“Horrible beds, no extra, well, anything, it was very basic and I could have stayed down the road for half the price and gotten the exact same thing.” Sep 11, 2009 by
Matt from Cedar Rapids,IA
“The hotel staff are amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. Great location, shuttle to Mayo, free parking. Excellent for a longer stay with a kitchenette in the room. Very Pleased.” Mar 19, 2009 by
Daryl from Ossian,IN
“No shampoo, internet cost, no breakfast.” Feb 20, 2009 by
Dennis from Wautoma,WI
“Excellent hotel, but a little bit off the main highway. Takes an extra couple of minutes to hit the major highway.” Dec 11, 2008 by
Jackie from Rapid City,SD
“This hotel was clean and the kitchen was wonderful. There is no pool and the front doors are hard to enter with bags because there was no automatic open or a button to push to open the doors. Also, the hotel was in a nice location but hard to access.” Nov 17, 2008 by
Brenda from Larned,KS “The hotel was great, although we did not need to stay the extra night. We gave that night up and decided to drive part of the 12 hour drive home so ended up with paying two hotel bills that night. The hotel was great for what we were in town for. The shuttle was great to get to the clinic and also close enough to drive. Thanks!” Oct 21, 2008 by

“Poor hotel.” Sep 19, 2008 by

“We worried about the noise from the adjacent 4-lane but could not hear traffic at all. It was a very nice and quiet room. Exceptionally clean.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Charlie
“I have stayed in both Extended Stay North and South and they are both clean and have friendly staff. The only complaint I would have is the ES South locating to a main street, you have to go out of your way to get to a main street.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Mark from Delano, MN
“If you read the above you get my experience. I have no desire what so ever to sleep with my business partner and I will not be put in this kind of situation again.” Jul 23, 2008 by
John from Wi Rapids, WI
“NA.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Steven G. from Braintree, MA
“Staff is friendly but not competent in handling a speedy check in. Waited nearly an hour for 2 other guests to check in before me. Room was so basic, no closest door, cheap bed, sheets pillow etc, smallest TV Ive ever seen in a motel. I wouldn't pay $10 a night for place like this.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Brad from Eagan, MN
“The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I had a first floor room that was nice. I liked that the shower head in the bathroom was mounted higher than any other bathroom of any hotel I have ever stayed at. That was good for me. At six feet tall I didn't have to bend over to wash my hair. But because of the squeaky floor in the room above mine, I wouldn't prefer to stay there again. I would request a third floor room upon check-in. A good night's sleep is important to me especially when traveling.” May 17, 2008 by
Jolene from Rochester, MN
“It is a great place for long stay guest. I am glad I didn't pay the normal cost of the room because it hasn't been updated for quite some time.” May 8, 2008 by
Donald
“Overall we like this type of hotel with suite facilities.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Janet
“I always try to stay at Extended Stay when I have to make trips to Mayo Clinic. After chemo treatments it is nice to go back to a quiet, relaxing room.” Mar 6, 2008 by
Deb
“Basic facility meant for self-sufficiency, clearly geared to business travelers or families w/patients at the Mayo Clinic. Lobby & elevator smells were not pleasant, hospital-like & vinegar. We were on a family recreational, 1 night trip so VERY DISAPPOINTED-not a good match for us-no pool, movies to rent,or recreation so spent as much time away from hotel as possible. Perhaps customer profiles could be used to determine nature of travel to equal a better fit.” Dec 28, 2007 by
Arit
“I really like that they had a kitchen in the hotel room. The staff was friendly and I totally enjoyed my stay.” Nov 6, 2007 by

