“The hotel is poorly maintained. We had a roof leak that soaked our bed in the middle of the night, filling an entire trash can with water. We were moved to another room that had no heat. Staff was friendly but the poor condition of the hotel resulted in an unsatisfactory experience.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Donna from Washington, MO
“This hotel is adequate. That is a good word for it. The room was clean, but the bathroom was in need of updating. The shower had damage to the floor and it is apparent that nothing has been done in this room for years other than painting and putting up a new shower curtain. As with most foreign owned hotels in Missouri, they spend as little as possible to make it inhabitable. The location is not convenient and the breakfast is sparse.” May 6, 2008 by
James from Columbus, NE
“Exactly what I expected for the money I paid. Met our needs nicely and breakfast was adequate. No complaints from me.” Apr 29, 2008 by
E.T. from Houston, TX
“I was not fond of this because of the strong smell. Otherwise, I definitely feel I got my money's worth. The staff was sharp and appropriately friendly and attentive.” Mar 16, 2008 by
J. C. from Ellisville, MO
“The staff was accommodating but I would not recommend this particular travel lodge to anyone. 1) Dirty 2) Needs updating 3) Ad. Stated refrigerator and microwave. While the room had these items, they were just placed on the floor. 4) The heater was a dual purpose unit and was also an air-conditioner. The thermostat was broken and therefore we either had it on low heat or off. We were either burning up or freezing during the night.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Lynette from Springfield, IL
“It was what we expected for what we paid--a great deal. We would do it again.” Nov 9, 2007 by
Darwin from Louisa, KY
“It was very nasty in the room with carpet that was supposed to be red but was black and mold in the bathroom. A very bad experience for me.” Nov 2, 2007 by
Pam from Fenton, MO
“We really enjoyed our trip and the staff was fantastic.” Sep 4, 2007 by
Sandy from Evansville, WI
“The hotel room was very "used." Heavy wear marks in carpet, furniture dinged up, wear marks in shower/tub, very dirty around all the edges, cracks in the wall. I would not recommend this hotel.” Jun 26, 2007 by
Missy from Blue Springs
“I will try and keep this short. The rooms were filthy with part of our group having bites on them when they got up in the morning. On the comforter. Mgmt took out a baggie full of bugs and stated most of them were roly-poly that he didn't know what the problem was. My toilet overflowed and they left feces on my floor for an entire day and that is only because I stayed on them to clean it or it would still be there. Just as importantly, security was pitiful. After housekeeping came to clean after many times of hounding them (a 3 day stay, some people never got any service), electronic devices were mysteriously missing. Everyone can draw their own conclusions, I have. No one was in that room except housekeeping.” Jun 11, 2007 by
Bart from Wichita, KS
“This is a good hotel. I had no problems and the staff was friendly.” May 3, 2007 by
Rod from Charleston, MO
“We had read some horrid reviews of this hotel and, frankly, were worried. However, we found it to be all we could ask. The carpet was noticeably worn in the walk areas, but that's the only flaw I could find in this hotel, and that's so minor I would not even mention it were it not for the fact that I wanted to highlight that's the only "problem" we found. I would stay there again with no hesitation. It was clean, the staff was professional and courteous, it was safe, well-lit, convenient, services were as advertised. We were just very well pleased.” Apr 21, 2007 by
Lori S. from Linn Creek, MO
“Thought this was a great stay with wireless internet and close to everything in town. I was pleased for the price.” Apr 20, 2007 by
Walter from Brookfield, MO
“I would have almost preferred a sleeping bag and a tent as I think I would have slept better. The street noise and the noise from other rooms were continuous through the night. I wanted to iron my pants before work and found no iron or ironing board. It was cheap however, and you get what you pay for.” Mar 7, 2007 by
Davis from Owensboro, KY
“Good place to stay for the money. Would be hard to pay a higher rate like they charge sometimes.” Mar 1, 2007 by
Jennifer from Dearborn, MO
“This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in I will not ever stay in a Travelodge again and I would not recommend it for my worst enemies dog.” Jan 20, 2007 by
Jeffery from Hattiesburg, MS
“I stayed here fully expecting a 1 star experience, but was disappointed with even that. The advertised internet access was "broken indefinitely" and the cable was "malfunctioning with no idea when it will be fixed". This of course, was for me to find out later, not to be told when I checked in. The "free continental breakfast" was, at 8:30am with only maybe 15 other guests at the hotel, half a stale pot of coffee, 2 honey buns, and two shriveled dry biscuits with about an inch of white gravy in a crock pot. 8:30am? I would have expected that at 10pm. 1 star typically means nothing fancy but all the general things you expect at a hotel. Sadly, this 1-star is dirty, smelly, old, and provided none of the amenities that advertised. Stay anywhere but here!” Oct 26, 2006 by
