• They had readily available, printed directions to places of interest. This might be because of the extensive road construction, but it was handy.
• The breakfast buffet was not significantly better than many complimentary breakfasts. There was meat, but little fruit only melon.

“The distance from the wash u area made getting around time consuming, but the hotel staff was helpful in helping us. I appreciated free local paper and wish Id brought my swimsuit to take advantage of the pool. My husband was put off by the notion of having to request clean sheets each day. Didn't bother me.”

• Very comfortable, relaxing and clean.
• Room was a little small for a family of four.

“The overall experience was more than what I expected for the price. The rating that I received on the hotel when I booked the room seemed a little low. Everything was great with the exception that the rooms were a little small for a family of four. Some of the guests were quite rude to the guest and employees, they had the attitude that they were above the rest of the guest and deserved at least five star treatments but what do you do about that!”

“I would recommend this hotel it was a little ways away from things but we liked that it was a quiet hotel, our room was great, the beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room was clean. I know next time we travel in that direction I would like to stay in the same hotel.”

“When we checked-in to our room, our room was not what we booked. We booked a king bed with a sofa bed in the room. The room we had was only a king. We went down to notify the staff and they said that, that was the only room left. Well in the mean time the room had not been clean. There were dirty towels piled up in the corner, empty coke cans and empty cookie containers. We then notified the front desk that we are not staying in the room not only because it didn't have a sofa bed but because it hadn't been clean. We then got another room with two queen beds after the fact that we had to complain a lot for them to do that.”

• This was a wonderful hotel with nice rooms. The beds were very comfortable.
• Pillows were too soft.

• On ground floor, sat out on the patio a lot.
• Internet connection was very difficult. Hotel staff could not help, had to call provider, then found out in room instructions were bad.

“Hotel, location and facilities were very good. We had Sunday brunch, it was quite delicious. In general, a nice facility in an area I would normally stay on a business trip. Could be a tough choice between it and the nearby Drury Inn.”

• Conveniently located. Visually pleasing.
• Housekeeping knocked on door on more than one occasion when "Privacy" sign was hung on door.

“I was pleased with our experience. The room was nice looking and had complementary internet connection which my husband, who is a student, used for a short time. It was easy to navigate to our destinations via I270 from the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and had plenty of pillows. Except for the disruption of the housekeeping staff, our stay was quite pleasant.”

• The room had a wonderful scent, not a masking odor, but a clean, fresh smell. Nice balcony!
• Slightly confusing address, North vs. South, New vs. Old Ballas Road.

“We couldn't have been happier with the hotel. The room was sparkling clean and even smelled nice. Lots of extra pillows on the beds. Nice decor and bedding. Everything seemed brand new. The best shower I've ever had. The breakfast was hot, fresh, and delicious. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. Quiet location, easy access to highway. The pool was a bit chilly, which is understandable since it is March, but it was open both early and late.”

• This was a high quality hotel.
• There was a couple with a small, whiny child in the room next to us. We could hear them and the child through the walls.

“The location is great. The room we had was spacious. There were two comfortable king beds in the room. The room was clean and we had a great view out the sliding glass doors. There was a Waffle House nearby.”

• Nice indoor pool and hot tub. High speed internet access in room and docking stations in lobby.
• Breakfast is nine dollars per adult and isn't that great. Go down road to golden corral.

“I enjoyed this hotel. It is family friendly has a nice courtyard in the center that all the rooms have a sliding glass door to so you dont feel so cramped and confined. The people are very friendly and are willing to arrange checkout times to your personal needs. Ours was two hours after checkout time and they had no problem with it.”

• The women that checked us in was not all that friendly or helpful.

“Marriot Courtyard had what I expected for a short stay. Nice rooms, decent location, location near restaurants and Westport Plaza. Didn't take all that long to get to UMB Pavilion from hotel. Plus, there's a pool and hot tub indoors, and a courtyard in the middle, which makes it more of a place to be able to hang out at, and not just stay in the room.”
