“Overall a great place to stay, only one minor things to say, travelling with 2 people who both work on computers and have cell phones and other electronics there werent enough outlets to plug everything in to run/charge. no big deal

• The size of the room.
• Ants in the room.

“There should not have been any ants in our room, the toilet paper holder should not have been hanging out of the wall, the bathroom could be bigger, the mini fridge should have been working properly, the ice bucket, extra blanket and sheets should have all been washed.Only one elevator was working (most of the time took the stairs) and it smelled really bad. Did not like this hotel at all, very much rather Springhill Suites which has a better complementary breakfast.”

“The room size was incredible, truly a suite, plenty of coffee, tea, sugar at the mini island. Big couch was great to hang out on & watch TV- Large flat screen TV was visible from both the beds and the couch. Would have liked a brighter, larger bathroom, but sink & mirror area was oversized and nice. It was quiet- they did offer continental breakfast and you could order/pay for hot foods, but they were pre-processed and not very good. Staff was OK- not overly friendly, but not rude either. Rooms could use a carpet cleaning, but didn't feel yucky. Enjoyed our stay- great location.”

“Large rooms that were very comfortable. It could use vending machines or room service. They do have a nice restaurant down stairs for take out but when you have an infant it is not always convenient to have to leave the room.”

• The staff and management made all the difference.

“Hyatt Place sent their own survey to which I described an odd response we had received from one of the housekeepers. The Manager, called me at home days later to apologize and offer an explanation, which in turn made perfect sense for the odd conversation we had had with the housekeeper. He did it so tactfully and wanted to make certain we understood the situation. I just so admired the way he addressed our minimal complaint. It's hard to put into words how kind and professional the manager was in contacting us except to say that I would so wish that every hotel we ever stay in have management and staff who take customer service to heart in the way this Hyatt Place obviously commits to on an continual basis, with a vested interested in the complete and total satisfaction and security of its guests. How refreshing!”

• Rooms were suites with plenty of room. It was clean and bed was very comfortable. Employees helpful and friendly.
• Breakfast offered was good. Didn't offer as much as other hotels.

• Personnel were friendly by inexperienced at this hotel.
• Not really handicapped bath, no hand rail for commode no hand shower.

“Must have just taken over the hotel staff not sure of what to do. Too, too close to I10 my husband explained to me at 4AM it was not the soothing sound of surf I was hearing.”

• All staff was happy and greeted us as we saw them.
• There was nothing negative about this hotel.

“I was extremely pleased with the hotel. Every staff member greeted us with a smile when we would pass them in the halls or wherever. You could tell they were happy with their job. The hotel was classy, clean and beautiful. I will stay at a Hyatt Place every chance I get!”

• The overall look, decor and feel of hotel was spectacular.
• The bathroom door was in the way if not fully open or closed.

“I was very pleased with my stay at the Hyatt. The price, location and room were all top notch. The toiletries were very soft and fragrant. I was impressed with the overall comfort in the room. A nice surprise was all the outlets for prime technology use. This was very useful.”

• Very impressed with the TV and it is easily accessible A/V inputs.
• The pool was very disappointing. It had a slimy growth on parts of the bottom and sides.

“Overall, this was a very nice hotel. It was a little sketchy getting in and out of the parking lot because of the location and the way traffic is routed in the area.”

• Lack of trained staff. I could tell there was a change in management as soon as I checked in.

“Very disappointed with my staff at the hotel in Baton Rouge last week. The staff was not trained and I could tell something was different. It did not feel like the very nice place I had stayed before. My room and bathroom was dirty with two dead roaches on the floor. I ask if there had been a change in management and they yes. Big mistake. All the people working could not help you for talking to someone on their cell phones.”

• Great location- breakfast was solid- huge HDTV in your room and the staff is wonderful.

“This is an excellent hotel- great location, solid breakfast in the morning, free internet, a fantastic television and room decor, great fitness facilities. I would stay here again without any doubt. Zach who works at the front desk was so friendly, knowledgeable about the area- and I saw the same thing with other folks who worked out front!”

• I liked having the couch with the divider wall for when you want to go to sleep and they don't.

• The staff work very hard at making one feel welcome. They are very helpful and aim to please.
• Had a handicap room for the first 2 nights that was not expected.

“The stay was outstanding and the pool was a blast. Breakfast is always a pleasure and I enjoy working at pool side on my laptop. What an overdue vacation for me!”

“A gentleman at the hotel made our stay great and made us feel like celebrities. The rooms were great and the beds very comfortable. The entire staff was courteous and eager to ensure that our stay was a good one. We will look for Hyatt Place in the future.”

• The decor was very nice, the pool was wonderful, and the staff very helpful.
• There was no housekeeping on the holiday I stayed.

• Pool needed cleaning.

“I've stayed at this location several times and the old Amerisuites had become badly worn. The Hyatt Place renovation is excellent. Pros: Attractive lobby and breakfast area, very comfortable bed (pillow top mattress, I think), big screen HDTV in the room, and large desk/workspace. Cons: pool was dirty, exercise room (4 cardio machines) had no cups for water dispenser, loud bathroom fan, just a general sense of inattentive staff (attention to detail). Overall though, outstanding value for the price.”

“The hotel was not ready for those that had reservations. I had to wait an hour to check-in because they were without rooms. They tried to check me into a handicapped room with holes in the ceilings and a small closet. I complained and was given another room that was filthy. Dirty toilet, make-up on bed linens, mildew in bathtub, dirty-mildew wall by the bed.”

• The interior was stunningly beautiful! The beds were so comfortable and the TV rocked!
• The hotel staff didn't explain that breakfast was for a fee and the food in the diner was ridiculously expensive.

“The Hyatt Place is a beautiful mix of modern and classical. The decor looks like a magazine. The rooms are well thought out and spacious, with fixtures that are standard in a house rather than hotel. The best part of the suite is the large flat screen TV that swivels to face either the bed or couch. The staff is friendly and helpful and the extended checkout time (noon) gives you time to sleep in.”

• The breakfast grill took a long time.

“The hotel was very nice-better than I expected. It was very comfortable for our family of four. The only problem with the room was the bed size. My husband is 6 ft 2 in tall and had to have his own bed because we could not have both fit comfortably in one. I believe the beds to be a full size bed. This was not a problem to us because the there was a sofa bed-much more comfortable than other sofa beds we have had! We all slept well!”

• I especially loved the decor and layout of the room.

“The hotel was in an excellent location. Easily accessible to adjacent interstate, across from the Mall with plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The decor was modern, slightly Asian and very clean and efficient. The staff was friendly and professional. Parking was well lighted and easily reached from the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.”

• Great location, pretty lobby and rooms.
• Floors were not clean; all of the rooms had ants in them.

“Rooms were beautiful; however, floors were filthy. There were ants on the floor in every area of the room (lots of ants). We moved to a new room which also had ants in it on the same floor. We moved again to a new floor and a new room which also had ants in it. In the last room, the air did not work either.”

• Recently renovated; the staff were gracious and eager to please.
• The breakfast bar did not have low calorie/low fat selections - i.e. non-fat cream cheese for bagels; nonfat yogurt; etc.

“Hyatt is renovating the hotel. The staff in training were eager to meet needs.”
