“Owner needs to clean up the place. It was once a nice, clean place, but is no longer. The grounds seem to be kept up, but nothing else inside seems to be clean. The overall smell was of a place that needed a deep cleaning. There were no references in the room for local services, not even a phone book. The Travelogue Franchise needs to know that this motel is bad for their name. We will probably not ever stay at Travelogue again.” Jun 26, 2009 by
Aaron from Fargo,ND
“For the money, this was a fine place to stay. It's a bit run down, but it was clean.” May 23, 2009 by
Eric from Orem,UT
“I liked the location and the service.” Apr 24, 2009 by

“Overall our stay at the Iowa City Travelodge was fantastic. The use of their wireless was very good. The accommodations far exceeded our expectations and we plan to return their as often as possible.” Dec 1, 2008 by
Mary from Elk Grove Village,IL
“We were put into a room that would have been excellent should I have had small children with me. Very inappropriate for my daughter and me.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Jessica from Iowa City, IA
“The staff was great, but the bugs were not. I am definitely afraid of spiders and found myself having to kill too many with my shoes. The crickets. do not let me go there. I will never stay there ever again. If I wanted to sleep in a room filled with bugs, I would stay in a tent.” Aug 14, 2008 by
from Taylorville, IL
“Good hotel. rooms need updated and beds need updated as well. I would stay there again.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Geoffrey from Rancho Viejo, TX
“A modest clean property priced at the correct level for amenities offered.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Venecia from Sioux City, IA
“I thought the hotel is pretty average, nothing to special about it. Good for a short trip stay.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Zee from Grand Junction, CO
“The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with directions on getting us back on the road to our destination. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had extras such as coffee maker, iron/board, hair dryer, etc. if needed.” May 28, 2008 by
Richard from Peoria, IL
“I stayed at the hotel 4 nights. It was ok, clean. The area of the hotel where I was quiet. I was disturbed and angry to return the second day to my room to find my room door ajar and unattended by the cleaning staff that was down the hall in another room. The hotel manager told me people make mistakes and I was too mad about the situation.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Peter from Winfield, NJ
“The Iowa City Travelodge was what I had expected: a 2 star hotel.” Mar 6, 2008 by
Janet from Klemme, IA
“The hotel was convenient for our purposes. The room was clean and smelled fresh. The halls were clean and entrances were convenient. There was somewhat of a draft from the outside door and a humming from the vent system in the bathroom.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Kelvin from Southeast Grand Meadow, MN
“Friendly and helpful but the place needs a little fixing up and the paring lot was icy.” Jan 27, 2008 by
Shannon from Chicago, IL
“The hotel room was dirty and cold. The refrigerator was in pieces. There was hair in the bathroom as well as little, tiny bugs. The walls were very thin. **But, the staff was very nice.” Dec 3, 2007 by
Jan from Kearney, NE
“Excellent hotel for an inexpensive night's stay.” Nov 15, 2007 by
Carmen from Lino Lakes, MN
“It was a good hotel for the weekend, since we were there to watch a football game. The only issue was that the walls were thin and you could hear people in the rooms next to you, but the for the most part, there were older people there and it was quiet pretty early at night. Staff was wonderful.” Sep 29, 2007 by
Mary from St.Louis, MO
“My two young children, 7 & 8, stayed there briefly, for one short night. I didn't really interact with the staff a great deal, although they were able to provide excellent directions once I arrived in Iowa city and realized my map quest map was bad and was lost at 12:30am. The room was dusty, but the bed linens at least were clean and crisp. Our toilet was broken. The bathtub was so filthy I would not allow my children to take a bath in it, and I hated that we had to shower in it! The free breakfast was nearly all gone by the time we woke up and checked out at 8:30. The location where we parked was downright spooky-there were no lights at all in the lot behind the hotel. Being alone with two children in a strange city, I did not find that comforting at all. But the room did the trick and provides a sleeping location for the night.” Sep 23, 2007 by
Eric from Silvis, IL
“The staff was friendly, breakfast was great, and it was easy to access the internet.” Sep 7, 2007 by
Billie from Chester, VA
“I would have liked to have gotten this hotel for a better price than I did. My husband and I had stayed in Iowa City in June and had a room much nicer for less money. When I was working to get this room at the Travelodge it was much harder to get a good price than before. When I would try a new price it would not let me change without busting myself down to a lower star hotel, I had started as high as I felt I could and I felt as if I didn't get the chance to stay in the star range I would have liked to. I would stay at this hotel again if it was the only hotel in the price range on the next visit, I would hope to get a better room at the same price or better in a 2 or 3-star hotel.” Jul 15, 2007 by
Kimberly from Elk Run Heights, IA
“We had to make a quick trip to Iowa City on the spur of the moment. The desk clerk was friendly when we checked in after 9:00 pm. The hallway and room carpets were clean. The bed spread was faded and worn, the king size bed was visually sloped in the middle and I had a hard time sleeping. This is an older facility, so there are a few structural things that could be updated as well. Next door is a neat pizza restaurant and the breakfast was pretty good. I guess the price was fitting, but the beds really need to be replaced.” Jul 6, 2007 by
Chuck from Racine, WI
“The attached restaurant was very good - comparable to TGIF or Applebees. The common area was attractive and there was 24 hour coffee. I needed a late checkout which the hotel accommodated without a problem.” Jun 29, 2007 by
Cathy from Mooresville, IN
“Overall, the hotel surpassed our expectations. The location is very easy to find and the breakfast is above the normal continental breakfast. We left feeling ready to go. Each room has a convenient door right into the parking lot for loading and unloading luggage. That is not only convenient but keep the halls quieter for everyone. Overall, a great buy for the money.” Jun 25, 2007 by
Dianna from Kansas City, MO
“This hotel was exactly what I expected. I didn't like that the parking lot backed up to a wooded area. I wasn't a fan of that. Other than that, the hotel was great.” Jun 12, 2007 by
Laurie from Waterloo, IA
“It is fine for the price for a few nights with family. I certainly wouldn't choose it for a romantic weekend with my spouse. No ambiance.” Apr 28, 2007 by
Shirley from Sarasota, FL
“This hotel is totally underrated as a 1 star. It is easily a 2 or 21/2. I have stayed in almost all the Iowa city/Coralville hotels, and it is great. Parking easy (even with a truck) and the breakfast was great, 2 waffle makers so you don't have to wait. Up grade this hotel! On that note, the Sheraton s. Stinks, small rooms, pay for parking.” Mar 27, 2007 by
Brenda from Rapid City, SD
“Older property with the pluses of that, i.e. larger rooms throughout. The staff were very friendly, but the whole hotel was very, very dirty. Machines, etc, did not work.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 3, 2006 by

