• Decor was nice but impractical.
• Total cluster problem in the lobby area - front desk help was not friendly - disorganized.

“Front desk help was not friendly - unhelpful. Breakfast was state of chaos - food had run out taking forever for them to replace, had 6 different bread boxes that you could not see in to what they contained so each person had to open them to find out they contained the same 3 things and the 2 toasters were set right by them so 10-15 people are crammed in one area waiting to toast or look in the breadboxes - stupid! Help just seemed to run around - didn't seem to be 1-2 dedicated people running just replenishment.”

• Very nice room, super clean!
• The free breakfast wasn't very good. Toast, some fruit, and cereal with warm milk.

“Overall it was a great experience. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful in suggesting places to eat in town. Room was spotless and seemed huge. The only negative was the breakfast. For how nice the hotel was, one would assume that breakfast would be pretty nice or at least a lot of options. There was cantaloupe, yogurt, bread, and cereal (the milk and yogurt were both warm). Breakfast was served in a small area, so if you went to eat during peak times you may have to wait awhile to get one of the few tables. The positives definitely outweigh the one negative!”

• The staff went above and beyond and was very helpful to me and my children.

“My kids and I were greeted by a friendly helpful staff that continued to be helpful throughout the trip. It is a very nice and clean hotel and you can be provided with pretty much anything you need. The beds were comfortable and the food was wonderful. I wish all hotels took as much time to provide this quality of hospitality.”

• Large room with seating area and bed area with swivel TV! Plus personal hotel tour from staff - GREAT!
• It was beyond our expectations.

“We would recommend this hotel for anyone. They greeted us with coupons for the mall, schedules, and a personal tour of the hotel. Everyone was friendly. Room was clean and had everything we'd want. Very nice and healthy continental breakfast - no donuts and cheap stuff - fresh fruit, lots of options. Great place to stay!”

• The room was spacious and very nice. We enjoyed the wine bar and the continental breakfast too.
• We were expecting a nicer workout room, perhaps with some free weights or weight machines.

• Location to mall of america.
• Pool closed.

“We called before leaving and was told location had a pool, however, when we arrived we were informed the pool was closed and had been. They could shuttle us to a different hotel to use pool. Sorry but with 6 degrees and a 3 year old, we are not shuttling out! Staff was unconcerned.”

• The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
• The continental breakfast was slim pick en's, we've stayed cheaper with better food.

“I liked the location, the shuttle to MOA, the spacious room, and the friendly service. I was not at all impressed with the continental breakfast. Toast, cold cereal, and fruit. It was a disappointment.”

• Not enough help at front desk initially, less personal.

“Parking was free, which was lovely. It took awhile to get checked in because there was insufficient staff, but the person who did check us in was lovely. There was hanging space in closet. I wish the bathroom had a mirror. There was a large mirror and long counter outside the bathroom. It felt like two rooms because there is a partial division between beds and sofa. We didn't watch TV, but there was a huge one with the ability to be turned towards either room. It sat upon an entertainment center that was essentially a bunch of cubbies, so there was storage if one needed it. In terms of the room, I could live there quite well. In terms of the hotel, it was made for the business traveler, so I think it was less personal than I would prefer. Overall good experience.”

• The room had character.
• The bathroom was poorly designed.

“Very convenient location to the Mall of America and the airport. Karen at the front desk was great help for some problems I incurred on the way. The room was very contemporary and well designed with the exception of the bathroom. The inside swing on the door left limited space to step aside and close it. Otherwise, absolutely wonderful.”

• Free wireless internet; 42" plasma HD TV, Nice breakfast.

“Thei property has been completely refurbished with the latest in technology in the room. Very comfortable beds with plush comforters. The desk is set up for wireless internet and one can connect a computer to the plasma HD TV. Excellent in every respect!”

• Good value for the price.
• Each day they imposed a service charge of $5 for items like the coffee pot in the room whether you used them or not.

“Very clean spacious rooms, good staff. Did not like the service charge of $5 a day that the staff informed you about when you checked in. The service charge was for the coffee pot in your room plus 10 minutes of free internet a day and other meaningless items.”

“Great hotel! We have stayed at other Hyatt Place Hotels and have found them to be very nice! We were in town for the RNC, found the hotel employees to be very friendly and helpful to the many visitors that had invaded their city!”

