• It was quiet at night.
• The air unit turned to heat overnight making the room hot.

• The owners are crooks.

“These people are not worth doing business with. The hotel itself is very nice, but the owners are crooks. I have been charged for kicking a hole in a bathtub. The first I heard of this was the day after I checked out. I received a message on my answering machine threatening to call the police. I told them there was no possible way to even kick a hole in a tub in that small bathroom, and things were left alone until the day after I complained to BW International about my treatment. Then my credit card was charged for the bathtub. So not only are they charging me for something I didn't do, they're doing it in retaliation for my complaining to management.”

• There was a lot of parking.

“This is a two-star, not a three-star hotel. It is not very new. Our room had a smell to it when we entered, not from someone smoking but more like body odor. Fridge had some mold on side of it, but otherwise it was pretty clean anyway. Room was just kind of open, nothing Hotel is located at a very busy intersection of Collins & First Avenue.”

• The gentleman that greeted us at check in was very friendly and knowledgeable.
• We were given a smoking room which felt dirty.

“I will not be staying at this hotel in the future but I didn't feel it was customer friendly.”

• Comfortable beds.
• Very smoky public areas.

“Overall nice place, with the exception of the smoke smells in all public areas. Room was clean and comfortable. Overall, acceptable.”

• The night manager was friendly and had a good sense of humor. They were efficient and clean.
• The distance between the room and the continental breakfast.

• Large rooms, internet, breakfast.
• Far away from Equestrian center.

“Staff was all very friendly and courteous. Loved the room size and bathrooms. The visit was very good except for the distance we had to travel to and from Kirkwood.”

• Nice amenities, nice pool area.
• One bed and it was just a double, the shower head could be better.

“A very nice hotel that needs to be upgraded a bit. A single double bed in a room big enough for two queen size beds. Shower head needs to be replaced, very cheap.”

• The location was great. Near restaurants, shopping and business's that enhance my own (like Kinkos).
• It was clean but had that stale cigarette smoke smell in everything- including the towels.

“This hotel was nice- it was ok for business travelers- Id recommend bringing your own towels. The towels there were clean but they smelled of cigarette smoke.”

• Very small bathroom.

“Took a very long time to check in because there was only 1 desk clerk and she had to stop and keep on answering the phone. Very small bathroom. Fortunately we were only in the room to sleep so it wasn't too uncomfortable.”

• Dirty pool, and generally worn out carpets.

• Skywalk to pool smelled absolutely terrible.

“The cleaning staff was very poor, the hotel was noisy, the parking was sparse and the smell of fresh paint was overwhelming; the rooms were large and the free breakfast was good.”

• Breakfast, could upgrade to a pool room.
• Service at the restaurant was not good. Pool closed for water aerobics.

“This hotel is very nice. The restaurant has nightly specials for three dollars. I liked that we could upgrade to a pool side room. The pool was closed from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. And 9:00 - 10:00 am for water aerobics.”

• Nice recreation area pool table, foods ball, etc.
• Pool and spa were being repaired while we were there.

“Clean rooms with nice amenities. We only had one bed in our room, which made it quite spacious. Large bar size refrigerator in the room which was handy. Nice and clean. Worth the money.”

“I was very impressed with the staff, cleanliness of rooms, and over all hotel. I liked the idea of the lounges, the games to be able to stay entertained. Over all I would most definitely recommend to family and friends.”

“This hotel is in a good location, but in my opinion is not a 2 1/2 star hotel. It is not that nice. It is old, etc. In fact I find the Fairfield in cedar rapids nicer, which is rated a 2 star.”

• Strange location - off alley. But still very well lit, so I felt safe.

• The front receptionist was extremely friendly as was housekeeping.
• One female employee in the restaurant was full of attitude and borderline rude.

“Check in was quick, painless and the lady was very friendly. The room, although rather blah, was clean and the microwave, refrigerator was a nice touch. Kitty's nightclub was a stop for one drink, the female bartender that night had friends stop in that she was more interested in. The friends were obnoxious, vulgar and ran us out due to their lack of ability to act adult. Neighborhood is less than ideal with low income housing directly across from the lobby and children throwing balls up against garages and running around unsupervised. I parked on the other side of the building and had no problems. Checking out there were some undesirables just hanging out in the parking lot. The continental breakfast was very nice with more choices than I had anticipated.”
