- The lobby area had a cute little restaurant.
- Our air conditioner in the room wasn't working properly.
“We traveled with our four kids and everything was great (except the room air conditioner). The hotel was very clean. I believe this place caters to the business traveler more so than families because we only saw one other family at the time (school was back in session and it was a week day), but we didn't feel anything but welcome. The little restaurant in the lobby was great and had Starbucks coffee.”

- The lobby was very clean and well kept. Very modern.
- The woman who checked us in was quite rude.
“My partner and I were traveling with a visitor from Ghana, age 16. We selected downtown as the location to pick our hotel but this was about 3 miles from downtown and was in a relatively borderline neighborhood. There were a lot of young boys hanging around the parking lot swearing and even many of the guests with crooked hats, pants hanging well below the buttocks, and over sized clothing. This is all fine and well but it was just that 90% of the people we saw were of this nature and the parking lot felt very unsafe. When we checked in, there were three of us and I asked the woman at the front desk if we could have a room with two beds. She said nope. We all looked at her absolutely astonished. She then offered a roll away bed and had it sent to the room. She was not polite in the least and certainly not welcoming. I don't believe she even checked to see if she had a room available with two beds.”

- Location and free parking!
“Good hotel. Nice inside. The king suite we stayed in had a memory foam bed. I am not a fan of those but I know most people are. We stayed for 2 nights and by the second night my back hurt. Not because it was poor quality but I just do not like memory foam. It is just personal preference. It was nice to try though. We loved the free parking and the location, it is close to union station but only within walking distance in the summer or spring. We traveled in February and chose to drive. Very easy to get around since it is right on market street and a lot of other things are. We would stay again.”

- The pool was nice, the placement of the hotel was good.
- The temperature in the room was either to cold or to hot/breakfast was the worst.
“The hotel was under construction. We did not think that would interfere with the breakfast and was not prepared. My daughter did not get a good breakfast before her performance and we had to eat out of coffee cups to even get anything to eat. The rooms are nice and the pool and hot tub was nice and big. The room temp was hard to maintain during the night.

- The hot tub didn't work and the pool was a bit small for the hotel size.
“Overall it was very nice, the only bad points were that the elevators and stairs were a bit far would be a far walk for elderly or handicap people. Rooms were very nice and had a separated bath and toilet from the sink, which was nice cause there were 2 adults and 3 children. Rooms were very spacious for the 5 of us.”

- The whirlpool was out of service during our entire stay.
“The hotel was very clean and attractive. Our room was small yet, comfortable for all 4 of us. The bed was very comfortable and the children slept well on the hide a bed. I was disappointed to find out that there was a charge for the breakfast. However, we did decide dine at the hotel and everyone in the family was pleased with the breakfast buffet. The breakfast staff was particularly helpful and kind. We were disappointed that the hot tub was out of service during our entire stay. On our second evening there, I thought the pool could have been more clean.”

- Although obviously renovated, the hotel was clean and attractive.
- The quality of the "cooked to order" breakfast was not as good as other Marriott facilities I've enjoyed.
“The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The quality of the food (not the selection, but the actual quality of kitchen-prepared meat, eggs and potatoes) was sub-par for what I've come to expect from Courtyard by Marriott in other locales. Both the variety and quality of breakfast items left something to be desired. Overall, our stay represented a good value.”

- One of the evening staff was EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful.
“This hotel is only a few blocks from Union Station and the Metro Link. I felt very secure being close to the Police & FBI stations as well. Everything was quite clean, neat and aesthetically pleasing. There was no fridge or mini-bar, but food was available at the front desk at mini-bar prices. Almost everyone was very nice. There was one person who was extremely rude, unhelpful and should not be working with the public. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed my stay.”

- A little too far from the main downtown section to comfortably walk with small children.
“It was an ok hotel for our purposes. Overpriced for what you get with a 2.5 stars, but functional and we wanted to stay downtown St. Louis on a holiday weekend. A bit too far away from downtown to easily walk everywhere (riverfront, City Museum) with smaller children. Very close to Union Station, which was great. Had problems getting a room with two double beds, so had to settle for a King with a couch that pulled out into a bed. Not that comfortable on the couch bed, but we made the kids sleep there! Has a great pool facility, which was the highlight for the kids. No restaurant, but a nice, hot breakfast bar. Kids half price. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were smallish, but ok. Clean. Internet access was great. Overall a fairly standard Marriott Courtyard experience.”

“The rooms for the most part are very comfortable. The location for what we wanted wasn't good and for what we got it was way over priced. The midnight shift customer service was horrible. I actually asked for a manager and was given the run around. I will never stay at that hotel on traveling. I don't recommend staying at this hotel to anyone!”

“The doors slamming throughout the night on the second evening of our stay were a nuisance and disturbed our rest. This level of noise continued until well after midnight.”

- Close to venue.
- Breakfast was an additional cost.

- It was close to union station.
- It was not a "10" minute walk to the arch.
“We spent the night before in a Holiday Inn Express and it was so much nicer and provided us with a great breakfast, free drinks and popcorn in the room, etc. We were a little spoiled. The bottle of water in the room had a price tag of $2.50. Holiday Inn Express was $20 less and had many more amenities.”
