  • The food in the lobby.
  • Having to pay for local phone calls.

  • Very clean, easy access from interstate.
  • Front desk slightly confused but very busy.

“Very clean hotel with easy access from highway. Not all hotels in Westport area have this easy an access. The staff went out of their way to take care of patrons displaced by the storm. I went to lobby at 11:00 am to get a cup of coffee. Even though the complimentary breakfast ended at 10, the ladies offered to get me muffins, bagels and fruit, from the kitchen. Nice experience under trying conditions for staff on a weekend. ”

  • No closet in room,.

“The staff were the most friendly I have ever had at a location. The check staff and morning staff at the breakfast bar were just great. Location was great for the airport, wet port or sty Charles areas. A basic Hampton room but very clean everywhere. I can't give it a 3 star without a restaurant and bar, but would give it a strong 2.5 star.”

  • More whole-grain options at breakfast would be nice.

“Hampton inn/Westport has always provided excellent service. The employees are friendly and caring, always going above and beyond. During this stay, they worked hard to find an item Iżd left behind on a stay a month earlier. The rooms are always great, on par with many of the 3-star hotels Iżve stayed at. Wonderful bed! Large rooms with comfortable sofas and plenty of room to stash luggage. Nicely decorated, too, which is always a nice touch? The free breakfast is delightful with a good variety, although I would like to see more whole-grain options in their baked goods. The three varieties of coffee, hot tea, fresh cookies, and fruit available in the lobby are always excellent and much-appreciated. Coffee quality is on-par with many coffeehouses. I've stayed in many hotels in the Westport area, and this one is by far my favorite.”

  • The room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable.
  • It was hard to get the heat/air temperature controlled.

“The clerk who checked us in was very helpful. She even looked some things up on the internet for us. The room was very quiet and the bed was so comfortable. We walked next door for a sandwich and a drink at the bar. We would definitely stay there again.”

  • The bed could have been more comfortable.

“There was a workout room on the first floor (nice). Our room was spotlessly clean and decorated nicely. I asked to move to another room because there was a crying infant next to us. That was no problem at all. There was coffee made all day as well as anything you could want for breakfast short of eggs and gravy. The staff was personable and very customer oriented. We really enjoyed our stay; great experience.”

  • It sets the bar for a 2.5-star hotel.
  • Online directions took me to the wrong side of the highway.

“Convenient, safe location. Online directions took me to the wrong side of the highway, so if you are unfamiliar with the area, it's good to call the front desk for directions off i-270. The bed and bath linens are very nice for a 2.5-star property; even nicer than some 3-star places Iżve stayed. The included breakfast buffet has several hot items. They only have an outdoor pool, which isn't very practical for St. Louis; it's only open a few months out of the year. I'd like to see an enclosed pool open year-round. They have free high-speed wireless internet.”

  • The cleanliness of the bedding and the room.
  • There was no indoor pool, but not much of and inconvenience.

“It was a good experience. We had a relaxing stay. Not very family friendly especially for young children. There isn't much for them to do. But, overall, a wonderful time!”

  • The front desk were friendly and courteous. The bed, especially the pillows, was very comfortable.
  • The stopper in the bathroom sink (454, I think) was installed wrong. It barely opens to let water out, needs fixing.

  • I liked the breakfast bar. It had plenty of variety.
  • Did not get a smoke-free room as I had requested.

“I did not care for the fact that I did not get a smoke-free room as I already mentioned. I wanted a pool. When I got there I discovered there was a pool, but I had not come prepared because of the info previously received. Otherwise, OK”

  • Poorly managed - no security.

“Drunken people yelled, cussed and slammed doors for one and a half hours in the hallway between 1:30 - 3 a.m. No security, nobody came to manage it. Several hotel occupants complained about it in the morning. When I mentioned it to the lady at the desk, she responded that "were they hotel guests?", I said "I don't know". She said that if they were guests, they can't really do anything! -- WOW!”

  • Daily breakfast is served. They have written directions to everywhere. Good morning greeting each day by staff. Shuttle from airport.
  • They only give out one room key.

“This hotel is wonderful. The rooms are large and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly to you. Breakfast is served daily. Typed out directions are kept at the front desk and they just about get you to any main attraction in the city. The hotel also provides maps. The bathroom was unique in a good way. It had a lot of space unlike most hotel bathrooms. Iron and board are provided. I loved everything about this hotel.”

  • Nice breakfast - close to car repair.
  • They ran out of non-smoking rooms. We had to use a smoking room.

  • Breakfast coffee was good.
  • I was told we would have a pull out bed and when I got there they wanted to charge me. I had a SMOKING room! It was horrible.
