Cindy from Detroit Lakes, MN
“Very clean and safe. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area could use some updating, nice courtyard and good restaurant.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Gale from Windermere, FL
“Would stay there again. Their room rate per night is too much for a place with a small lobby and apparently antiquated plumbing.” May 23, 2008 by
Kenneth from St. Peters, MO
“Hotel staff was extremely helpful. However they assured us they would get us a cab to the airport on time but used the yellow cab company that didn't come. Then the bellman found a new cab company and came in five minutes. Went for a drink and bartender acted most unfriendly.” May 14, 2008 by
Mary from Mansfield, MA
“Others have commented on poor lighting in rooms. Believe it. It's the pits. In fact if you tried to apply makeup while standing at the bottom of a dark pit with only down-lighting, you'll get the idea of what the vanity areas are like. I would have liked to find self-serve coffee in the lobby, but no such luck. There is a coffee maker & stuff in the room, but I went looking for palatable coffee in the lobby. The restaurant manager kindly fetched me a complimentary cup of joe from the kitchen when I asked where I might find some coffee. (There is a Starbucks across the street at the Kahler, as I later discovered.) My husband and I stayed two nights. We were a few minutes late checking out and got a call from the front desk asking if we were leaving that day. My husband said yes, and the lady asked, and when is that going to happen? Kind of a brusque approach for a supposedly 4 star hotel, IMO. Also, we respected their non-smoking policy but would it be too much to ask that a seating area somewhat sheltered from the elements be provided outside instead of making their guests loiter around like vagrants in the wind and rain? We'll stay at the Kahler next time - that's where you have to park for the Marriott anyway, it has Starbucks on the premises, they have smoking rooms, and as far as I can remember from a past visit there, they have decent lighting in the rooms and very polite guest relations staff.” May 1, 2008 by
Daniel from Shoreham, NY
“The hotel is part of the Mayo Clinic complex, very convenient, connected to Rochester by Skyways and Subways.” Mar 4, 2008 by
Darren from Sioux Falls, SD
“Great hotel for anyone visiting staying in Rochester. We stayed during a youth sports tournament so the hotel was busy but rooms were quiet and very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly but could have used a few more in light of heavy traffic. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Carrie from Woodbury, MN
“It was a great.” Feb 26, 2008 by
Josh from Roseville, MN
“Hotel was very nice. The only problem I found was the access to parking. The parking ramp is located a block away. Parking was not included in hotel rate and, although underground, you had to walk though a somewhat unmarked tunnel system to get to the hotel.” Feb 22, 2008 by
Angie from Lacrosse, WI
“The hotel is very centrally located in the Downtown with skyway access to a number of shops as well as restaurants. The room was well appointed and comfortable, the bed especially so. There was an additional sink and vanity in this room outside the bathroom which was very nice for us as we got ready in the morning.” Feb 11, 2008 by
Judith from Marshfield, WI
“Enjoyed my stay - staff very friendly and responded to any requests quickly and efficiently. The door opening into the bathroom interferes with getting in and out of tub; also there should be a light installed above tub - way to dark to see when taking shower - and there should be a heater blowing either above tub or connected to the timer - room cold when taking bath/shower!” Feb 9, 2008 by
Jill from Cedar Rapids, IA
“Great accommodations, but needs to be a bit less expensive, not charge for internet, have wireless internet, otherwise beds, bedding, staff were great, also, more TV channels would be good like bravo and HGTV.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Jackie from East Moline, IL
“Not pleased w/front desk. Bellhop pleasurable. When we called down, surprised, we did not have internet, we were told in a very monotone, snotty, voice: "Mr. Marriott has said no 4 star hotel will offer free internet, this is per Mr. Marriott! I am a Marriott rewards holder, gave my card at check in. We have Marriott vacations timeshare and I have never had anyone at front desk be so blaze and not smile. Prefer to stay away from this hotel and stick with the 3star hotels which are far friendlier! In Rochester MN anyway!” Jan 21, 2008 by