Ranae from Knoxville, IA
“This hotel was dirty and very unfriendly. I wanted to upgrade and the owner/manager said no.” Oct 5, 2006 by
Walter from Liberty Lake, WA
“The hotel is old and it needs to be remodeled, the nonsmoking room smelled like smoke so bad that I will probably get lung cancer.” Oct 4, 2006 by
John from Peoria, IL
“Typical low end motel. Breakfast might as well not exist for all it was worth. There was never hot water. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. How it ever got a "star" rating is beyond me.” Aug 28, 2006 by
Doreen from Fridley, MN
“It was terrible. Do not stay there. There were bugs everywhere live and dead. Food on the walls. It was disgusting. On the door frame to bathroom, I didn't know if it was ketchup or blood. I let the front desk know, and they didn't even come to clean it u” Aug 28, 2006 by
Doreen from Minnesota
“There were bugs, live and dead. Food stains on walls. TV reception was terrible. Shower was ok if you were 4' tall. Don't know if it were ketchup or blood on door frame of bathroom. I was never so happy to check out of that motel. Do not recommend I” Aug 8, 2006 by
Cindy from Columbia, MO
“For the price, I can't complain much, but the room felt damp, had a funny smell if the A/C didn't run constantly, dirty carpet near baseboards. I was there for a week and only requesting housekeeping once, they did do a good job in my room during my stay” Aug 6, 2006 by
Aaron from Wildwood, MO
“You get what you pay for. The property is worn out, but affordable.” Jun 12, 2006 by
Bart from Wichita, KS
“This is a good place to stay, but don't expect much.” Jun 9, 2006 by
Diana from Chagrin Falls, OH
“Best as a truckers stop. Too close to freeway and dirty.” Jun 5, 2006 by
Laura from Kirksville, MO
“It was worth the $25.00 a night I paid for but would not pay any more for it!!” May 21, 2006 by
Steven &. from Rapid City, SD
“The hotel was NOT clean. The TV remote control did not work, and they had no batteries or replacements when one was requested. We were locked out of our room on Day 2 of a three-day trip because the clerk failed to program the card key properly. They did not clean the room on Day 2 -- we had to go to the front desk and request clean towels and toilet paper. We were placed in the far rear area of the hotel, beside people that apparently lived in the hotel and kept very late hours -- partying in the parking lot. We will never, ever reserve a room with Travel Lodge on-line again.” May 15, 2006 by
C from Columbia, MO
“Good location, right off the interstate and inexpensive. But could use some updating in the bathroom and sink area. The sink was clogged and filled with water quickly. The tub had been scuffed and felt like it was crusty stuff that you were stepping on during the shower. The faucets and handles were slightly corroded probably just showing age, but felt unclean...” May 12, 2006 by
Carla from Springfield, MO
“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.” May 10, 2006 by
Connie from Rolla, MO
“Clean no frills room. Bed and pillows were better than most, coffee maker, shower spray sucked.” Apr 30, 2006 by
Andrea from Princeton, IN
“I stayed here just as a stop over in between days. I came in late and left the next morning. But I had 2 rooms one of our bathrooms tub had soap scum on it like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The other was fairly clean, not too bad.” Mar 29, 2006 by
Vince from Springfield, MO
“Pretty good location. Can get anywhere in about 10 minutes. Great staff and overall a good quality hotel.” Mar 27, 2006 by
Carolina from St. Peters, MO
“One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The shower head was broken so when I went to take a shower water flew everywhere. Also the drain was so clogged that I had water about 5 inches up my leg before I was done showering. The heater knobs were broken off so it was very hard to adjust the temperature. The remote control for the TV was broken so we had to get out of bed anytime we wanted to turn the volume up or down or change the channel. The sheets were WAY to small for the bed, only reaching about 2 inches down the side of the mattress, so needless to say they were constantly slipping off the mattress. The front desk couldn't or wouldn't help as there was only 1 old lady working at the hotel that night. She seemed confused and flustered when I just asked for a wake up call. It does not appear that they have even tried to keep maintenance up at this hotel. We couldn't wait to check out.” Mar 1, 2006 by
Dennis from Warrington, PA
“Great place for the price.” Feb 28, 2006 by
D from Florissant, MO
“The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.” Feb 10, 2006 by
Jenna from Sedalia
“I wish I would have found this hotel sooner! The staff was so nice, especially since I forgot some of my usual travel things. They gave me a new toothbrush and a sewing kit, buttons always fall off when you least expect it. This is the first hotel I have been to that has cookies in the lobby. Otis Spunkmeyer of all things. By the time I checked in, I was definitely ready for a sugar rush. The rooms were clean, easy to get to, etc. Breakfast was good, too. Thank you for a wonderful stay!” Dec 13, 2005 by
Misty from Eldon, MO
“All in all, a good place to sleep. Room was clean, but shoddy craftsmanship led to a dingy look.”
