• Staff helpful in changing rooms.
• No elevator, Hallways look very dingy.

“Original room was 2nd floor with 5 bags and no elevator. Room had only AC that barely worked and bathroom tub very old and grimy looking. Front desk swapped rooms with no hassle, but room window faced a brick wall. Lobby appeared nice, hallways smelled bad and the hallway carpets looked real dirty. I would rate this a 1.5 2 max.”

• Construction in the hallway by my room & bar glasses very dirty & the shower had no press.

“Construction always has to happen but I didn't like having to squeeze between mattresses in the hallway and seeing all the scraps lying outside in the parking lot on the ground and not in a dumpster.”

• The staff was helpful.
• There was a mess in the stairway the entire stay, this told by me but they didn't clean it often.

“There was a watch found from a previous guest in my room under a bench in the room. This would tell me they didn't clean thoroughly between guests. The staff I did meet were very friendly and efficient. I will stay there again.”

• Check in was efficient and friendly. The pool was refreshing.
• The beverage glasses and ice bucket had not been emptied or cleaned.

“The room was comfortable and airflow was decent. Although most of it was clean, there were a few details that let me know that more attention should be paid to appropriate cleaning. The pool was nice, refreshing and clean.”

• The Bennigan's was convenient.
• The bathroom was not very clean. The sink drain would not go up. The tub has residue in it as well.

“For the particular weekend I stayed there seemed to be a lot of people in the hotel. The staff seemed a bit exasperated at the line when we were checking in. There was not enough parking in the lot. As stated above the bathroom was not very clean. Having the Bennigan's attached was very nice and convenient. The location was good too.”

• The pool was attractive.

“The staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. My car was broken into, staff members saw it and failed to report the break in, instead they left me to find it the following morning during the wet weather and proceeded to tell me how they saw it and asked who I knew who would have done that. I was from out of state! Obviously it was just a random break in! After talking with a few people (while my window was being repaired), I learned break ins like this happens all the time around there! Also the room was dirty and the sheets were turned inside out as if they were not washed but just flipped over. The whole experience was a nightmare. A disgusting nightmare.”

• Nice lobby with lot's of room for small casual meetings.
• Not very clean and often my room was skipped for maid service.

“Bennigans is attached and the food for lunch and dinner is reasonably good fare but they did not do breakfast well at all. The rooms were not well kept up with mold in the bathroom and maid service was spotty.”

• I really liked the layout of the pool area and the waterfall thing in the lobby.
• When you lay on the bed it sort of sunk in the middle. My wife and I were sharing a bed and it was a bit uncomfortable.

“I would recommend the hotel if you are traveling alone or just with your spouse so that you can have maybe a king sized bed. Otherwise your sleep wont be very comfortable.”

• I liked the pleasing appearance of the lobby and recreation area as well as the restaurant.
• The room could have been cleaner broken and very dirty (gross) heater vent.

“This hotel was easily accessible and near a major interstate exchange. The hotel had a pleasing appearance from the outside and from the lobby area. However, the room could have been somewhat cleaner very dirty heater vent. The restaurant (Bennigan's) was excellent.”

• The window leaked and the bathroom had standing water in the tub.

“This was the worst holiday inn that I have ever stayed at. The first-floor room had only sheer curtains, the screen-fewer windows was found unlocked and leaked, and we discovered hairs on the towels and standing water in the bathtub when we arrived.”

• The convenience of checking in and out, big comfortable room.
• No refrigerator in the room, no room service after breakfast.

“My wife and I came to Bettendorf to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This hotel was a wonderful getaway. The room was quiet and clean and very comfortable. We especially liked the ability to choose our pillows from a "pillow menu"!”

“This was a nice hotel marred by a broken Ice machine and a mislabeled soda machine which dispensed caffeinated soda when I wanted water. After eight hours of driving, this Inconvenience was not appreciated.”

“On the second night there was a fight in the hotel outside our room resulting in police being called, very upsetting. The first night our AC leaked on the carpet, making the room very damp by morning.”

• The staff attempted to correct problems with my room.
• I had to change rooms, as the first two were unacceptable as far as cleanliness. The soap holders had peeling paint in all three rooms.

“I expected, with a rating of 2.5 stars, that I would get a nice hotel. Instead, the first two rooms that I was put in were not particularly clean - the second one even had coffee spills on the coffee tray and soap on the faucet.”

• The desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the indoor pool and hot tub were welcome sights.
• There is neither an elevator nor a ramp for people who are assigned to upper-level rooms.

“This isn't a bad hotel at all, but more detailed cleaning is needed in certain areas, such as vestibules. There is no elevator or ramp for upper-level rooms, and the hallway is the longest I've ever seen in a hotel. Getting to my room was tricky, as there is no plainly-seen way to get to that seemingly football-field-length hallway. The room itself was clean and reasonably comfortable, and the housekeeping staff was friendly and accommodating. There is a nice little mall across the main street from the hotel, and the property is easily accessed from the nearby interstate. I would probably stay here again, now that I know the lay of the land.”

• This hotel is old, the room was musty and the mattress and bed were very poor. An economy motel would have had better facilities.

