• Convenience of location to the sights that we were able to see while down in that area.
• It was kind of hidden away from some areas.

“One thing that I didn't like about the hotel was that when we asked for more towels; blankets and so on, we actually had to go down to the front desk and get the Items. The front desk staff was not able to bring the Items to our room.”

• No daily maid service without extra fee, not happy about that.

“Homestead suites is a basic extended stay hotel, not as nice as Hyatt place suites, but adequate. Be forewarned that there is no daily maid service unless you make separate arrangements for an additional daily fee. I really did not like that. Beyond that the rooms are comfortable and large enough. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

• Large room for the price, including kitchenette.
• I requested a room change because first one had un-emptied trash and mold around tub.

“You will enjoy the price. Overall, I think I'd have been better off to pay $20 more per night for a hotel with hot breakfasts and housekeeping, since I was there for a multi-night stay.”

• The front desk staffs are friendly and would go out of their way to do things for you, if they can do it.
• The room service is horrible. I stayed there for a month and I only got room service once, that too after I asked for it.

“The staffs are very friendly and are helpful. The hotel's cleaning schedule is weird though. I was there for a month and I only got room service once. I had to ask for it.”

• I hated this hotel-I wouldn't even call it a hotel. I would call it a dump.
• The toilet didn't flush, the heat didn't work.

“This hotel was so bad that we didn't spend the night. We couldn't. The room was cold, the heater hissed and there was a loud boom when we turned it on. Then the room smelled and had a smell as though it were on fire. It was horrible. I am very disappointed.”

• All single beds, we had 7 and needed 2 beds in each room.

“Very poor because we had to pay $20 more per night for 2 beds in each of the 2 rooms we bought for our family of 7. Not family and budget friendly.”

• It was close to most of the attractions in St. Louis.
• It's what you can expect out of 1 star hotel.

“1. Don't expect the front desk to pickup the phone after 5:00am. It goes to answering service. 2. Hotel lobby was filthier than super motel 8.3. Complains are well received at front desk and so are they forgotten by the time you leave the desk.4. They don't have a service man over the weekend (that's when most of us go out traveling). So you are on your own if something breaks like ours the shower.”

• Had to request two new rooms before we found one clean enough to sleep in. And it was still dirty.

“Overall, it wasn't bad. The rooms were large, but only cleaned once a week. Front desk staff promised us a rollaway bed that we never received. The location was perfect, though.”

• The air conditioner is very loud, bathroom was not clean.

“Pretty shabby, the air conditioning/heating wall units are exceedingly loud and run all night. The room was pretty shabby and not clean. The evening front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The morning person didn't greet me or even enquire about my stay when I checked out. It was unsatisfactory at even a 1 star rating.”

• Hotel staff was very friendly and eager to help.

“The hotel was clean except for some discoloration on the shower curtains and some left over take-out food in the refrigerator. The hotel was also difficult to find, being tucked back on a side street. However, if youre looking for quiet, They have it. Traveling with 13 years old, I would of really have liked to have a pool and hot tub at the end of the day.”

• It was strictly economical.
• There were no amenities whatsoever in comparison with other 2 star rated motels and it was not on your list of motels for the area.

“It was extremely ridiculous staying at a motel that did not have a 24-hour hostess. There was a need for a room change when we got there, and there was no one available when we arrived which was after 11 p.m. (when their check in counter closes). In fact the attendant was leaving at the moment we arrived, letting us in the locked door. I was more than upset when I talked to the helpless housekeeper and realized that she was the only one that could help us with the room. We desperately needed double beds and were forced to go to another motel to get an extra room that late at night b/c there was no one there to help us or transfer us to another room. Someone was without a bed still, and it would have been helpful to have someone available (maybe even management) to attend to our needs. After driving 10 hours, this was not the time to have to deal with this sort of outrageous situation.”

• It is on the good location and it is nice place to stay.
• Dirty towels. I found some black hair in all of them. It was disgusting!

“If towels were clean, I would be very satisfied and happy to go there again for sure. They just need to work a little bit on the hygiene. Everything else was great.”