Kathleen from Orange Park, FL
“The hotel was very accomodating of our needs as a patient at Mayo clinic.” Nov 26, 2007 by
Subbiah from Roseville, MN
“Need to post a sign in the parking ramp elevator asking guests to go to S level and additional instructions to go and take the (unmarked) elevator to Marriott Hotel Lobby. Current printed paper handout is very poorly worded. Instructions to find the ramp are poor - it does not even bother to name the ramp correctly.” Oct 21, 2007 by
Kyle from New London, MN
“Great location and staff was excellent with the exception of the maids. For a four star hotel I would expect the room to be much cleaner.” Aug 28, 2007 by
Scott from Rochester, MN
“Overall it was a pleasant experience. The room service is fantastic. The beds were more comfortable than my own!” Aug 23, 2007 by
Bill from The Woodlands, TX
“Polite and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable room. Great central location.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 19, 2007 by
Bonnie from Clarksville, IN
“As, I said, a little over priced. Everything was very good (some staff don't speak English caused some difficulty) however, I've just spent 14 days on they road and in Yellowstone, Badlands, etc. and stayed almost exclusively in Holiday Inn Express and was amazed at the service, cleanliness, helpfulness, the very well stocked warm free breakfast, etc. for must less money. I have truly made a new discovery - Bonnie Denny.” Jul 30, 2007 by
Nick from Stamford, CT
“We were touched by the compassion and care shown by the staff towards the Mayo Clinic patients. When my wife did not feel good after the flight to Minneapolis, we telephoned from the air-port and when the shuttle dropped us off at 10:30 a.m., there was a room ready for us in spite of being fully booked! We had a final appointment at the Mayo clinic that delayed our stay to 1:00 p.m. and the hotel staff gave us permission to extend our check out time to 2:00 p.m. We were so impressed with the proximity to the Mayo Clinic via the subway system! We were as close if not closer geographically as Kahler Grand with better amenities, newer and cleaner hotel with more luxurious room and beds with feather pillows and quilts.” Jul 28, 2007 by
Rav from Glen Ellyn, IL
“The hotel seemed to me like a 2.5 of 3 start hotel but was better then the Kahler next door which was just old and poorly maintained. This hotel needs a renovation and I found the staff to be arrogant.” Jun 10, 2007 by
Cheryl from Marion, IA
“This hotel is in a great location for Mayo Clinic patients. We did not have to go outside in the cold January weather to get from our hotel to the Clinic appointments!! Our room was very clean, and the hotel staff was courteous and friendly.” May 27, 2007 by
R.S. from San Diego, CA
“Parking in this hotel is a block away. I'd advise parking in the ramp off Broadway and 2nd. This hotel is connected underground with mayo which is very helpful. I was there in summer, but if you are there in the winter/fall this is a big plus.” May 4, 2007 by
Brenda from Decorah, IA
“Great location for a Mayo Clinic visit. I was a 7 minute walk from my hotel room to the doctor¿s office, all underground without traffic or weather issues. Staff and room were great. Unfortunately, the food at the restaurant was not very good.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 18, 2007 by
Connie from Utica, MN
“I loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone staying in Rochester.” Apr 10, 2007 by
Lynna from Brooklyn Park, MN
“The hotel had all of the requirements I look for when traveling. Room service, excellent beds and bedding, and a good looking decor. Valet was helpful as well since the ramp was 2 blocks away.” Mar 25, 2007 by
Sam from Wenatchee, WA
“Great value for the price.” Mar 24, 2007 by
Chris from Batavia, IL
“Nice hotel in very good location. I hope to stay here for all of my local business trips.” Mar 14, 2007 by
Katrina from Plymouth, MN
“I had an absolutely wonderful stay! The service and staff were terrific. I'd definitely stay there again!” Feb 27, 2007 by
James from Durango, CO
