“Room was extremely small. Chair in room was very uncomfortable. Hot water did not always work. Heard all the street noise at night.” Aug 24, 2009 by
Chris from Panama City Beach,FL
“The location to Mayo Clinic is great, the staff was very friendly and helpful. You can travel with pets and they dont charge a pet fee. Our room was very small and had twin beds and was told we had this room because we booked online.” May 18, 2009 by
Sharon from Newcastle,WY
“The building is extremely old and uncomfortable. We had to upgrade and then it wasn't comfortable as there wasn't even air conditioning.” May 3, 2009 by
Lee from Detroit Lakes,MN
“If your going to Mayo Clinic. You won't get closer. If your staying a long time stay elsewhere. There are nice rooms a short distance away at similar or lower prices.” Nov 1, 2008 by
Joe
“I would not recommend this hotel. The hotel is very old, the rooms are very small, the staff was not accommodating at all and did not appear to want to assist in making happy customers. One of the worst experiences at a hotel I have ever had.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Glenn from New Auburn, WY
“Built 100 years ago and not likely to be rebuilt as its on the next block to Mayo. Has been improved in the past few years with kitchenettes and improved baths. Some lighting improvements.” May 8, 2008 by
Mary from Sioux Falls, SD
“Do to circumstances beyond our control we had to leave a day early.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Gary from Muscatine, IA
“The hotel was located in a convenient area, but as for being renovated. I do not think so. It was like walking into 1930's. Although I love the old architecture of the building the rooms really need to be updated, especially the heat and bathrooms.” Feb 2, 2008 by
Jmi from Fort Dodge, IA
“The hotel is a very short distance from the Mayo clinic. It was built back in the early 1900's and still has the flavor of that era.” Nov 21, 2007 by
Barbara from Great Falls, MT
“There was no place to set even the shaver down in the bathroom, the coffee pot was on an extension, and the only place to place the portable heater they gave us to plug it in the 2'space I had to get out of the bed between the wall .” Sep 17, 2007 by
Jeff from Minnesota
“I booked my 5 night stay at this hotel because I had to take my 2 year old daughter to the Mayo Clinic. Upon arrival, I was shocked to discover that the rooms did not have a micro/fridge as posted on their website. I immediately went to the front desk and was told that not only did they not have any micros/fridges in their rooms, but none to share in the lobby area etc. This posed a huge problem for me as my daughter has meds that need to be refrigerated etc. I said that I needed to cancel my reservation and was told that it was non refundable. To add insult to injury, this honestly was the poorest hotel I've ever stayed at. I can't believe Days Inn would out their sign on something so disgraceful. Their website says "newly renovated in 2007" our rooms renovation included a new sink in the bathroom - that was it. Also, the heat was stuck in the "on" position, so we had the run the 20 year old window air conditioner to keep it comfortable. The beds had a huge sag in the middle, only one ice machine for the entire hotel, no vent in the bathroom to get rid of the steam, the toilet was pushed so tightly against the wall that you literally had to turn almost sideways to use it, and the rooms themselves were smaller than anything I've ever seen before. I talked to several people at the mayo clinic about my experience and was told that they don't ever recommend going there because of the problems people have. At the end of the day, I paid $385 to be irritated and upset, and ultimately ended up moving to the Ramada, which, I would highly recommend to anyone.” Sep 4, 2007 by
Leatha from Bolivar, MO
“It has a really convenient location if going to Mayo Clinic. The bed was so-so, but the pillows where new and numerous. There was a strange smell in the hallway and a different one in the room. We had the sound of running water all night because of a pipe that ran through our room. Frankly, it was over priced for the quality of room it was. It wasn't any bigger than a postage stamp! There was barely enough room for us and our luggage.” Apr 29, 2007 by
Mike from Fremont, MI
“The hotel was okay and fit our needs. Besides the smell of a smoking room, which I know could be eliminated, it was okay. The service was adequate and the location couldn't be better. The price was right. We have to stay longer because my wife is here for cancer surgery. I hope they don't raise the rate and take advantage of the fact that she needs to stay longer at the hospital for recovery.” Feb 23, 2007 by
Don from Peru, IL
“The room was not clean when we checked in on Tuesday. We received no room service at all on Thursday. Had to go down to get our own towels. The desk was not even aware that our room wasn't clean and they didn't even apologize for this. Unbelievable.” Dec 5, 2006 by
Micahael from Lewisville, MN
“Cramped room and bathroom was terrible.” May 24, 2006 by
Kelcey W. from Houston, TX
“The staff was excellent. I interacted with multiple staffers who were all helpful and friendly. However, the facility doesn't have central AC. This resulted in me waking up at 3:00 am and not being able to go back to sleep. I am a physician who flew from Texas to Rochester, MN for an overnight stay for a national exam that determines by board certification. I had to be up at 5:00 am for my exam and needless to say, I was a bit tired going into my test.” May 11, 2006 by
Doris from Washburn, WI
“Nothing fancy, but very satisfactory. Room was clean and quiet. Close proximity to Mayo was a real plus with parking right next to the hotel.” Apr 21, 2006 by
Chad from Willmar, MN
“The hotel was older then dirt and smelled so bad had to sleep with the window open.” Hotel Representatives:
