• The second day I was able to move to a non-smoking room.
• Smoking room and attitude of clerk on arrival.

“This hotel was well kept, clean and I would absolutely stay there again provided I received a guarantee of a non-smoking room. When I walked in to check in (around 5:00), the lady behind the desk said, we are full and you got a smoking room. The next day I called the desk and talked to a nice girl who was able to move me 2 doors down to a non-smoking room and the stay was much better.”

“Good hotel if you're just looking for a place to sleep. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Its located right off the highway and is very close to a large mall.”

“Would not stay there again. Have allergies and the first room smelt of pet orders. They moved us to another room and it was better but still had that same oder! Staff was friendly, and service was good! To bad about the smell.”

• Smoker smell everywhere - need better ventilation.

“When I arrived were assigned another room- told 1st come-1st served. Found out a friend of ours got our room because they didn't like theirs. Needed to move rooms because we added a day. Given smoking rooms both times.”

• The room reeked of smoke and we had to sleep 3 to the bed.

“The smoke was so bad in the room that we had to find a laundry and wash our clothes the next day. We had three people sleeping in a king-size bed.”

• Not very noise proof.

“We were given a 2nd floor room and while we were unloading the guest below us complained bitterly and in turn management was angry at us. The thing is, is that it wasn't our voices because we weren't talking, and it was just the sound of our movement in and out of the room.”

• I liked the pool.
• The toilet smelled like it hadn't been cleaned, front desk not friendly at checkout.

“You could smell the stink of a toilet that hadn't been cleaned. The lady at the front desk was not very friendly The motel room looked to be decorated in the 70's.”

• No nonsmoking rooms available.

“The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the breakfast was ok. The smell of smoke was very strong. It was difficult for me to rate the quality of the motel because of the cigarette smell. I have friends who smoke and I am frequently in homes where there is cigarette smoke and it doesn't usually bother me but this room was bad.”

• Pool had adult hour after children left.
• It mixed the smoking and non-smoking rooms together. You could smell the smoke everywhere.

“I didn't like the fact that the smoking and non-smoking rooms were intermingled. If a cigarette was burning, you could smell it throughout the entire hotel.”

“I called early afternoon on day of check in and was told only smoking avail. They were booked and so I ended up in stinking room with nothing to relieve smell. Clerk told me an ozone machine could have been in room before my arrival if they'd have known. They did know from my earlier call! He said couldn't put it in room while I was in there. All of my things were completely saturated. Sore throat. Unpleasant. Also, tub drain broken so couldn't use tub.”

• There was a lady at the front desk was vary nice.
• They dont deal with there problems in a professional matter.

“I would like for this hotel to become more aware of speaking to the customer before kicking out of there room and I was not even the problem did not know about the problem tell the next morning when they told me and my wife we could not stay the next night.”

“The motel was generally good for the price and location. It had no amenities. We booked non smoking rooms and they didn't have them when we arrived. Promised to put an air purifier in the room but didn't.”

• Tasteful decor, mini-fridge and microwave in room.
• Located between a car wash and a fast food restaurant.

“The room was immaculate and nicely furnished. The complimentary continental breakfast was efficient and the staff kept the buffet well stocked, neat and clean. Although the hotel is wedged between a car wash and a fast food restaurant, it was quiet and convenient to shopping and sites around Waterloo.”

• Pool was a little small for a large group of people to use.

• Good location, friendly & helpful staff.
• Facial hair in on bathroom towels, two double beds.

“I think next time I will go to Sam's Club Travel. I could have got a nicer room, and I would not have been stuck with two double beds. This property had several rooms available with a king size bed and a nice big desk. Sam's also does not charge a fee for their services. If I was given a better room for what I paid, it may have made a difference in the outcome of this situation. This shouldn't have been a major issue for a facility that several rooms available, especially on a Monday night.”

• Air very dry in room, new staff gave us smoking room instead of non smoking (did fix it though).

“The hotel was a good choice for us. We will be visiting the Northern Iowa campus several times in the next few years, so we will probably keep using this hotel. The breakfast was really pretty good. The hotel is located right next to the main mall in the area and several eating choices. No complaints.”

“Room was just uncomfortable. Couldn't get comfy in the beds, couldn't get the temperature just right, the plumbing was just loud enough to be a problem. No issues with cleanliness or the staff, but maybe I'm spoiled by staying in nicer rooms.”

“Not one of the better Comfort Inns I've stayed in. Little things (isn't it always!) like the quality of toilet paper, pillows were a little old, towels not quite fluffy enough. Fair to good.”
