  • This hotel had history for us and we hoped to recapture that. We were not successful. It was a major disappointment.
  • We had to pay extra from Wi-Fi when places like McDonalds carry it for free. Ridiculous. No cleaning service the whole week! Dirty rag on entry.

“There was a dirty rag in the bathroom. We had to pay for internet service. The front desk first refused my credit card information even though my account more than covered the charges, and the entire week we were there we never once had maid service. It was only due to the location and convenience that we extended our visit one more day. Certainly was not due to the service we received. Very unfortunate, My husband and I have stayed here on 3 other occasions and the difference was night and day. It was like staying a different motel entirely. The staff was not friendly and frequently was not even at the front desk. We arrived in to check in pretty late, tired and exhausted and waited for the front desk staff to get back from a break. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a coffee maker in the room but the coffee was never replenished. We did not complain to the front desk because none of these are issues that we should have had to bring to their attention. We even went so far as to book members of our wedding party at this motel last year because we had such wonderful experiences. My only hope is that they didn't receive the same service we did this last visit.”

  • I liked having a mini-kitchen with a fridge.
  • $20 to upgrade to a room with 2 beds (that had very firm mattresses).

“This hotel is as good as a 2-star hotel can be. I personally found the bed to be too firm for my tastes, but when you figure what you pay for what you get, I feel like I won.”

  • I did like the being able to use a kitchen while on vacation.
  • Light fixture fell off in the middle of the night. Scared us to death.

  • The kitchenette and full size fridge was wonderful.
  • Elevator broke while we were there, had to carry luggage down 4 flights of stairs.

“Wonderful place to stay, the kitchen allows you to bring food back to room rather then getting burned out on take out. Doesn't have a pool, but the beds were very comfortable. Staff was wonderful to deal with.”

  • It was in a quiet location and front desk helpful.
  • We arrived at 4 p.m. On a Friday and had to wait for our room to be cleaned.

“The location is nice if you don't mind driving Downtown, which we didn't. The hotel had a nice, clean setup with friendly front desk and nice common area. Our room was not clean when we arrived and was not done very thoroughly. They had a play pen for our younger child at no charge, but it was not child friendly for our 2 yr-old.”

  • Desk person was wonderful; location was very nice, big rooms for size of hotel, small fitness room.
  • An indoor pool would have been nice, everything else I was very satisfied with.

“Wonderful location. Very easy to find. Airport is conveniently nearby if needed, but far enough that it is very quiet in the hotel. Staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful in every way. Kitchenette was very nice to have available. Full-sized closet next to the bed. Easy parking.”

  • The staff at check in was very helpful and friendly.
  • The room was not very clean.

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice in the fact that they had a full size fridge and two sinks. There were no complimentary toiletries. The wall next to the bed had smears of nasal excrements (boogers), and the lamp shade had what looked like cigarette burns. Our stay was quick and cheap. We would not stay there again.”

  • Lack of signs to find the place.

“Upon arriving, which was difficult due to there being no signs saying "Homestead Suites", instead Extended Stay this, Extended Stay that. If the Hotel is called "Homestead Suites", there should be a sign that says that directing the traveler to the Hotel. The first room I was assigned was yet to be cleaned. By the time I got back down to the lobby, it was closed, had to get the 24-hour staff. After being re-assigned a room that was cleaned, things went smoother.”

  • Clean, efficient, everything worked, nice kitchen in room.
  • No staff between late night and 7am. No breakfast or restaurant.

“I would have liked to have the front desk open 24 hours. I needed a couple of things late night and was not able to get them because I had to leave early in the mornings. The rooms were very clean and the staff that I did talk with was very nice and helpful; a custodian checked me in. Nothing to do at the hotel; don't bring your children. Nice laundry room and in room kitchens if you're staying a long time. Nothing fancy, but it suited my needs.”

“One thing that I didn't like about the hotel was that when we asked for more towels; blankets and so on, we actually had to go down to the front desk and get the Items. The front desk staff was not able to bring the Items to our room.”

  • No daily maid service without extra fee, not happy about that.

“Homestead suites is a basic extended stay hotel, not as nice as Hyatt place suites, but adequate. Be forewarned that there is no daily maid service unless you make separate arrangements for an additional daily fee. I really did not like that. Beyond that the rooms are comfortable and large enough. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

  • The front desk staffs are friendly and would go out of their way to do things for you, if they can do it.
  • The room service is horrible. I stayed there for a month and I only got room service once, that too after I asked for it.

  • I hated this hotel-I wouldn't even call it a hotel. I would call it a dump.
  • The toilet didn't flush, the heat didn't work.

“This hotel was so bad that we didn't spend the night. We couldn't. The room was cold, the heater hissed and there was a loud boom when we turned it on. Then the room smelled and had a smell as though it were on fire. It was horrible. I am very disappointed.”

  • It was close to most of the attractions in St. Louis.
  • It's what you can expect out of 1 star hotel.

“1. Don't expect the front desk to pickup the phone after 5:00am. It goes to answering service. 2. Hotel lobby was filthier than super motel 8.3. Complains are well received at front desk and so are they forgotten by the time you leave the desk.4. They don't have a service man over the weekend (that's when most of us go out traveling). So you are on your own if something breaks like ours the shower.”

“Pretty shabby, the air conditioning/heating wall units are exceedingly loud and run all night. The room was pretty shabby and not clean. The evening front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The morning person didn't greet me or even enquire about my stay when I checked out. It was unsatisfactory at even a 1 star rating.”

The hotel was also difficult to find, being tucked back on a side street. However, if youre looking for quiet, They have it.   • It was strictly economical.
  • There were no amenities whatsoever in comparison with other 2 star rated motels and it was not on your list of motels for the area.

“It was extremely ridiculous staying at a motel that did not have a 24-hour hostess. There was a need for a room change when we got there, and there was no one available when we arrived which was after 11 p.m. (when their check in counter closes). In fact the attendant was leaving at the moment we arrived, letting us in the locked door. I was more than upset when I talked to the helpless housekeeper and realized that she was the only one that could help us with the room. We desperately needed double beds and were forced to go to another motel to get an extra room that late at night b/c there was no one there to help us or transfer us to another room. Someone was without a bed still, and it would have been helpful to have someone available (maybe even management) to attend to our needs. After driving 10 hours, this was not the time to have to deal with this sort of outrageous situation.”
