• Great feel and eye appeal, easy access & clean
• Noisy-noisy-noisy, small bathroom, did I say noisy

“When I drove up to this hotel I had great expectations for the two nights I would be there. It was easy access from the performing arts center and located within an easy drive to all types of eating places and shopping. The room was quite large and inviting with a spa like feel. However, I was quickly disappointed as soon as I walked into the bathroom. I could stand in the center of the bathroom and touch the mirror over the sink and the outside wall of the shower. Very uncomfortable and very confining. But I accepted that and settled in for the night. Again I was disappointed in hearing the adjoining room occupants talking and doors shutting and opening most of the evening and into the late night. For that night and the next night I listened to muffled conversations and wild partying ending on early Sunday morning with some drunk wedding guest singing at the top of his lungs to help send off the bride and groom (who according to the people with the singer that leave some 4 hours earlier). Needle less to say my stay the the Hilton Lafayette was not my best hotel experience. However, when I spoke to the desk personnel on check-out, I was told that if I had called the front desk to complain that I would have been moved to another room if one was available. I thanked them and left.”

• Each time that I've stayed
  at this one, the beds have been comfortable; not saggy or soft.

“When I mentioned that I had grandkids coming over to visit & swim, it wasn't a problem and they brought extra towels for the pool. The room's are nice size and clean.”

• Laid back cozy in a nice place cheerful employees.
• Hilton needs to spend a littlle $ and spruce it up a bit.

“Overall nice and comfortable, friendly staff
- the facility needs an update and new fixtures - whether it be the front door handles to the hotel to bathroom fixtures - it is very clean though which is a testament to the staff. The restaurant needs to learn how to make scrambled eggs - on the the buffet they were particulated - almost like grits - also the bacon and sausage on the buffet were cold.”

• The room and staff was good.
• Noise, pet in room next door, ice machine not working, unsatisfactory coffee maker.

“Overall, we were pleased with the hotel. Circumstances put us there on a prom weekend, which was not good for parking, noise, etc. However, it was not the young folks but the rowdy bunch who came out of the bar at 2:00 am and caused enough commotion in the parking lot (drunks fighting and cursing) to wake us up. (And we were on the 6th floor!) A room on the river side of the hotel would have been quieter. The fancy coffee maker (Cuisinart) that made two different kinds of coffee at one time, did not work at all. We had to keep restarting in and only a tablespoon or two of coffee would come out. Took a long time to get a cup! The elevators were slow, halls noisy, but overall, it was good value for the money.”

• The hotel is located close to many restaurants, etc.
• Parking on weekends is a problem for hotel guests due to bar patrons.

“My family has stayed in this hotel several times. The hotel staff has always been helpful and the rooms are nice. The hotel is always clean and I have never had a problem with my room. The only issue that I have encountered is there is a definite parking problem on the weekend. I travel with 2 handicapped children who have a problem walking the distance that we are required to park. There should be parking reserved for hotel guests where the bar patrons are not allowed to park or the hotel should offer Valet parking at no additional charge to its guests. I have spoken to the management on more then one occasion regarding this issue.”

“Nice hotel overall, but its location is such that access to and from the hotel is onto a very busy road, and it sometimes took a number of minutes just to get out. I don't think there should be sleeping rooms across from the meeting rooms.

• The lobby furniture need cleaning and the staff was dry!

“The furniture and rugs in the lobby were dirty. The staff was dry. My rooms were not cleaned (When we left the hotel housekeeping was cleaning the rooms next to and across from ours). When I called the front desk about fresh towels it took 2 hours for housekeeping to bring those towels. Most of the machines in the fitness were not working properly. Visiting this hotel again would not be my first choice.”

“Beds are comfortable, hotel appears clean, rooms are not cool and takes about 10 good hours to get them cool. Hotel staff was quick to read my note with tip attached but overlooked the note taped to the thermostat to not move off of 65 degrees. They moved it up to 72 which may be hotel policy, but if it is my room for the stay then I expect it to remain on what I set it especially when I attach a note and leave a tip. Room was not cleaned until 6 pm in the evening and I requested early housekeeping at the front desk. I will be hard pressed to stay here again in the summer months.”

• The room was large, comfortable and tastefully decorated.
• The restaurant offered breakfast, but it was disappointing and pricey.

“We enjoyed our two nights at the Lafayette Hilton. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The pool area overlooks a waterway which proved to be an excellent place to relax and enjoy the boats passing by. The Hilton's bar provided a stress free environment to have a night cap.”

“The hotel was very nice in general. The room was ready on time, there was no wait to check in, all employees were courteous, and the room was clean and made up nicely. The coffee maker was a nice touch. The batteries in the TV remote needed to be changed but I guess that's probably something that they don't check for but may be a nice touch to start doing.”

• Being able to stay on the 1st floor by the pool which gave me easy access to outside without having to wait for slow elevators.
• Even though we lowered the temperature to 59%, it's stayed warm in the room. I'd say it was about 79% or 80%.

“Good location, comfortable beds, room service workers were very nice. There needs to be a sign made for all rooms to inform guests that the in room coffee pot shut off switch is connected to the bathroom wall outlet plug. We made coffee once after that was not able to turn pot back on; even tried unplugging. Desk clerk said she would tell them to bring another pot but, never saw it. Cleaning lady came by around 3:00 pm, they didn't know anything about it. The maintenance guy passed by and told us about the switch.”

• All hotels suffer from rude guests, and there were loud people in the adjoining rooms.

“Great place. One of the best deals on Priceline. On this visit, there were loud people in the adjoining rooms. All hotels need to remind guests that the rooms are BEDrooms. Other than that, I always look forward to my stay here.”

• The bathroom was small. hard to bathe two kids in.

“I've never stayed in a Hilton before - for my first stay, this one was fine. The hotel was in a decent location. We were not there long and we all had the flu during the stay. We did not use the restaurant/bar/lounge areas, but they looked nice and had we not had kids or had more money, we probably would have at least ordered room service. The rooms were a nice size and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was ok - no one to help us with our luggage when we arrived, but no big deal really. Overall it was a pleasant stay aside from being sick.”

“This is a polished, comfortable hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff was professional and friendly and very accommodating. They new the city well and helped willingly with driving directions and ideas on places to eat. Overall, a fantastic place to stay.”

• I thought we were going to have robes in our room and there were not.

• Bed comfort, convenience of personal coffee pot in Room.
• Windy nights awaken by annoyance of a siren sound in patio door. Closed Patio door and locked it tight. Noise continued.

• The front desk was not helpful when asked about entertainment or dining locations.

“The rooms were nice, comfortable, and clean. Elevators were in a convenient location and easy access. The only negative was when I asked about entertainment in the area or places to eat the front desk were not helpful. They gave short answers just to make me move on.”
