• Very clean and quiet rooms. Excellent location once you figure out the roads.

“Very nice stay. The rooms were very clean and the hotel made an impression of cleanliness. The beds were roomy and comfortable. The hotel is in a busy part of town (between highway 63 and I70) but the rooms were quiet and we slept well. I would definitely recommend this hotel in the future.”

• It was close to our son's house.
• Not enough variety in the continental breakfast; mostly carbohydrates, not much dairy or protein.

“The hotel was clean an comfortable. The room was nice, except that the vanity faucet (single-lever ball) could not be adjusted to warm or cool; it was either hot or cold. We reported it to the hotel and they offered to give us a different room, but we decided to tolerate it. The exercise room is fairly new (as of May, 2009), so the equipment was top-notch: treadmill, recumbent bike and universal gym. One minor drawback is that the list of cable TV channels was very short: about 25 stations including six or eight local access channels. And the was no schedule channel.”

• Convenient to many restaurants.
• My room overlooked a noisy gas station; room should have been cleaner.

“While the bathroom and vanity area were clean, the rest of the room was not so much. The carpet needed a better job of vacuuming, blankets had cigarette burns and stains on them. I've stayed at cheaper places that were nicer than this place.”

• Convince.
• Having to plugged our clogged toilet that didn't work from day one.

“We were very unhappy the staff did not offer to help us with our toilet and/or offer a different room. We understand things happen with toilets but in a hotel you do not expect to have to take care of it yourselves. We also witnessed others having the same problem and it seemed the staff was making no effort to call a professorial.”

• Stain on bathroom ceiling, Smell in bathroom, payment mix-up.

“Highway noise at night. Could hear guest above us stomping around all night. Flat pillows. Price was okay. Breakfast in morning was good. Mildew smell in bathroom and stain on bathroom ceiling and wall. Bad calk job in shower.”

• Friendly staff, very clean rooms.
• Nothing really significant, just the refrigerator wasn't working.

“We stayed at this hotel as a halfway point between Kansas and Ohio, and it was very comfortable, clean, and fairly quiet even though it was a little close to the interstate highway. Great overall stay!”

• Friendly, capable staff that performed well under the circumstances of firefighters checking out rooms because of a smoke/fire alarm that went off.
• The lobby floor was being replaced which was a little inconvenient.

• Clean, well maintained, centrally located, well staffed.
• Ice machine inoperative on my floor.

“One of the best values in Columbia, MO. Rooms and public areas were clean and neat. Staff was friendly/helpful. The room was quiet, and comfortable without a hint of cigarette smoke. There was a lot of contractor maintenance - replacing carpets, etc, but it was not intrusive. In fact it points out La Quinta's focus on maintaining first-class facilities. The only complaint was having to go next door to use the ice machine but when I told the staff the machine on my floor was inoperative, they jumped on the problem.”

• Good continental breakfast.
• We wanted a double room, non-smoking, but did not get what we wanted.

“The layout was a little inconvenient. There were wires hanging from a missing smoke detector. We didn't have enough washcloths, and there weren't enough sheets and pillows to make the pullout bed.”

• Staff was more than helpful. Gave great suggestions on where to eat, etc.
• Everything was fine.