• Check in was extremely fast, and the room was as excellent as we had hoped it would be.
• It would have been nice if breakfast was served a little later, we slept too late and missed it on the second day of our stay.

“We were nervous that we would be able to hear a lot of noise from the airport just across the street, but we didn't hear a thing. Everything was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.”

• It was way beyond my expectations. I had a great stay which was very relaxing since I had 3 days of school.
• The lobby and the dining area is all together, the concept is ok but gets congested in the mornings.

“I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The big screen TV is fantastic and it is only 1 block from the Light Rail which is real nice.”

• I liked the contemporary style and decor of the hotel; good location in relation to Mall of America.
• Staff was not the most helpful, a few exceptions; daily cleaning in our room was bad, cleaning staff left dirty towels in room!

“Hyatt Place has such potential to be a great hotel. I was impressed when I arrived but the staff seemed unfriendly and seemed to be just doing their job, not going above and beyond to make hotel guests seem welcome. The biggest disappointment was that in our three days there, our cleaning lady got worse. Soap and shampoo was not replenished during our entire stay. One day, wet wash cloths and towels remained in the tub when we arrived back at our room. Trash wasn't dumped for the first two days either. Disappointing!”

• How about- the sink was separate from the toilet.

“The staff was fantastic, the room was perfect. Plasma TV, hook-ups for electronics, Wi-Fi, everything we wanted. Beds were soft and comfortable. Air conditioning kept the room very relaxing. Highly recommend!”

• Clean, comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Close to airport and MOA.
• Pool area not the cleanest. Same used band-aid was on the floor all three days.

“Overall the hotel was very nice. Like the decor! Continental breakfast very nice and seating space was great too! View of the airplanes coming and going was great for the young kids.”

• Coffee tasted terrible-way too strong. Probably better with real half & half.

“This was my second stay at the hotel. The service was just as good the second time as the first. We were able to get a room with two beds. Also had a nice sectional couch. All staff was very nice. Hotel very convenient to the mall and airport. We were even offered a shuttle to the airport to pick up my son. My husband was very impressed with the hotel and the service also.”

“This is a great hotel for staying with kids and going to the MOA. They have shuttle service to the mall and airport. The pool was not on par with the rest of the hotel. It was very small and moderately maintained. Overall a great place to stay when going to MOA.”

• The staff and the plasma TV's.
• The upper floors smell bad due to poor air circulation.

“Overall this hotel is acceptable for a few days if you are traveling with a family which has very young children. They did not have microwaves in the rooms. The rooms were nice however the top floors had very poor air circulation. Definitely good for business travel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental BF was decent. No hot food but hot Starbucks coffee.”

• One elevator was broken, breakfast area way too crowded, bathroom impossibly tiny.

“Fantastic pillows and bed! I mean, awesome! I usually have to request extra pillows and this time it was not needed at all. Only drawback was the Lilliputian bathroom. Ridiculously small, can't even turn around in it. Pool was ok. Breakfast area way too tiny for more than 3 guests at a time.”

• The staff are exceptional at this hotel. If room service were added this would be a 4 star easily.
• No hot tub.

“Perfect hotel for business or pleasure. Plenty of room to stay a week and not feel cooped up. Plenty of room for a portable baby crib and a couch for the older kids. Friendly staff, close to 494 strip business, super close to Mall of America, still within reach of Valley Fair, easy access up Cedar to Minneapolis.”

• Room was well-designed, comfortable and modern.
• I didn't like that hot breakfasts cost $8.

“Hyatt Place has hit on something for the business traveler-smart rooms that make the very most of space and features for a very reasonable price. The bed is big and comfy. The huge swivel TV can be viewed from either the bed or the large pit-group sofa-the best feature of the room. Wi-Fi is easy to access. And the layout of the room makes it feel like better than the sum of its parts. It's the best hotel room I've stayed in for quite some time. The only drawback is the high prices (at least 8 bucks) for a hot breakfast, although the selections for the complimentary continental route weren't bad.”

“We loved the contemporary design. The designer-decor rooms are gorgeous and include large screen swivel TV's and a living room/bar area. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool was great and we really enjoyed the free continental breakfast. I would definitely stay at the Hyatt Place in the Minneapolis area again! We loved it!”
