• Bed was good.
• Mold in the shower, no ice in any machine.

“This is definitely not a 4 star hotel! There was mold in the shower, service was poor, and room not anything close to 4 star. It does have a very convenient location. I traveled a lot and am very generous with my praise but this hotel should be 3 star at best. There was no ice in 3 machines on our floor for all of the 3 nights I stayed, and then I couldn't get them to bring me any.”

• The rooms were very nice.
• The location of the room was far from elevator.

“I felt as if the hotel blocked out a section of rooms on the floor and then didn't service them. None of the ice machines on our floor were filled and we walked for over 1/2 hour trying to find ice.”

• My husband left is leather coat at the hotel. They shipped it to our home free of charge!
• The decor is somewhat dated.

• The outstanding service of the Concierge.
• No complaints at all.

“We celebrated the 2nd anniversary of my kidney transplant at the Hyatt St Louis Union Station. The concierge went over and above to make sure our room and our weekend was special. She truly made the experience unforgettable. Kudos to the Hyatt for finding such a gem.”

• The bar closed too early, even on weekend nights.

“Great location, lots to do with the mall located within the hotel. Clean and friendly atmosphere. The negative aspect of this hotel is their fee for valet parking for one night - $27.00, this price is absolutely outrageous!”

• We loved the beauty of the lobby; the original decor.
• The hotel should not charge for parking.

• The Bar - too small.

“Everything was great except when I arrived, their computer systems were down, so I went for a cocktail at the lobby bar. Drinks were over priced, I wasn't greeted, nor offered a snack bowl although others were. A friendlier bartender would have made it a perfect stay.”

• Historic nature of the hotel and its location near restaurants.
• Rooms were not set up well for traveler with computer.

“The Hyatt Union Station in St. Louis is a beautiful hotel located in the downtown area of the city. The hotel is on the national register of historic places and the historic portions of the hotel are elegant and charming. The newer portions of the hotel are more typical of upscale chain hotels in general. My only criticism of the newer portion of the hotel was that the rooms were not well configured for computer use. The staff was excellent and extremely helpful and professional in meeting all my requests. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to most classes of travelers.”

• I liked the historic decor, and built in shopping mall.
• Bad parking! Really bad parking options.

“Hotel was very nice with lots of historic decor. Nice shopping area on ground floor. Good central location to downtown area. I did not like the parking options. Very poor parking options. Overall, I give it a 9 out of 10.”

• Parking extra involved some walking to get inside and to room.

“Very nice, clean, friendly place and certainly in the middle of downtown St. Louis activities. The shopping and restaurants in Union Station were an extra bonus.”

• You have to pay $14 to park in the parking lot per day.

“Overall a good experience Good location, close to Busch Stadium which is why we went. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, plenty of good restaurants very close. A little pricey to park in their lot, but not terrible. Highly recommended.”

• Close (walking distance) to downtown, lots of restaurants and shops, secure.
• I prefer taking my own bags to the room and it was pretty hard to do that. Parking charges not expected.

• The setting was beautiful.
• The WiFi is not included and is over priced.

“The setting and decoration of the hotel, from the grand lobby all the way to the room, was fantastic. The rooms are very comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the internet service provided is $10 for 24 hours, which I think is over priced. Overall, I would stay there again, but I wish they would provide WiFi for their guests.”

• No whirlpool, price to park our vehicle for the stay.

“I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers, I would recommend using the 20th St. parking at $14.00 per day, rather than the valet at $27.00 per day.”

• Very large. It was a long walk from parking lot to room.

“The hotel was beautiful and within walking distance (less than 1 mile) of Busch Stadium. Friendly staff and very clean. It was huge so be prepared to walk a long distance to your room. Easy access to hotels and the Metro link. I would definitely stay there again!”

• It was connected to Union Station which had a lot of shops and fun places to eat.
• Our room smelt like cigarette smoke.

“The hotel is good. The parking is across the street which was not so great. It was not too far away but for a 4 star hotel you usually get parking that is better which feels a little safer.”

• Someone stole my money and the staff ignored me when I tried to report it.

“The staff was very sparse at the front desk. There was no one at the desk, when they came, they wrote my name and room down on a scrap piece of paper. They would not report it to security or look at cameras to get my money. I was ignored.”

• It was beautiful, and located right where we needed to be.
• A free breakfast would be ideal in a hotel of this caliber.

“This hotel was beautiful. It was located in an old train station that has been renovated into a mall with beautiful fountains and fish ponds. It is conveniently located near many St Louis attractions, including the Gateway Arch. I would however like to say that it would have made the stay just a bit nicer if a free breakfast was included. We stayed in a Drury Inn in Springfield for a bit less per night, and it was very clean and nice and we had a full hot breakfast, free evening specialty drinks, and a microwave and refrigerator in our room. Otherwise, this was a wonderful experience.”

• Room was tastefully decorated, bed and linens were plush, plasma TV with HD, pleasant, helpful staff always available.
• Would have liked a breakfast bar offered with the accommodations.

“The rooms were very attractive and the beds were very comfortable. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the front desk to the valet parking attendants. The attached shopping area was an added bonus. A breakfast bar would have been very appreciated and helpful based on our schedule. I would not only recommend this hotel, but would stay there again in the future.”

• I liked that the hotel was conveniently within walking distance to where we were going.
• Didn't like parking situation, either had to valet or park in mall parking lot and drag our luggage through the mall.

“This hotel is laid out like a maze, making it confusing to get to your room. The place was understaffed. The half eaten room service breakfast tray that was there when we arrived at 5 pm was still there when we checked out at 10 am the next morning. Parking is very expensive.”

• The public areas are gorgeous - excellent way to save an older train station!
• At check-in, the clerk was on the phone with a friend during the entire transaction.

“Public areas were beautiful and the metro link was very close. Having a variety of restaurants and stores available as part of the hotel complex was very convenient as well. We would have liked for the pool to have longer hours as we like having a morning swim or evening swim. Breakfast was good and the service there was friendly. Service at check-in left something to be desired as the clerk was on a personal phone call during the entire transaction.”

• The hotel did not have a sundries shop, but there was one in the mall.

• Location within the tourist area near shops and restaurants, Quiet and restful.
• Narrow dark halls, out-dated decor, coffee maker inconvenient, closet inconvenient.

“This hotel was most likely a 4 star hotel 15-20 years ago. We noticed lots of deferred maintenance and if it is to be consistent with the qualities of the 4 star it is badly in need of upgrading. Beds were quite comfortable but amenities were consistent with those of older out-dated hotels. WiFi is available but not free.”

• They had two computers in the lobby with free internet.
• Almost everything. The hallways were like a maze, the room was dirty, parking was expensive and inconvenient, we didn't have a fitted sheet on our bed!

“The place was great. The room was comfortable and clean and the bed slept like a dream. Being at St. Louis' Union Station made it nice, Landry's and Hard Rock are right there, it's a short walk to the Scott Trade Center, and the Light rail is across the parking lot. The staff is wonderful making sure you stay is just right.”

• Walking to Union Station through the hotel with the convenience of everything downtown.
• Loved everything about it.
