• Business Traveler convenient, breakfast, lots of soft pillows.
• 2/3 of rooms have no refrigerator, not up to Marriott standards.

“My husband and I have been staying in Marriotts for over 10 years. We understand that the "courtyard" part of the chain is more "down market" and meant to be less expensive and appeal to business travelers, who don't spend all that much time at a hotel. This hotel is by far the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. The staff is not at fault - they try hard and are very pleasant. I am assuming the fault lies with the management. It's a bit run down, but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. A plus is the generous number of soft pillows and nice comforters. Negatives1) no refrigerators. I was told when I called to complain that only rooms on the first floor get refrigerators. The first day there were no extras available. We were told they would look for one. We called back and we were promised one the next day. When no fridge appeared by 4pm the next day. We called again and were told they would look for one. They called me back and told me the house staff was all in a meeting and when they were done, they would look for one for me. When we went to our room to check in, we could hear water running somewhere. We searched and found a drain pipe behind the ice machine draining water at a pretty fast rate. We didn't say anything to anyone, because we didn't realize it meant anything. We checked in early, so there were house cleaners on the floor, who had to have heard the loud and strange sound of running water. They did fix the ice maker right away once I let them know, but still. Positives Breakfast - no dry or lumpy eggs here. Bacon cooked to an exact crisp. Delicious orange juice in big glasses. $11 is kind of a lot for breakfast, but it is very good. Friendly staff Good location for business travelers If you are traveling to Little Rock and want a nice Marriott experience, spend the extra $ and stay at the Downtown location, which has the added bonus of being in the River Market district, in walking distance of shops, nice restaurants and interesting bars.”

• The hotel was very easy to find with many amenities nearby.
• There was no WIFI, only hardwire available.

“The hotel was very clean. The front desk staff that I dealt with were not overly personable, but they got the job done. What they could use is something besides a 'closet' for an in house store. Food was very good and the Internet worked well though it wasn't wireless.”

• The staff at check in was not overly helpful with a room key situation.

• Very comfortable beds.
• Hotel won't let you switch from a King to 2 double beds.

“They gave us a king size bed when we wanted two double beds. The hotel wouldn't change it to 2 double beds without charging me extra per night. The Holiday Inn in Joplin did it for us the night before for no charge.”

• Room was cramped, not enough room once sofa bed as let out.

“Over all it was a pleasant stay. Check in time was after 4 PM which was inconvenient; an earlier time would have been better. The King room with sofa bed was too small to fully enjoy stretching out and playing with our Grandson. If we were traveling as a couple without children it would have been fine but it did not give ample room to move around easily with the children.”

“My room was canceled by the hotel before I arrived. They said that I had called and canceled the room myself. In fact, they were selling out for the day, wanted my room for a higher rate, and sold it out from under me. They offered no assistance in helping me find another room in their hotel or somewhere else. I would never recommend this hotel or its staff to anyone. I will be reporting this franchise to corporate Marriott.”

• The Manager at the front desk unwillingness to give us a room with double beds without an additional cost.

“I was very disappointed that I and my family were unable to get a double bed during our stay. When I made my reservation, I requested double beds. However, the Courtyard Marriott was unwilling to change our reservation without our having to pay more for the room. All other hotels that we stayed at during this same vacation, gave us a room with double beds without their being a problem and without us having to pay more per night. Very Unhappy!”

• Clean. Room was nice size. We used the fold out sofa.
• We asked for a double but they only had king rooms. It did not matter when we found that they had a sofa that made into a bed.

• Kids highly disappointed that pool was not open yet in high 80's weather b/c health dept. hadn't approved yet. What's up with that?

“Nice, clean sharp hotel. beds were wonderfully soft. great for business travelers. Plugged up laptop easily w/high speed cable. Staff was helpful, even though most of them were new and needed to ask others for answers to my questions. Kids and us were disappointed that the Health Dept. had not approved the pool's opening yet, so we could not swim even when the weather was hot in the high 80's and muggy.”

“We stayed in a new holiday inn express the night before and the room was much larger and had a nice continental breakfast that was included with price. The breakfast here was not worth the price they charged and our bed was turn toward the window with a TV on the right side of the bed, which I felt seems kind of strange. Room was really small.”

• The beds were very comfortable.
• Courtyard used to be all-suite, now the sofa bed is in the same room as the queen bed.

“This has always been a quality hotel. Expect experienced staff, quick service and enough amenities. However, its financial center parkway location requires dealing with heavy traffic most of the day, and gridlock during rush hour. Plan on making a right turn out of the hotel at those times, and going around the block to get back in.”

• We liked the location. The area is clean and we felt safe there.
• We did not like that the hotel did not serve continental breakfast.

• Very clean and the non smoking area was really free of smoke.
• No microwave at all not even in the lobby and breakfast area. No way to heat up anything for a little child or some frozen lunch and snack.

• Elevator available on the side door entry nearest the parking lot.
• Construction in the front lobby; but the good news is that it is improving.

“Convenient for my travel needs, but in the financial center, so it is probably not advisable if you are vacationing, and staying an extended period. It was great as a stopping place for a one night stay or great for a business traveler.”

• rooms a bit shabby for a Courtyard & loud packs of college kids

“An adequate business-class property. Our stay was marred by a large group of noisy college kids. Staff was largely indifferent to our complaints. Also, our room was apparently used while we were out, as newspaper was left and bed sat on at least two days. Mold in shower, older furniture & little TV; Courtyards are usually nicer.”

• I enjoyed having real glass glasses instead of plastic or Styrofoam
• I did not like the extra charges like for local phone calls and bottled water.

“It was a really nice stay. I enjoyed the closet space and bathroom size. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was really easy to find, especially since I had never been to Little Rock before.”

• The mattresses could be better.

“Courteous, clean, and consistent are the hallmarks of this hotel and the entire Courtyard chain. The rooms are functional and comfortable. Free high speed internet access is a definite plus. The beds are comfortable, but not extravagant. A full mattress would be nice.”

• The lobby and facility was nice, but our room was in need of redecorating. We did not think it measured up to Marriott standards.

“The hotel was attractive from the outside and the entrance and lobby were very nice. The courtyard was lovely. Landscaping was very nice. Our room appeared very worn. Location of TV was not conducive to watching TV in bed. It just did not appear to uphold a 2.5 star rating. The night clerk was very pleasant and helpful in recommending local restaurants.”
