• The hotel had a nice outdoor pool.
• The hotel did not have a free breakfast.

“The rooms were clean and well appointed. The outdoor pool was very nice. Being at Westport Plaza was nice due to the variety of good restaurants in walking distance. Was somewhat disappointed that a free breakfast was not provided.”

• Went out back door to pool, accidentally locked out, should place sign on door as reminder.

• Needed an air vent by the vanity. Room air didn't reach that area well.

“Very nice hotel, very romantic. Weddings were going on at the hotel and you didn't notice. Wasnt noisy. Beautiful room, just needed a fan or air vent by the vanity. Hotel employees were great - very polite, helpful - over all just very pleasant.”

• I was happy that the room had been remodeled and was not in the deteriorated condition as described in other ratings.
• The entrance and lobby areas of the hotel need to be reconditioned with new carpet or other flooring and the entrance needs plants and some lighting.

“Upon my arrival at the Sheraton Westport Chalet, I was sent to the other Sheraton facility, the Plaza. I had requested a King non-smoking room and also a remodeled room. My concerns grew as I drove around Westport Plaza to the Sheraton hotel. As I entered, I noticed a worn, dirty carpet that should been replaced years ago. Then, the front desk clerk told me that I would not be receiving my requested king room, but a room with two double beds. My companion and I took the elevator to the third floor and were pleasantly surprised see some Asian decorations and a new carpet in the hallway. Also, the room had been remodeled with a nice neutral-toned contemporary carpet, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had also been nicely remodeled. A minor problem existed in the showerhead being somewhat loose.”

• Located near fun places to eat and visit.
• The ceiling was leaking water in the bathroom.

“This hotel was very nice for the $ we paid. The kids enjoyed it and the atmosphere around the hotel was very nice too. The bad part was the indoor pool is at the other Sheraton hotel which you have to walk to. Would not be fun in cooler temperatures. Also the indoor pool was not very warm at all and it was suppose to be heated. We truly enjoyed our vacation and would stay at this hotel again.”

• The grounds were pretty, and well kept hotel in good location.
• Crowded parking, small bathroom a little difficult to get to off of the interstate.

“Didn't come into contact with very many employees, but the ones I did were friendly. Nice workout room. The bathroom was a little small, but not to the point of it being a problem. Housekeeping was great. My son liked the pool. I did, however think that the beds were a little hard, but I am used to my pillow top mattress!”

• Restaurant prices were very reasonable.
• Toilet brush was touching coffee cups on housekeeping carts.

“We've stayed at this hotel several times in the past. They have updated the rooms to keep up with the Sheraton signature. The hotel itself is very nice with a mixture of modern and antique furnishings. Overall we were very satisfied.”

• The beds were very comfortable and soft. The nightlife atmosphere looked like fun, but we had our kids with us this time!
• The parking was a problem with all of the other establishments nearby.

“We weren't there very long, but the beds were very comfortable and the proximity to many restaurants and bars would have been great if we were there without the kids! I will have to come back to enjoy the nightlife. The parking was a problem, but overall it was a very nice hotel with nice rooms and friendly people.”

• Was supposed to be at Westport Chalet ended up at Sheraton Plaza.

“This motel was okay. When we got there, they gave our room to someone else and put us in the Sheraton Plaza. Very unhappy about that. The Sheraton Plaza needs to upgrade swimming area, pool was dirty. Overall, the rooms were nice.”

• Lots of little luxuries to make it a lovely getaway.
• Parking was somewhat difficult and the available lot put you far from our room.

“Overall our hotel stay was exceptional. There were wonderful luxuries in our room that you wouldn't ordinarily find or expect at your hotel including bottled Voss water--refreshed every morning, Starbucks coffee for the in room pot. The down pillows and plush carpeting make you feel like your home has just been updated, not that you are staying in a hotel. More than just the standard toiletries anything you might have forgotten was available in the room and with more than just a dried out bar of soap that you often find at other lodging. All of the hotel staff were warm and inviting and more than willing to assist with bags or any other need. An exceptional hotel that we will definitely stay at again!”

• Older elegance. Atmosphere.
• My room location over the loading dock. Front desk, didnt offer alternative.

“Loved the atmosphere. Music playing, even outside. Took you back in time to an older elegance of hotels. Gave the impression of a Swiss village. Staff was nice, but not really accommodating. Did not offer valet parking, or assistance with luggage. Room was really nice. Location of the room was not the best. Over the loading dock. Trucks using back up beepers started before 5 am. I am a light sleeper, and this was not a plus. Also, had an issue with the heat/air unit. Sounded like a tornado coming through the room. Called front desk about 5:30 am. Nicely explained that I hadnt slept for 2 nights. Called again at 10 am. They finally sent maintenance up. He was really nice and apologetic and he fixed it in about 10 minutes. Front desk never followed through, nor suggested a room switch. Had to miss my seminar classes that day because I was so exhausted. I called and asked the front desk if I could have a late check out because I had a long drive and needed some rest. They said they didnt offer that.”

