. They need to either spruce it up or reduce their star-rating.”

- It was a little far from the downtown area I had wanted.
“Very pleased with the price. The hotel met my standards in every way. A bit on the outskirts of the downtown area and no fast food near the hotel. We had to drive to find food at the end of a long night at the ball game. Staff recommended their restaurant only and room service was way too expensive. Overall, we would stay here again and the attached mall was nice.”

- The public areas are very nice.
- The room was small, no mini bar and curtains did not cover window.
“The public areas of this hotel are very nice, but it does not have an indoor pool or spa. The rooms are quite space and small (No mini bar, fridge, wet bar or sofa) for a 4 star hotel. The absolute worst thing was the window treatments did not cover the window and the sun came streaming in at 6 am.”

- The lobby and the check in.
- It was 3/4 of mile to downtown st. Louis, not downtown.
“One had to walked down 4 corridors just to get to a room that is not in the hotel area, but in a mall area. Check in staff was very friendly. It is way too far from downtown 3/4 mile to Busch Stadium to be considered a downtown hotel. The room was clean. No view what so ever.”

- Loved the fact that it was with Union Station.
- Self park was expensive and long walk.
“Overall very satisfied with the hotel. Very convenient with the mall and the restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out, very professional front desk help.”

- Staff was on top of things. Anything I needed, they were there. And quick too!
- The decor in the halls was a little dated and dizzying.
“The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The staff was wonderful and they did anything and everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The beds were amazing!”

- Convenience to local attractions and Downtown. Hotel has outstanding character and is superb!
- Rooms are somewhat older and outdated for the regular pricing of the hotel.

- Location.
- The bathroom was not very clean and the shower was terrible, and there was a lot of noise!
“I think that you should probably drop a star on this hotel. I was not very impressed. The lobby area was very neat and the room was fine but nothing special. The last 4 star hotel we stayed at was a lot nicer than this one.”