“It was easy to find. Staff were friendly. Service was quick and efficient. Rooms were clean. Would have liked a mini refrigerator. Breakfast was good.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 18, 2006 by

“Part of hotel I was in was smelly, musty, had a very dirty chair in room, bugs in room, carpet was gross. Did not complain to hotel staff but just slept for the evening and left early next a.m. Please review this property (Room 134) was where I stayed. Having a bit of an allergy problem, I was wheezing and sneezing the following two days. I can understand that this was not a 5-star hotel but I do expect cleanliness when I pay for a hotel room. I'm sure it was vacuumed and cleaned but the general condition of the hotel is poor. In fact, I did not walk barefoot on the carpet in the room. The headboard for the bed was one that was attached to the wall but it was also taped together. One of the chairs in the room was very stained and dirty that it was shoved under the table in order to keep it out of site. Thanks for reviewing this hotel because other customers should not have to experience this one.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 28, 2006 by

“We were looking for a better place to stay to get away from the congestion of the Coralville loop but with the convenience of getting back to the hospital quickly. It met all of our expectations. Plus I got to watch my Stanley Cup final game.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 15, 2006 by

“A very overpriced hotel away from most things to do.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 2, 2005 by

“Overall, the room was nice, clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The pool was extremely cold and the spa was like bath water. The restaurant food was mediocre. They got our order incorrect twice. I would not recommend the restaurant, but I would recommend the hotel.” Jul 5, 2005 by
Tricia from Quincy, IL
“This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. non-smoking room was so smokie, I felt like my clothes smelled. I had called and requested two beds, non smoking, by entrance and was given a smoking room, king bed, 2cd floor initially. Bathroom door wouldn't shut, and carpet was unglued and there were bugs!” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Jul 3, 2005 by

“This was a two star choice so I didn't expect the Hilton. It was pretty close to what I expected.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.