• Initially was given a key to an occupied room, they corrected it and comp'd me two ($12) breakfasts. I was happy!
• There were several high school teams staying there, was a bit noisy till 2am.

“Overall it was lovely. Nice grounds with a sm. Lake and waterfall. The adjoining Wesport properties were quaint. The room was large enough to move around in, however the bathroom area was very small.”

“We enjoyed our stay but were let down because we expected to see the lake during coffee and at sunset. However, we saw the parking lot only from our room. That was a huge let down as we are water people and were looking forward to the promised view.”

“I have stayed at this hotel before and was very pleased. However, this time I must have been in the "cheap section" because the quality was much less. The sheets were dirty, the hot water didn't work in the bathroom, etc. I was very disappointed this time.”

• The decorations and set up of the room. And the bed felt like you were lying on feathers. The room was overall very aesthetically pleasing.
• The TV was not in front of the bed, but it was no big deal at all.

“Great hotel to stay in. Everything was amazing, clean, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable. It was close to many restaurants and entertainment too (walking distance).”

• The location and proximity to the St. Louis Airport.
• The hotel staff is terrible and non-friendly.

“The Sheraton Chalet Westport needs to learn how to treat frequent guests. My client's room was broken into at 3 AM and he caught the person entering, the staff offered no solution and no compensation for a lack of security. I wouldn't stay here again.”

• I like the convenience to quality restaurants. I liked the free HBO.
• The staff at the front was indifferent. Unhelpful with restaurant selection and apathetic during check-out.

“Nice hotel for a business trip. Located near restaurants with good internet connections and business amenities. I also felt like the bathroom was a bit of luxury. However, this hotel boasts a lake view. What they fail to tell you is that they have a man made lake and the rest of the hotel is in the midst of a shopping centre and business area. It's hardly a space for a weekend getaway. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my sleeping experience and a fantastic bathroom with great bathroom products.”

• The condition of my room was sub-standard.

“Overall, I was not pleased with my stay. The room I was given was designated "non-smoking"; however there was a strong order of smoke throughout the room. The shower did not drain adequately, which left you standing in a pool of water, while attempting to take a shower. The furniture was tattered.”

“We asked to be put in the taller building, king size bed, and near our friends- which they usually do. They never said we were not in the large building. Found out when we tried to find our room and it was in the shorter part of the building which was not nearly as nice- rotten carpet in halls, door to balcony rotten, room ok, but smelled like smoke. It was explained to us when we went back down to the desk that there were no rooms in the tall part, and no king beds available which would of been better if explained before we parked and went up the elevator to the tall part. Our friends were put in a room near us. All in all the desk clerk was not friendly or helpful and she did not even apologize about the mix up. She never smiled once. There were 2 girls working, the rude one was young white girl w/brown hair. She was apparently training a new young black girl who looked very confused and the young white girl was not too nice to her either.”

• The hotel was super clean and had convenient parking.
• I was not happy that there was no indoor pool at this hotel and we had to drive to a hotel next door to swim and use the hot tub.

“The hotel was very nice and clean but we were not real happy that they advertised an indoor pool but failed to say we had to drive to get there as it was located off site. I was also disturbed that the water they put in the rooms was $4.00 a bottle. The rooms were very nice and the beds were great.”

“Drunken screaming idiots in several adjacent rooms till 3:00 a.m., finally gave up after Security knocked on several doors. This basically leaves a poor impression regardless of other factors.”

• The room was much more than I expected from the outside of the hotel, the remodel was done well.
• The outside looked a little old and a little run down.

“The lobby was friendly and inviting and a welcome surprise after the disappointing exterior. The bathroom was too small for a 3-star hotel but was very clean and modern. The beds were relatively comfortable, but you could tell they had been in use for a while. My overall opinion of the hotel is positive and I would stay there again.”

• Beautifully furnished. Very comfortable bed, duvet, and pillows!
• Restaurant seemed out of place and didn't seem welcoming.

“The room itself was beautiful. Furnished very lovely. Most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on (even compared to higher star quality hotels). Luxurious duvet, super good pillows! I loved the Starbucks coffee in the room.”

• The indoor pool was in a sister hotel 1/4 mile away.

“The hotel was nice. I would stay there again. The indoor pool was at a sister hotel about a 1/4 mile away. Had to walk outside to get to the other hotel to swim (not good for kids in the winter). Nice hotel, but not a good place to get away for the weekend with the kids. Convenient for shopping and restaurants.”

• I was disappointed in the cleanliness.

“It was not what I expected from this quality of hotel it was very obvious it was a room that was not used very much maybe only when people did get price breaks but that defeats the purpose. I am willing to come back sometime and pay more if I like the hotel.”
