• Location was great.
• Mildew in the room very strong.

“We have stayed in this hotel many times and each time it declines in room appearance. This last time mildew could be smelled throughout the room. Fortunately no one turned ill from the exposure.”

• Great room!!! Roomy, clean, excellent.
• Customer service was lacking

“Waited 25 minutes to check in at least. Key card would not work in the door. Waited another 20 minutes to get new keys, then got a lecture from the gal at the front desk about how the key cards need to be kept away fron other credit cards. Really, no kidding???”

• Outside pool didn't open early enough, key didn't work for inside pool area had to be let in.

• This hotel is close to Virizon Amphitheater with easy back way access. Westport is fun too!
• Nothing.

“We were in St. Louis for a concert at the Virizon Amphitheater Westport is just a hop skip and a jump from there by using some back roads. We were back to our hotel in no time at all. I was very happy with our stay. We have stayed at Westport before but never in the Chalet until now. The Hotel is quaint old English theme, maybe to some that's dated, but we liked it. The rooms have been updated and I thought our room was very spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view of Westport off the balcony, the bathroom was lovely, the bed was amazing! Our children were in the adjoining room and had a huge vestibule and bathroom in their double room. The staff was very friendly. We didn't get to use the pool, but it looked very nice. We will definitely stay their again.”

• It was very clean and the personnel very friendly.
• We had two spiders in our first room but they moved us.

“The staff was very polite and when we had spiders in our first room they moved us to another room and even provided us with two morning buffet breakfasts. Would stay there again.”

• Restaurant availability.
• Somewhat difficult to get to from the highway.

“If guests were not allowed to keep dogs in cages outside of my hotel room it would have been fine. Someone had three large dogs caged in a gravel area outside the hotel room windows. They barked continuously from 4:00 am in the morning!”

“The staff was the only good thing about the hotel. The room was not clean. Food was on the floor under the bed, someone had used the toilet and not flushed, there was something green and slimy on one of the pillows on the bed, and the room smelled bad overall. The sliding door to the outside could not be locked. We were offered another room. The second room was slightly cleaner, but it was still a small economy room. The bathroom did not have enough room to turn around in unless you closed the door. There was no pool, instead they offered a shuttle ride to another hotel to use that pool. We were very disappointed in the experience overall.”

“I was kind of upset with my stay at the Sheraton. My husband and I stayed there for our anniversary and we had a room with two double beds. We got woke up at 2 in the morning by a bunch of partier who were screaming and running up and down the halls. When I showered, the water would be burning hot then freezing cold..very uncomfortable. I think this hotel is in need of some updates.”

• The pillows and bed were very comfortable.
• Bathroom was
  too small if more than 2
  people, need plug by mirror in living area.

“This hotel was very comfortable, clean and quiet. I loved the balcony overlooking the lake. The breakfast buffet was a bit pricey. Attended a conference which was comfortable with 2 exceptions, the door was too loud when people went in/out and also the kitchen was next door and it was extremely loud at times. Otherwise not any problems. I would recommend this hotel to my friends/family.”

• Convenient location to the entertainment/restaurants at Westport Plaza.
• Refrigerators in rooms are a big plus for people/families. I would suggest adding a small fridge to the room.

“Great hotel convenient to the entertainment venues at Westport Plaza. Lots of restaurant choices. The bar area at the hotel was great. There's a great view of the lake which is beautiful even in the fall/winter.

• Good location, right within a mall.
• Convention was on going with lots of people in the lobby.

“Hotel clerk wanted us to move to a nearby Sheraton so they can put more convention attendees to be in the same hotel. They didn't give us King size bed (our profile) and they placed us in the lowest level at the very end of the hallway (long walk).”

“Westport is a great area near airport to stay with lots of places to eat within complex. Hotel is dated, but rooms are updated and staff is good. Internet was down all week, but Starbucks was within walking distance.”

• Nice setting, good beds, great location, great bar prices.
• The internet was not good, never worked for more than 5 min.

“Other than the internet not working right in the entire hotel (luckily there is a star bucks next door) it is a great place to stay in Westport which has plenty of places (good) to eat. Nice pool and lake setting. Great staff. Great prices in the bar and room service. Even though the lobby area looks a bit dated the rooms are pretty nice.”

• The elevator was small and slow, and the bathroom in the room was a little small.

• I really enjoyed the balcony overlooking West Port.
• Baseball team was in town for tournament and kids swarmed the pool.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in West Port. It was super convenient to restaurants, bars, and entertainment. They had an indoor and outdoor pool area. The dining area looked very inviting although we didn't eat in the hotel itself. Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean, BED WAS HEAVENLY!”

“This facility is not up to Sheraton standards. The walls are paper thin, and the overall facility was unclean. The staff did not ask how our stay was, and that was to their benefit. We had one of the worst nights in a hotel.”

• Great location, nice pool.
• My experience in my hotel room upon checking in.

“My room was on the first floor of the hotel and faced the fountain/pool area so it had a door to the outside as well as the entry door from the hall. I was alarmed to see (upon checking in at nearly 10 pm with my exhausted little child) that the entire door knob and fixture surrounding it were missing! You could see outside and any sort of sound or bugs etc. Could make it's way inside not to mention the security issues since the lock was located directly above this huge hole. I immediately called the front desk and the person taking my call said they would send maintenance. After waiting nearly 15 minutes (with my exhausted child) I called again and spoke with the lady who checked us in. She said she would move us to a room close by and she would bring the key to us. Which she did promptly and I was very appreciative. But all in all this was a huge inconvenience and a great disappointment. I did not sleep well after such a concern. Stayed at this hotel many times and never had a problem before.”

“This hotel is a great value if you don't mind a little driving to get to the downtown St. Louis attractions. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was ok. The staff was friendly & helpful. The West Port Plaza shops & eating establishments are great.”

• The staff was very friendly. We also appreciated the fact that there was no charge for overnight parking.
• The bed linens were dirty!

“I was mortified to wake up to find that my bed linens were dirty on night two of my stay. We were out late and did not turn all the lights on before getting into bed. Who would have thought we would have needed to inspect a bed that had already been made by the housekeeping crew? I took photographs of the dirty sheets but did not have time to deal with it at the time of our departure as we had a flight to catch. It absolutely disgusted me to know that we slept in that bed and only God knows what we slept on.”

• I walked in at 11am and I was given a room; with a smile!
• They should to try and clean the lake a bit (too much algae on walls of pond) up?.

“I was greeted with a smile. My queen size bed was very comfortable. There was hardly any noise in the hallways (that I cold hear). They even had Starbucks as the complimentary coffee in room. I was greeted with a smile in the morning and a thank you when I left at 5 am. A very nice experience!”

“The rooms were clean and well appointed. The outdoor pool was very nice. Being at Westport Plaza was nice due to the variety of good restaurants in walking distance. Was somewhat disappointed that a free breakfast was not provided.”

• Went out back door to pool, accidentally locked out, should place sign on door as reminder.

• Rooms were comfy and clean.
• Needed an air vent by the vanity. Room air didn't reach that area well.

“Very nice hotel, very romantic. Weddings were going on at the hotel and you didn't notice. Wasnt noisy. Beautiful room, just needed a fan or air vent by the vanity. Hotel employees were great - very polite, helpful - over all just very pleasant.”