“It was nice to have a refrigerator & microwave in room since we have a baby. Unfortunately, our first room had a serious ant problem so we asked for another room. The second room also had an ant problem, though not as bad. The carpet needed vacuuming, also. Not too impressed with this stay.”

• Security of front door locked after 11 pm.
• No iron in room, hallways smelled badly and was dirty.

“This is a great place to stay if you just need a bed and a refrigerator. The housekeeping staff needs to be fired. There was a used coffee filter in my coffee maker and the room and overall hotel smelled and looked dirty. I've stayed here several times and the bed is very comfortable, the staff is semi-friendly (I called for an iron and I finally had to put my wrinkled clothes on and go to the front to get it as it was obviously not a priority for her to bring it to me). The iron has been missing in the room the last two times I stayed there and last time, there wasn't a blow dryer either. I would stay here again if I just need a place to stay and don't plan on hanging out at the hotel.”

• They gave me a key to a room that was already in use - with my 11 year old I walked in on a man in his room. They refused to give me a non-smoking room.

“The hotel is difficult to find and their signage is minimal - making it even more difficult to find. The room was dirty. They refused to give me a non-smoking room indicating the non-smoking rooms were reserved for regular customers. Additionally, they gave me a key to a room that was already occupied. My 11 year old daughter and I walked into a room where a man was in bed. Very embarrassing and quite possibly very risky. The hotel front lobby is passably clean and presentable - can't say the same for the sleeping room we stayed in.”

• Non-smoking room was very smoky; no laptop, breakfast, or pool. No restaurant w/in walk.

“They gave me a different room which was fine. There was no business office or laptop available (Very Frustrating). No breakfast or pool. The hotel was not within a walking distance of any restaurant. The carpet needed to be cleaned, or better yet replaced, and the general feel of the hotel was that it needed a carpet steam/cleaning. The room had a kitchen but not a single bit of any ingredients to work with. Boiled egg anyone? The staff was friendly but I couldn't help wonder what they were so proud of. Hadn't they seen the rest of the place? Even for one person on a business trip trying to save money, I'd rather pay a little extra than extend my stay here. Friendly Staff but no 2 star.”

• Nice. Kitchenette with fridge great with kids! Room was comfortable and not cramped.
• Check-in was unexpectedly busy at 10pm. Staff was still friendly.

“We were pleasantly surprised! The kitchenette with fridge was great for us with a small child (milk & sippy cups). Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows.”

• Staff was helpful, location nice.
• Mass confusion, elevators were dirty, TV was on the fritz, wires were hanging from ceiling, bed was full not queen.

“For the amount of money paid, this hotel was adequate. However, I was disappointed to see wires hanging from the ceiling, dirty floors in the elevator, our bed sheets were on inside out and our bed was more of the size of a full not a queen like promised. Our hotel TV did not have full cable and many times the TV would go on the fritz. We also could not get our wireless internet to work and the front desk was not much help despite 3 calls. However, when we first checked into the hotel the manager personally took us to our room and greeted us the next day. The hotel had nice laundry facilities and the staff was pleasant. Not the greatest place to stay but not the worst either.”

• Walked to a different Homestead suite.

“I was walked to this and the staff was not apologetic about walking me. Room was not to expectations at Airport. Only one bed I was traveling with my daughter when I asked for a room with two beds staff refused and insisted they were doing me a favor! by letting me stay there. At 5:40 in the morning the valve in the tub failed causing the water to come on, it was very loud. No one showed up to repair it until 8:30 A.M. When I checked out no one apologized for the problem. No one thanked me for staying. I was not offered any compensation for being walked or the problem with the room. No staff members wore name tags so I do not know who I talked to. Our vacation was ruined.”

• Extremely dirty, not good for kids, in disrepair, inflexible bed options.

“Our experience with this hotel was horrible. The mold in the bathroom, broken furniture, just one single Queen bed, dirty carpet, and lack of basic normal amenities were all reasons that we were not satisfied with the hotel. Absolutely not the quality.”
