• Free parking, extra nice continental breakfast, close to Mayo Clinic.
• Elevators are too slow, couldn't continue our medical trip stay.

“Very good for Medical Trips like our, we can use the subway (below ground to medical appointments, without wearing a coat. We wore our coats twice in three weeks, and that was to Church and Eat Out once. Can go by tunnel to Hospital Cafeteria.”

“A nice downtown location near Mayo clinic. Parking is in a garage and a little cramped. If I would have brought my minivan and snowmobile trailer, I don't know where I would have parked. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. I would recommend this hotel!”

“What a great choice for our stay in Rochester! It was so convenient to the Clinic and downtown. Friendly, helpful staff made our stay very enjoyable. The breakfast was good and very helpful for beginning our day. It would be highly recommended for those staying in Rochester.”

• I do not like the bottled water left in the room, then charged $2.50 if I open it.

• Take the hotel elevator to the subway and you are 30 steps from being in the lower floor of the Mayo Clinic

“The staff was courteous and friendly, the rooms spacious and clean and the free parking and contential breakfast are all things that we appreciate in a hotel stay. Add to that the close proximity to the Mayo Clinic and the Kahler Economy Inn was a perfect fit for us.”

• The staff assigned us a larger room than most in this Hotel.
• usually stay in new hotels because they are not worn.

• Icky carpet. Noisy. Slow elevators. Housekeeping starts knocking at 8 a.m.!!!

“This is a good value if you are looking for a clean, decent, no-frills place to stay in downtown Rochester--especially if you get it for as cheap as I did! If you are looking for nice carpets, those little extras, a comfortable place for a long-term stay, it may not be your first choice. The staff are all very helpful. The biggest detractor for me was the 8 a.m. knocking by the housekeeping staff. If you want quiet, be sure your room does not look out on the 2nd floor pool/exercise area, which gets VERY noisy! Overall, I enjoyed my stay, even if it wasn't super cushy.”

• The location was perfect for us. We had family in the Rochester Hospital and could get there without going outside.
• The bathroom could have been cleaner. Fixtures were not in very good condition and shower curtain was way too long for tub

• The parking for the hotel was horrible and the person working late night was not helpful about it.

• Dirtiest room I've seen in a long time.

“This has been my 4rth stay with the Kahler Economy. This was the dirtiest room ever! Hair on floor in bathroom, long hair hanging from shoer curtain. Crumbs on floor between beds. Continental breakfast was the worst I've seen in a 2-star hotel. Very disappointed in my stay.”

• The rooms were clean and a good size.
• There is extremely limited parking. They offer free parking, but their lot was full. Be prepared to pay for parking.

“It's proximity to Mayo is exceptional. The rooms were clean and the pool area was nice. Parking is a problem. We had to park in the Mayo ramp overnight and it cost $12.00.”

“My hotel was excellent! The personnel were very friendly and professional. The room was very clean. The best part was that it was all connected to the subway that connects to the clinic where I had to go. The temperature was very cold out and I didn't have to go outside the whole time I was there. I was extremely pleased with everything about the hotel.”

“We were very pleased to have a nice room in the Kahler, which is attached to the Mayo Clinic by a subway-type walkway. This allowed us to leave our room and go directly to our appointments without bothering with coats since we never went outdoors. The room was quiet with comfortable beds, a coffee pot, hair-dryer, iron & board, hot shower, and a great free breakfast! The work-out center is an added benefit. ”

“At 1st I felt the hotel layout was very confusing. A lot of elevators, and doors, hallways. The parking lot was very congested. Once I was in for the night, I didn't want to leave. All in all, it was a great price, and I enjoyed it, once I got used to the layout!”

“At check in, the bathroom commode was very soiled. I believe that the room had been made up before the previous guest had checked out and then had not been checked. Someone was sent to clean it, but I had to re-cleaned before I was satisfied. My wife was checked out of the hospital a day earlier than expected, so we did not use the room on the second night.”

“I had to pay $10 for parking even though the clerk led me to believe I would be able to park for free at the Mayo clinic since all of the hotel parking was full. The room price was $35 when you add the $10 for parking I could have found a better quality hotel than the Kahler Economy Inn & Suites in Rochester. Also the shower head is at about 5' 6''.”
