• Smoke free, clean and neat.
• Plumbing issue with clogging problems.

“Great location and everything seems to be in working order except for some plumbing issues. Everything looks relatively new and clean. I especially like the smoke free policy throughout the establishment. However, I do believe the room that I was in, someone smoked in that room previously and the nasty smoke odor was still noticeable.”

• The people who worked there were great.
• There were kids running down the hall making noise most of the night.

“The hotel was ok for the price. The common area were beautiful. The room sheets and furniture needs updating. The bed had a motel feel and look to it. The people working there were great and friendly.”

• Convenient, ample parking, clean rooms.
• There was construction going on in the lobby area.

“We had stayed at this hotel before, however there was construction going on during our second stay (noise, dust, workers in hallway). Once construction is complete, it will be a great property once again.”

“We stayed four days and then went to New Orleans for one night and returned to same hotel. Sadly second stay the breakfast menu left a lot to be desired.”

• Ran out of hot breakfast items and did not have reordered for four of my total of 5 days there.

“Sadly Friday morning was the only morning there was any waffle mix. Pool was out of service, and maids did not clean out dresser before we arrived as we found someone else's under things in a drawer.”

“It was right off the Interstate and very convenient to where we needed to be. The linens/decor of the room, very stylish and modern. Tub a little small, but ok. Pool looked dirty. Breakfast was wonderful!”

• Not sure why it was so humid inside.

“Good size clean room, decent bed, great pillows. The breakfast will fit almost anyone, great selections. I didn't need my soap or shampoo. They supply Pantene and a good size bar soap. Will stay there again.”

• I can smell the swimming pool chemicals all over the building and it BOTHERS me. Don't they have a better smelling chemical or put pool outdoors?

“Did not receive my wake-up call on both mornings; Had feather pillows on the bed and when I requested hypoallergenic pillows, I was told that none were available; the towels were thin and felt like I was drying myself with sandpaper; did not receive Kleenex after requesting twice; did not receive shampoo and conditioner on the second night.”

• Found a cockroach in my bed and all the staff said was sorry!

“Overall, the hotel was nice. It was clean and kept up. The continental breakfast was nice too! However, I found a large cockroach in my "bed"! I brought it down to show the front desk clerk and all she said was I'm sorry. No offer for any compensation at all. That did steam me up a bit.”

“I found the person who checked me in to be totally unhelpful. I was sure that I had requested a room with two double beds. When I checked in, I was assigned a room with one king size bed. In addition to the surly clerk, the bed linens were inferior, as were the towels.”

• Did not change linens as I requested-toilet not clean.

“Check in was ok (friendly staff)-I called the front desk and asked that my linens be changed on my second night stay-it was not done. Also, the bottom on the toilet was very soiled with urine and hair. I would not recommend this hotel.”

• The breakfast bar lady was very helpful.
• This particular hotel is very ghetto.

“Wow, where do we begin? The hotel is extremely filthy. We found a pair of thong panties in our room. The staff was extremely unhelpful. We had to ask for an extra blanket five times before finally helping ourselves. We asked numerous times for a roll-a-way bed, only to be blown off each and every time. The night clerk, Nicole, could only be kind with the script she was given to repeat for each customer. She was so illiterate that she would mess up the script and would start all over again! The hotel backs up to the ghetto, as mentioned by another guest. You'll see gang-bangers standing in the streets drinking their 40's and I¿m sure I saw handguns at one point. Very bad location for a hotel! My recommendation? Pass by exit 103a and find something else!”

“This hotel is situated in a very bad neighborhood Young teenagers from the neighborhood can be found wondering the back parking area. There is no security of the area provided. While their some teenager from the neighborhood shattered our car window just for the fun of it.”

• The expanded continental breakfast was tops.
• Louisiana highways are insane.

“We were very pleased with our stay at the Fairfield Inn Lafayette. The beds were very comfortable -- each with four pillows! The room was spotless. The bathroom was especially clean. On arrival, the attendant at the desk had me checked in and ready to go in less than two minutes. There's a small indoor pool and Jacuzzi -- if I'd realized that, I would have brought my suit. Breakfast was great, with egg-cheese-and-bacon biscuits, chocolate milk, oatmeal, grits, hard boiled eggs, coffee, apple and orange juice, yogurt, lots of fresh fruit, fresh Danishes, bagels, toast, and condiments -- thought the Belgian waffle maker was broken. The staff even checked in on us in the afternoon to make sure our room had been made correctly and that we had enough towels. We were extremely pleased.”

• Beds were comfy, breakfast acceptable.
• Musty, humid room, bloodstained sheet, dirty, cloudy pool, broken exercise equipment.

“The only good thing about this hotel was the beds. They were obviously new, and comfortable. However, this place needs a major renovation. The rooms were very damp and musty. The bathroom door wouldn't shut. We had to go to the desk to get soap and towels. The pool and exercise room need major work. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.”
