• The free breakfasts they serve are the best we've seen!
• The hotel doesn't seem to be very secure regarding the easy access by anyone.

“We have used this hotel on two separate occasions in the past month and are very impressed by the nicely decorated and very clean rooms. Plus, the rooms have a good-sized refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The free breakfasts are the best and offer quite a variety! It's a very comfortable place to stay.”

• The room was better than I expected. It was very clean and the bed was great.
• The lobby smelled musty, it made me think we made a bad choice.

“The outside of the hotel does not look like much and the lobby smelled musty, which turned me off right away. However, the service was great and the rooms exceeded my expectations. The rooms are very nicely decorated with a comfortable bed, a refrigerator and microwave were also in the room. We were in Rochester to go to the Mayo and when my appointment ran late, we called for a late checkout of 1:00 pm. We were told to take as much time as we needed. The service also exceed my expectations. We were not charged for the late check out either. The hotel is located about four blocks from the Mayo and I would stay at this hotel again.”

“Friendly staff, but so dated it did not feel clean or comfortable. Free breakfast had really watered down coffee. Close walk to mayo clinic and Methodist hospital.”

• Great location, very nice rooms, comfortable and clean.
• Remodeling was taking place.

“We were really impressed with this Holiday Inn and the newly remodeled room. We had - similar to the Marriott in design. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and a free copy of USA Today at our door! They really qualify as a 3 star hotel except for a lack of a restaurant. They offer a free breakfast, which was the best we have seen.”

• The location was excellent for the Mayo Clinic.
• There was parking only in public ramps at the cost of 15.00 daily.

“Basically it was nice except there were no restaurants in the hotel. Parking was difficult and expensive. Fortunately there are several good restaurants in the area.”

• Breakfast was very short of food both days, had to wait.

“The hotel had wonderful beds, able to walk through Skyways to restaurants, it was very cold outside. The attendants in the breakfast room were very slow, food very scarce, what was there was good, but had to wait. Hotel was full and dozens of people were waiting for food both days that we were there. I don't think that the hotel was prepared for that many people. Other than that our stay was very nice and comfortable, beds were wonderful. Very reasonable rates for a hotel of this caliber.”

• It is connected to the skyway and there are many choices of things to do and places to visit with smaller children.
• The only thing is that we could not regulate the heat to a medium temperature.

“I am recommending this hotel to people, especially after finding out that they have a deal with the YMCA for free swimming! The complementary breakfast was great and we especially enjoyed that we could walk our of our door and walk onto the skyway system (Nice for this cold winter!).”

• Convenient to mayo clinic via skyway.
• Bathroom was very small.

“Hotel was no more or less than we required since we were there for doctor appts. And surgery at mayo clinic. Great location - lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Room was not cleaned on 2nd day. One of front desk people - though friendly and helpful - had very bad boy.”

• One staff wanted us to leave our room after several hours of checking in.

“All were good but one staff member gave keys to our room to other guests several hours after we checked in. She argued that we should not be in this room.”

• Clean room. Continental breakfast was nice.
• Rooms were very economy. Did not like the way the room was set up, with vanity separate from bathroom. Not as comfortable as I would have expected.

• Atrium was beautiful and very relaxing.
• Sliding closet doors didn't work well and I stepped on a sharp carpet tack right in front of the bathroom.

“Very nice hotel. Employees were very friendly. A few blocks away to the mayo clinic buildings, but skywalk and subway systems will get you there without having to go outside.”

“Desk clerk was a bit disdainful of us at check in. Another clerk didn't know where the funeral parlor we were looking for was and told us perhaps we could find the address if we looked in the phone book. Swimming pool facilities across the street and hey people this is MINNESOTA! Brrrr it is cold coming back wet headed.”

“Overall this was a nice motel with the exception of not having a pool. When I booked this motel I thought it had a pool and my kids were disappointed. They had an excellent continental breakfast. One of the best ones I have seen.”

• The rooms were nice, and the breakfast was fantastic.
• The front desk girl was rude. Instead of giving us parking "options", she quite rudely said something to the effect of "either buy the pass or get tow

“Strange setup, and no free parking. And, as I said previously, the desk person was abrupt. Other than that, it looked and seemed like any other Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express.”

• The people at the front desk were friendly and seemed happy to see me. They remembered my name and gave excellent restaurant advise.

“This hotel is located close to Mayo Clinic. The staff are welcoming and kind. The rooms were spotless and beautiful. There are wonderful restaurants and shops close by. They offer a shuttle to Mayo Clinic, the mall and the movie theater. They also offer discounted movie tickets. The breakfast is incredible!”

• The bed with the comforter sandwiched between two sheets. Very clean place.
• I could not adjust the heat in my room. I would have liked 65 degrees at night.

“It is convenient, very clean, with a good breakfast selection. I loved having internet connection the whole time. The handicap accessible room right by the water fountains was very pleasant aesthetically. I would choose it again.”

• I loved the sheet covered comforter which felt so much more sanitary. The room and bathroom were very clean.
• No good signage directing you to the hotel after you got off the elevator from the parking lot. Also, I could not regulate the temperature in the room

“I was extremely surprised at the quality of the hotel and service. I expected bare bone service and things such as thin towels. I was very wrong. The internet service was a great help. It would have been more comfortable if I had been able to turn the heat down at night.”

• This hotel was very close to the Mayo Clinic, which was where we needed to be.
• You have to pay $10 a day for parking.

• The toilet had running water that needed to be fixed.

“For Mayo Clinic visitors, this hotel is ideal. We could get to the clinic through the sky walk and subway system. There was a nice free breakfast in the am The room had lots of space and even had a down comforter on the bed.”

“It was very top notched, clean,and received exactly what we requested for room specifications. They had a wonderful Continental Breakfast and had a lady on staff who kept busy keeping breakfast items and drinks filled and never had spillage on the counter because she kept it cleaned up along with the tables clean. Best I've ever seen.”

• Accomodations were all that we expected and hoped for.
• When our stay in Rochester needed to be extended because of our son's physical condition, we could stay but had to pay almost double.

“It was clean, staff were couteous, but they closed down the grill to make it Holiday Express so we had to go elsewhere to eat.”

• Our room was very clean (Roxanne did an excellent job) and the access to Mayo Clinic is easy when using the skywalks
• The only parking is in a ramp and it's a little confusing getting in and out

“Our stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown-Rochester was pleasant. Our room was clean and the Skywalk connected the hotel to Mayo Clinic.”

“Holiday Inn was very clean and convenient to the Mayo Clinic. The hotel does charge you $8.00 to park for 24 hours in addition to your room charge. Beds are a little hard but the room was very spacious and nice.”