“After spending the previous night in another hotel in another city was excellent. This hotel was a huge disappointment. The rating of this hotel is much higher than it should be. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• Internet connectivity was terrible!

“Loose faucet, broken ironing board and heater wasn't working in the spa; yet fairly clean overall. The free internet was terrible! When I performed a speed test online to detect my connection speed, it dropped the connection so many times the server kicked me out! Tech support for the hotel was clueless, and I was better off sitting in Panera Bread using their Wi-Fi, then in the comfort of my hotel room.”

• Dirty pool and hot tub. Pool water too cold. Sauna not working.

“While the hotel is nice and close to activities; it is poor on details. The pool water was too cold, the hot tub had a dirty ring around the sides, the water was cloudy not hot, and the sauna was missing the glass for the door and was unusable. And instead of a free breakfast with the room, they only gave a 20% coupon for the restaurant. I will not return to this property. It was not worth the price paid.”

• The staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant - a nice touch.
• Workout room was bare, hot tub was terrible, and the internet spotty.

“The overall appearance and cleanliness was not bad. The carpets are rather worn in some places and the paint a little tired. The hot tub had almost zero pressure in the jets and was very dirty. The workout room had nothing for weights and no fan. The room was clean and tidy. Showers had good pressure and the A/C worked incredibly well. I took advantage of the second floor couches to read, was very nice. Best part about it was location and helpful and friendly staff.”

“This hotel was generally a disappointment. The hot tub was Luke warm, the steam room had a broken door, and the bathroom in our room was leaky. The staff was friendly and made the best of things, but the facilities were poor.”

• Hotel room, hallway, and doors were very dirty and not clean.

“The lobby is nice when first coming in. Staffs are nice. Going in back door, noticed the door is not secure. It flung open and did not require key card. Hotel has no elevator and stairways were very narrow and it was hard to maneuver luggage upstairs. Door to room was scraped up and hallway had smoky smell. Bathroom had dirt and grime in bathtub. Bed linens had spots and stains. Remote control was well-used and buttons were sticking.”

• I requested a room change, and staff was very accommodating.
• It is in need of stem to stern renovation.

“Bed -- very comfortable. Non-feather pillows -- good for my allergies. Front desk staff -- pleasant and helpful. Location of hotel was convenient for my purposes. On the down side: first room assigned, door fit poorly in the doorframe and the toilet did not flush. Second room was better, but faucet in bathroom sink was loose, and there did not appear to be any way to tighten it down. Housekeeping staff held conversations in the hallway right outside my room at 7:00 a.m. Hall; especially by entry door e was dirty, dirty, and dirty. I was unpleasantly surprised at the condition of a hotel that was supposed to be a 3-star hotel. The whole place needs renovation. It makes me wonder if corporate is just draining profits out of the place before they shut it down. If so, shame on them.”

“The first room we received was dirty, there was a large earring on the floor, proving that it had not been vacuumed and evidence that the toilet had been recently used, the staff understandingly gave us another room we arrived at the next room and the lights did not work and there was a puddle of vomit on the floor next to the bed, so we got yet another room this one was clean but there was a recent water stain from a very large flood they had early in the week. The final straw was when my fiance went to use the toilet and the toilet would not flush. That was it. We went to the front desk to leave and the woman at the front desk told us that she did not blame us for changing hotels. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We changed to the country inn and suites. ”

“I was extremely disappointed in the room. We got in later, 10:00 p.m. And the bar was already giving last call. We went out to get a bite to eat and when we returned, 11:30, we found that the air conditioner was completely broken and did not function at all. I will never stay there again. Also, a significant amount of mold in the bathroom ceiling/wall.”

• The staff was very friendly.
• Room needed updating, beds extremely uncomfortable.

“The outside of the hotel is not appeasing to the eye, the rooms need some updating and need new beds. The beds were very uncomfortable and in bad condition (the box springs had holes and tears). We stayed in a non-smoking room, but the hallway to the room reaped of cigarette smoke. The pool is small but very nice. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. Overall it was a good experience and was very close to the place where we were visiting.”

• The front desk people were extremely helpful and cooperative. The rooms where nicely located for our use of the pool.
• Our rooms were clean and neat when we checked in but daily housekeeping left a lot be desired.

“This hotel is conveniently located on I-74 in Bettendorf Iowa. Close to shopping, casinos and a Children's museum. It has a small indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna. The lobby is attractive and I would recommend this hotel to business travelers.”

• Hotel was a bit run down and in an undesirable location.

“I would consider this, at maximum, a 2-star hotel. The room was nice looking initially, but felt cheap once you got settled. The tub was beat up and paint on the bath or shower walls was peeling. The doors were paper thin, and it was very easy to hear noise through the walls. The staff was very friendly and helpful which compensated for the less-desirable qualities of the structure itself.”

• It was fun for the grand kids.
• The room was horrid, leaking water from the ceiling in the bathroom was most unpleasant.

“We were taking a short break with our grand kids, a little getaway and were appalled at the room, it was old, moldy and leaked. The restaurant was horrid, food was over cooked and cold and that was breakfast. Kids eat free was. We made good use of the pool, hot tub and the other amenities but the water dripping on you in the bathroom was a turn off, I hated picking ceiling out of my hair.”
