• Very close to my destination and well centered off the highway, extremely excellent location!
• The head of housekeeping knocked and started to come into our room while we were still in the room.

• The hotel room was nice and clean. The staff was also very friendly.

• Our beds were not cleaned from the previous occupants.

“When we checked into the room, we found that the housekeepers did not change the sheets from the previous occupants. The overall experience was not what I expected from La Quinta or the star rating of 2.5.”

• Mold growing in room with moldy smell.

“I had a quick and easy check-in process and check-out process. The woman at the desk switched my room to a ground-floor at my request so I wouldn't have to carry my racing bike up the narrow, twisting stairs. However, the room smelled moldy and there was visible black mold growing in the bathroom. Maybe the second-floor room she had wanted to put me in would not have been moldy? The linens and furniture were never looking and everything in the room worked. There was a little bit of noise from the families in the pool but I did not hear noise from any adjacent rooms. The bed had squeaky springs but it was comfortable enough for me (I usually sleep on a fairly hard bed).”

• TV worked and bath tub was nice.
• Well let's see my a/c broke they had to come in and fix it. Took about an hour. my toilet wouldn't flush right, and the room smelled sour.

“Well as far as the room being in a good location it was. I ask the girl was the food good at the restaurant next door she said yes. My a/c broke about 3p.m. and it took them an hour to fix it. Then about 11p.m. my toilet decided it wasn't going to flush right the rest of the night. And when I first open the door I had to let the room air out it smelled of old musky sour smells.”

• Located across from a great restaurant (t.j's bar-b-cue).
• Poor maintenance and CS.

“Told maintenance about tub leaking. Came by would not replace seal of drain. Same night tub leaking through drain hole (coming out of the wall all over bathroom and bedroom floor. Told front desk next morning. Came back to hotel that evening and maintenance asked how the tub was? (Obviously front desk was to busy talking about personal business w/ housekeeper to be worried about my needs as a customer. Maintenance said they would close room to repair.”

• Rooms smelled, sketchy people hanging around.

“Like most lodging options in southern Louisiana, this La Quinta fell far below expectations. My co-worker had to move rooms due to 1) a very strong, musty damp smell, and 2) when she pulled back her sheets their were mounds of dog hair on the covers and pillow. Additionally, the front desk took the sentence that it was her fault for not checking under the covers at check-in. Finally, it is very, difficult to exit the hotel to access I-10. Although the interstate is only a few yards away, the intersection where by you exit the property is located at this odd confluence of traffic which never lets up. I finally had to just pull out in front of traffic, drawing lots of angry honks. This happened almost every time I left the hotel. I stayed here because I typically have good experiences with La Quinta. There are surely better places to stay.”

“We had ants all over the floors and walls in the bathroom & sink area. The rooms were not that clean and housekeeping's daily room cleaning consisted of making the bed and that¿s it. No vacuuming or tidying up like picking up the soap paper from the sink area and thronging it in the trash.”

“For one night stay, hotel is tolerable; however, if I had to spend 2 or more nights, I would not have been comfortable with my pick. Overall, the hotel was easy to access from major interstate and put me close to LSU campus (that was important).”

• Plumbing did not work and did not get fixed.

“Although the hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly, the hotel was unacceptable. The first room we had did not have a working toilet. They moved us to another room, but the bathtub drain did not work. We reported the problem and were told it would get fixed. It was not fixed the next day either. Based on the plumbing issues in two separate rooms, we would not recommend this hotel, despite the friendly staff. The breakfast area was also very insufficient for the size of the motel. People had to stand to eat their breakfast both mornings we were there.”

• Traffic hazardous in leaving the hotel, taking a left turn. The 3rd day, housekeeping forgot my towels, soap, shampoo, & coffee.

“Cheap. Front clerk is very good, and pleasant, and the housekeeping lady was pleasant and cheerful, but the service suffers, probably from lack of enough quality staff.”

• Room smelled moldy, carpet dirty, bedspread stained, no wireless Internet.

“It just felt dirty and rundown. Our room smelled really bad. I made my children wear sock and within a short time, the bottoms of the socks were filthy. I would have expected better of a 2 star. This one is more like a 1 to 1 1/2 star in my opinion.”

“While we had already paid for this hotel and checked in, we immediately checked out and found a different hotel. As we walked to our room we immediately saw that our safety was at risk staying at this hotel due to the other people and cars in the parking lot and in the walkway by our room. We did not feel any safer in the room and we were afraid our car would be vandalized or worse. We could not stay there with small children and take the risk of our safety, so we left and paid for a different hotel. ”

• This hotel was clean and in an excellent location. The employees were friendly and helpful. The vending machines were in perfect locations.
• The directions I received to the room weren't accurate. Necessary equipment wasn't in the room.

“Overall the hotel and the stay was excellent. The employees were a bit slothful but they came through. After making a decision to remain another day they didn't work with me at all on the price so I selected another place to stay. I realize I couldn't get that price offline but some kind of discount would have been appreciated. ”

• The pool was full of bugs and cigarettes.

“I had an issue with the light in the outer bathroom area where the sink was. It did not work. I called the front desk and she said that she was the only person there and that there was nothing she could do. She said she would let someone know about it the next morning. I checked out around 11am and still did not have anyone contact me about it. I really was not pleased with that.”

“This hotel is very conveniently located. It also offers a full breakfast in the morning. I would definitely stay here again. However, I would request a room away from the pool. This area is very noisy when there are people in the pool. Furthermore, there was a washer/dryer right outside the room I was in which were very noisy as well.”

• Fellow guests looked like Katrina refugees.

“Overall, a goof value for the money paid. Hotel felt overcrowded and needed some roof repairs (leaks everywhere). Skipped breakfast - maybe a good thing. While the room was clean, the exterior needed a good, thorough cleaning. And the roof needs fixing because water drips on the stairways, making it unsafe. For the money, the hotel was just what I was looking for. ”

“It was what you would expect of a La Quinta. No frills or bells and whistles. I was a little upset because my check in time was 1:00, but they wouldn't let me check in until 2:00 because they had no rooms available, and that threw off my schedule for the day.”

“The hotel was clean. Two of the lights were flickering when we got inside the room, sort of disturbing. It was a smoking room and actually had ashtrays (every hotel that I have been to that caters to smokers usually do not have ashtrays).”

• The room was clean.
• The motel allowed a large group to make noise and disturb us throughout the night. I was sleepless in Baton Rouge.

“The hotel allowed teens to run and adults to drink in the parking lot next to our 2nd floor room. My 11:30pm complaint cut the running of the children. However, the security people allowed several adults to sit and stand around their vehicles and drink until at least 2:30am. Their noise continued to wake us throughout the night. I would encourage no one to stay at this hotel! On a scale of 0-10, this stay was a 0!”