“Maid service excellent. Clean friendly staff. No free internet when surrounding hotels supplied it free. Transportation was good. Connected to mayo clinic. Restaurant was over priced for quality of food. Our stay overall was satisfactory and the comfort of the room was great.” Feb 17, 2007 by
John from Normal, IL
“Was a very nice hotel, and made access to the mayo clinic quite convenient. One thing that I found conspicuously absent was free wifi in rooms. Although this hotel represents itself as upscale, it charges $10/day for internet service. ” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 4, 2007 by
Andrea from Minneapolis, MN
“The hotel overall was wonderful, clean, spacious, and conveniently located within walking distance of the mayo clinic and great restaurants.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 4, 2007 by
Barrett from La Crosse, WI
“Very nice, spacious room and everything was clean and well taken care of.” Jan 22, 2007 by
Debbie from Blue Springs, MO
“The Marriott is very convenient for those who are visiting the mayo clinic. There is a refrigerator in the room, and when we asked about access to a microwave, they offered to bring one to our room. The decor of the room is more contemporary than my taste, but it was a big room and very clean and comfortable. I loved the comfy bedding! The biggest negative to this hotel is the $10-14 a day parking fee. Also, there is no breakfast included in the room price. All in all our stay was very nice, though pricey.” Jun 14, 2006 by
Bob from Hermantown, MN
“Overall a nice place with many extras, however the parking, while free was two blocks away in a public parking ramp.” Jun 11, 2006 by
Sheryl from High Point, NC
“We plan on staying there when my next nephew graduates in 2 years. I would highly recommend it to anyone. There are lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 5, 2006 by
Elaine from Urbandale, IA
“I went to Mayo clinic for testing. I was told not to do anything strenuous for 24 hours before the test. Unfortunately when I parked in the parking garage the elevator was out of service (all 3 days). I had to carry my suitcase down from the 5th floor. When I checked in it would have been nice of them to tell me that fact so I could have left my luggage and returned to the front desk for it. The sign in the lobby said excuse our dust we are remodeling. Other than that sign I wouldn't have guessed it. The hotel was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised at the Marriott. At one point I lost my driver's license. On check out I mentioned this to the desk clerk and gave him my phone number in case it was turned in. Shortly I received a call saying they had just searched my room but didn't locate my driver's license. WOW I wasn't expecting that. How nice of them to make the special effort to look for it and to make the special effort to call and inform me. This hotel is first class all the way.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 24, 2006 by
Rick from Elk Grove, IL
“The bathroom tub was slow draining such that when you took a shower, you also got a bath. Went up to Rochester for a medical visit. When we were informed that we would not need to stay another day by our doctor at 4 pm, the hotel still charged us half price for the room, even though it was just cleaned and we didn't use the room after it was cleaned.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 30, 2005 by
Shelly from Lake Bluff, IL
“Rooms were lovely, hotel staff very accommodating. Location is great connected to shops, other hotels, parking via underground tunnel. Good food prices.” Dec 27, 2005 by
Paul from Crookston, MN
“It seemed a little dated. It needs some refurbishing. Otherwise it was a good location and very convenient for my travel purpose, which was an appointment at the Mayo clinic.” Dec 26, 2005 by
Leslie R. from Appleton, WI
“Well sized rooms, nicely decorated, friendly service.” Apr 8, 2005 by
Harold from Minneapolis, MN
“Good hotel for Rochester. Not sure it should be a four star hotel. Probably more like a 3 star. Overall the best thing about the hotel is its location. If you have to go to the Mayo Clinic it is the best place to stay if you can get a good price. ” Mar 23, 2005 by
Melvin from Rapid City, SD
“Nice facility and friendly staff. The parking situation is marginal and the cleanliness of the rooms should be improved. The location is good as it relates to medical care and proximity to non-hotel restaraunts. ” Mar 14, 2005 by
Jane from Bellevue, IA
