• Very well appointed, great location, interesting history.
• Noisy air conditioning, TV poorly placed

“We very much enjoyed this hotel when we visited my hometown of Mpls. The location is fantastic, just accross the river from St. Anthony Falls and Riverplace, near downtown. Wear good walking shoes. Self parking (very close) is $15 per day with in and out privleges, valet parking is $28. The air conditioner was very loud, so we awoke when it would come on, and then again when it would go off (because of the quiet!)The television was not placed well in the room, to the side of the bed, rather than at the bottom. It was hard to see it without one person being in the way and without getting a kink in your neck. We didn't spend much time on TV, only while drinking our coffee in the AM. We would love to stay here again!”

• The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly!

“The hotel was great! I would love to go back in the winter when the skating rink is open! The young man working the valet parking when we arrived was so kind. He got a luggage cart for us and loaded it up and brought it all the way up to our room for us, which was almost the farthest room away! We didn't even use valet parking - we self parked. The rest of the staff was great too, very friendly and helpful. They had a sense of humor also!”

“This hotel had charm and character. The room was beautifully decorated with down comforters, huge pillows and tastefully displayed art based on railroad history. The public areas, including lobby and outside entrance, all featured life-sized white statues of people of various occupations from the 1940's that tied into the historical railroad theme.”

“It was a nice hotel. The only annoying thing is that I had to call 4 times in order for them to switch my king only room to a 2 queen room. He kept telling me they were full, but then all of a sudden they had
otns available and were short queens. Made no sense and was irritating. I understand that it is never guaranteed, but they have the rooms available they shouldn't lie about it.”

• Beautiful decorations and friendly helpful staff.
• Location is a 40 minute walk away from central downtown.

“Excellent place to stay. Great rooms. The location is a bit off the main track and requires a brisk walk to get downtown. In the summer this will be ideal. Now, it was a bit cold.”

• The room accommodations were well equipped for business travel like I was doing!
• Hotel staff was not as helpful for dining options for a single person at 8pm, did not feel safe walking, and nothing in hotel was offered.

“Again, the hotel was very beautiful. The history displays of the hotel were very interesting and fun. The rooms were very well set up for business travelers with a console to control all audio/visual needs for computer hook up to the large flat screen TV/monitor! Loved that for my business needs this trip. My brother has held two birthday parties for his children in the huge water park and loved it! So I was familiar with the name, and location. Cannot wait to visit when the ice rink is open too with my daughter in the near future.”

“My experience at the Depot was fantastic, except my significant other was sick, so I didn't get laid. But the location was great. Can't believe I had to pay 14 bucks for parking in there own ramp though.”

• The location was nice. It was quiet.
• The parking passes did not work. I had to go back three times to get one; they did not appear to listen to the information I relayed from the parking.

“This was a nice hotel with a nice premise. I stayed in a King suite, at first glance it appeared upscale, but in actuality the furnishings, wallpaper etc., were lower quality pretending to be expensive.”

• A one-king bed room was offered when I entered two persons were traveling. Poor assumption.

“The hotel overall was fine. It suited our purpose and wasn't the focus of our travel. We did not really use the hotel but for a place to stay the night and due to its location which was good.”

• Convenient indoor parking. IPOD ports. Great TV and sound system. Quiet. Great staff. Great bed. Nice desk.
• Extra charges for pool, internet, etc.

“In 40 years of travel, this was the best hotel I stayed at for the price. It was a short walk to the light rail system. It was convenient to Downtown, a river bridge, and expressways. The room had a couch, coffee table, flat TV, nice desk, IPOD hookup. The staff was helpful. It was a short walk to a nice convenience store. Excellent indoor parking.”

• The water park and beautiful skating rink made a delightful getaway for our family (7 & 10 year olds loved the hotel) Close to light rail, great food.
• No comment, it was everything we looked for.

“The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, the recent remodel made the entire hotel beautiful and comfortable. The historic location and preservation made us happy to be enjoying the spaces and the activities of ice skating (after Thanksgiving) and the wonderful water park engaged every member of our family. We had a marvelous time and plan to return.”

• This hotel has a water park and an ice skating rink attached!
• The parking was $14 per day and also a charge for internet access.

“This hotel is a well done conversion of an old historical landmark. The hotel was clean and the staff efficient and friendly. Although, we didn't have kids present, the water park themed as a train depot looked like tons of fun. Another bonus was a huge ice skating rink attached to the hotel. We were very happy with the quality of our room and this hotel. Downside, $14 per day for parking and internet cost 9.95 per day.”

• No bartender at the beautiful bar/lounge area for 20 min. We left.

• Great atmosphere, very comfortable and very nice. A little ritzy in a good way as well as a great location.
• The food was very expensive, but I just treated myself to a great meal.

“I really liked the room because it was just what I needed as far as the desk and internet. The bed was so amazingly comfortable! I was surrounded in down. A great sleep on a cloud. The restaurant was expensive but it had a nice bar area. If you want to walk outside you can find a number of great restaurants, but I didn't want to walk around too much since it was pretty cold. It has a great location and the staffs were very helpful and professional. I enjoyed my stay very much.”

• Very efficient at the front desk.
• The maid couldn't see the don't disturb sign and knocked loudly two separate times until we answered the door, ridiculous.

“The hotel was really great with the exception of the stupid maid who wanted to get her rooms done ASAP that day. Very rude! It was great until she knocked very early and then again. The sign was clearly hung out on the door. As a relaxing night out it was not great to be woken so many times and so early! That put a cloud over my entire experience!”

• I loved the hi-tech rooms.
• That the hot tub was in the same area as the water park.

“This hotel was great. Definitely exceeded my expectations. In a great location close to a lot of nearby attractions. The rooms have a great feel to them and also have electronics to hook in your ipod to play over the TV. I really enjoyed my stay.”

“This hotel is located in a former train depot in the Washington Avenue mill district of Minneapolis. It is very convenient to the Metrodome Stadium, and to other business and pleasure attractions in the city. It has an indoor water park and a classy restaurant.”

• The service at this hotel was amazing, and everyone was attentive, helpful, and when I realized that I needed another night, they gave me a huge discount.
• No free wireless internet.

• Older style of rooms and furniture. We felt as if we were in home.
• Parking prices are high for people staying there.

“We enjoyed our short stay, and would recommend it to friends. We hope to stay there again in the near future. Very comfortable rooms, not big, but big enough. Very relaxing.”

• The bedding was quite lovely; we found it difficult to come up with reasons to get up.
• The sink/vanity being apart from the rest of the bathroom seems pointless.

“This hotel really has something for everyone. Families were quite busy with the water park, there were plenty of places to sit and relax near a lovely fireplace, the bar area was very open and accessible, as was the restaurant. Everything is convenient and people were making use of the free internet access in the lobby. The historic Milwaukee road railroad station theme is great. An interesting history lesson for young and old.”