“Hotel is good in every way except the hard beds! Not real close to any restraunts but GREAT value for the money.” Oct 15, 2007 by
Kerri
“This hotel was a great value and perfect for our two adult stay. The staff was fun and friendly, even the after 11pm late arrival service. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, even the bed was comfortable for an ecomomy hotel. The kitchenette conveniences were a nice plus and the appearance of the hotel was nice. I was surprised to see all the seasonal newly planted flowers out front. It was an inviting and modern hotel for the money.” Oct 11, 2007 by
Richard
“It was a little under staffed but she really worked hard to keep everyone pleased.” Sep 16, 2007 by
Rebecca
“If you are in need of a hotel during a medical stay this is the hotel for you and/or your family. Just what I was looking for and close to resturants and shopping centers.” Sep 7, 2007 by
Cindy
“With some minor adjustments this hotel could be great. it was relatively new, quiet, clean, roomy, comfortable. part of hotel staff very good, night staff marginal.” Aug 4, 2007 by
Mary
“Great place to stay if you do not need a pool or other extras. Beds were very comfortable, room was clean and facility quiet. Benefit of small kitchen was a great plus. I would definately recommend!” Jul 31, 2007 by
Naomi
“I will look for this hotel in the future when staying somewhere for extended periods of time. I liked the fact we had a kitchenette for healthy and economical eating. Our coffee pot and toaster were not real clean but everything else was perfect.” May 25, 2007 by
Shirley
“This motel was very comfortable, lots of room, very clean and neat. The bed was even comfortable and it also had a recliner that worked good for me. The bathroom was also very nice, the fan worked so good the mirror did not even fog up after a long shower. The towels were nice and thick. It was good to have a microwave and refrigerator in the room too, it was almost like a kitchen. I would gladly stay there again.” May 5, 2007 by
Jay
“We found this hotel kind of difficult to get to; by the time we arrived at the hotel I had to use the restroom but there wasn't one in the lobby area. They are only located in the rooms. Not a great idea but maybe cost effecient? It was really hot in our room;we turned the air on and ran it all night but it was not a comfortable temperature although we had it set on high. The bed was a nightmare; we both tossed and turned all night! It was too hard and the pillows were too soft. We normally don't complain unless the situation warrants it, and believe me, this is one of those times. We recommend selecting another hotel when staying in Rochester!” Apr 22, 2007 by
laura
“This hotel is difficult to get to, although it sits next to the main roads the frontage road to get to it is out of the way and difficult to find. Housekeeping was very poor quality, the first room I was given was not cleaned. I had to call the front desk for coffee and there was no shampoo in my room.” Nov 14, 2006 by
angela
“checking into hotel with a police raid going on and them wanting to go with me and check out the room i was just getting to 24 hrs late no less, and having my boyfriend be asleep in a bed as his flights were all on time and not delayed,he was there a day earlierthen i was .and waking up to 6 cops staring at him,was bullshit.thats ridiculouse having 6 cops walking in,it was terrible.not a very nice way to start a hotel stay” Nov 11, 2006 by
Mike
“New service drive is a bit trickey to locate. Also, NS room smelled like smoke. Hotel staff offered to change us immediately. Nothing fancy but a nice quiet area about 4 miles from Mayo and priced to please.” Nov 3, 2006 by
kim
“This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this motel and both times the accomadations were great. If all beds were King size it would be great.” Aug 13, 2006 by
Jeff from Kansas City, MO
“This is a pleasant and comfortable refuge for the night or the week. Appliances typical for the chain allow the traveler to adjust to a flexible stay with minimum difficulty. Evening staffing leaves much to be desired, since no one is visible during late-night arrival. Hard for me to believe that this staffing sufficiently affects the bottom line to be financially justifiable. ESA needs to alert travelers more effectively to the consequences of late-arrival and the options to follow in case of late night needs arising when help is far away.” Aug 2, 2006 by
Chris
“A clean bed and bath for a night; all I needed.” Jun 22, 2006 by
Anne from Duluth, MN
“NA” Jun 21, 2006 by
Barbara from Lewisville, TX
“The room was very clean. The staff was helpful. The location was convenient to downtown.” Jun 14, 2006 by
Carrie
“This is a no frills hotel. Remember to bring your soaps, dish soap, shampoos, and coffee/filters if you want to use the coffee maker. Also bring a foam mattress pad or better yet an air bed and just sleep on the floor. These beds are back breakers. Management said, we get that a lot.” May 30, 2006 by
James from Plano, IL
“It was ok. Nothing fancy. No Frills. A little out of the way for where we needed to be but served it's purpose. It was nice to be able to cook our own food there.” May 23, 2006 by
Patricia from Effingham, IL
“Good hotel, good location, friendly & helpful front end staff (Kim). The check in was difficult as it uses the first 4 letters of your last name, mine is only 3 letters long. I had a 30 minute delay in checking in due to this. I asked about a pet and was told they were accepted but never was told of the $25 dollar charge until after they had it on my bill. I felt that was wrong. This was a turn off to me and makes me uncertain of a return visit.” May 16, 2006 by
Jen from Slater, IA
“We made a mistake and ordered a smoking room. After checking onto the hotel and entering our smoking room, we called down to the front desk and they immediately gave us keys to a clean non-smoking room. The kitchen area was neat, although we didn't use it because of our short stay. We can see the kitchen area being a money saver for longer trips. The bathroom was large with lots of counter space and there was a closet area to hang our clothes.” Jan 13, 2006 by
Abhishek
“It is a very nice hotel if you are planning to stay longer. They have a small kitchen with all necessary utensils.” Jun 14, 2005 by
Sharon
“It was designed for extended stay clients, it had a kitchenette & ironing board etc. It was reasonably clean, but unless I was going to stay several days, I probably wouldn't go there again.”
