• Very convinent, enjoyed the atmosphere before football game.
• Rather dated, for its location I would think an update would be in line.

“Nice room, but a flat screen does not mean the room is new. The bedroom remote didn't even work. The bathroom faucet dripped. The shower worked but throw some money into this place.”

• The complimentary happy hour was great, and the breakfast was very good.
• $20.00 for parking.

• Great location can walk to the dome for ballgames and it's an easy walk to Downtown for shopping and restaurants.
• $20 a night for weekend parking seemed like a lot.

“Great downtown location, very close to the stadium, and within walking distance to Convention Center and Nicollet Mall. Safe area. Convenience store in lobby. Great breakfast daily with made to order omelets. Weekday evenings there is complimentary appetizers and drinks for happy hour. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous.”

• The breakfast/manager's reception is a definite "bonus".
• The desk staff upon arrival was not friendly, nor was other staff we encountered on this visit.

“I do enjoy the layout of the Embassy Suites, though the location in Minneapolis is not convenient for our needs! And this particular ES was not as clean as I feel a hotel room should be! (i.e., Stains on the carpet).”

“The hotel must have been built in the early 80's with no remodels since. Very dated, straight from Miami Vice! Carpet tears duct taped in room, bathroom vanity half collapsed and leaning/leaking. Slow drain too. Up side is helpful friendly staff, though wouldn't extend checkout time.”

• The rooms are very outdated. The hotel needs a renovation.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. The free managers reception and breakfast were good perks. I liked that the hotel was slightly off from downtown so traffic was less hectic. The rooms are in need of a face lift. Comparable to other Embassy Suites that I have stayed at, this one is by far the worst for comfort and cleanliness.”

• The complimentary happy hour and breakfast were excellent.
• The location was not as convenient to the downtown area as I had hoped.

“Upon arrival, we were given a room that was already occupied and the second room we were given was directly above the smoking floor, thus the room smelled of smoke. Finally, we were given yet another room that was much better (on the 1st floor).”

“I got into my room and the phones did not work. They tried to fix them but then moved me to a different room. They compensated me with a free 2 topping pizza which was very nice. My daughter got there and the air conditioner in her room did not work, they moved her after the kids had fallen asleep, they gave her a free movie. There was a lot of dust in the rooms. The wonderful staff and great breakfast made up for it.”

• It was very clean & spacious. It was quiet & the breakfast was very good.
• No one told us that we had to pay for parking or how to use the parking ramp. Luckily I read the booklet, so I knew to ask for a card to get off the ramp.

“The desk was busy & the remote needed a battery. Otherwise, it was an excellent place to stay. It was quiet and the decorations were very nice. We enjoyed our stay and it was close enough to the Target Center that we could walk. It was great.”

• Funky decor, noisy location and remote from busier part of downtown Minneapolis.

“The furnishings must have been some designer's idea of whimsical but the riot of colors and patterns gave me a headache. And there were some chips, dents and scratches throughout the rooms that were noticeable. The bathroom was adequate. Embassy Suites' practice of the complimentary cocktail hour and breakfast make this a great place to go with a few families.”

• The staff was cordial but not friendly.

“The 'motel' was located very well - the room was okay - not dirty. But the clerk at the desk - a young girl was very rude - on the cell phone and acted like she was mad that I interrupted her. Very monotone attitude. I was placed at the back of the building by the pool which no one used but people were coming in and out of the motel all hours of the night banging the door shut. I was alone (female) and very nervous. Only in Orlando have I gotten real nice ones and not treated like a low budget customer.”

“This Embassy Suites benefits from a convenient Downtown location, close to the light rail and with skyway access. There is a convenience store at the street level. The staff was friendly. The upholstery and decor were very outdated. The common areas were very dark and depressing, decorated abundantly with ugly shiny black tiles. The tile in the bathroom was a hideous pink and the grout lines were moldy. The faucet handles squealed like Chewbacca when turned on. The toilet paper holder was installed in a terrible location designed for contortionists. The toiletries were poor-quality and generic. The TVs are ancient, from the mid-1980s and the main TV set was unplugged. The drinking glasses were filthy and were placed rim-down on the counter. The supposed high-speed Internet connection was barely faster than dial-up, so it's nearly impossible to do any work.”

“The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, however, the hotel was out dated and in need of an upgrade. The restaurant waitress was very slow, but the food was great. The amenities offered were nothing near what I had expected. The location was close to a lot of things, but not nearly as close or as nice as other 3-4 star hotels we have stayed at in Minneapolis. The two-room suite was convenient but the furnishings and TV's were very old. The hotel staff (front desk clerk, housekeeping, and room service) were very polite and helpful. I would not stay at this particular Embassy again, but might recommend it.”

“This hotel was nice for the price. However, upon checking in I was notified that my double bed suite was going to be a king and pull out (there were three of us). This would have been fine, but the pull was broken. One of my friends had to get a room at another hotel after being offered a room that was already occupied. It took two days to resolve the issue after repeated promises to have it taken care of. The staff was nice, but the facilities are lack luster for the type of hotel. I felt that I would have had a better room at the Best Western across the street. I will be choosing a different hotel in the future.”

“I would go back. It was in a great location for us, and the room was spacious. The decor maybe out of date, but the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful!”

• Outrageous parking fees, fees for internet, drippy faucets, out dated decor for the price. They over rate themselves by about 2 stars!

“Costly to park, couldn't believe they had in room internet fees, the decor was out dated and the faucets drip. They need to take more pride in their 3/4 star hotel. We have stayed in nicer Econo-lodges.”

“This hotel was decent, but no 3 or 4 star. It has obviously been redecorated in stages and nothing really goes. We had a suite. In the first room alone there were 7 uncoordinated patterns and that doesn't even include the art work. The bedroom had 6 clashing patterns, 2 of which were different from the front room. It's pretty tacky and definitely old.”

“It was pleasantly located in walking distance from all the places that we wanted to visit or to dine. Our friends were able to find the hotel quickly and easily; they too thought the hotel was in an excellent location and they loved the home atmosphere of the room as much as we did.”

• Complimentary breakfast and happy hour was great!
• Old decor. Needed updates badly. Noise of slamming doors and late night party goers was unbearable. Only slept 3 hours each night. Better security.

“This hotel is loud at night. Bring ear plugs if you expect to get sleep, doors constantly slamming b/c there are no gadgets on back of door to prevent this. People partying in the halls. Very little security to prevent this. Nice, spacious rooms but decor is outdated for a 4-Star hotel. Location is strange and you will be forced to walk several blocks to restaurants. Connected to skyway, but in awkward area and will be forced to navigate several skyways in order to get to happening area of Downtown. But only 1 block away from train that can take you Downtown, airport or Mall of America. The complimentary breakfast was the best I've had in any hotel. Cook to order eggs, pancakes, etc. Also, I left a coat in the room and front desk refused to ship it to me. Not 4-star service, more like 2.5 or 3 Stars.”

“Free breakfast buffet and free drinks for happy hour made up for the room being outdated. Zebra curtains. Other than that good atmosphere for young people and people going out downtown. About 6 blocks from target center.”

• The ability to control the heat in the room.

“We talked to the manager of the hotel, seems that it is a long standing issue due to the way they get their cooling and heating. The only remedy for the issue is that of opening the window in Mid March and turning on an old box fan that was noisy. The restaurant was not busy at all, but the service was extremely slow.”

“The interior of the hotel looked very nice. The cafe with the palm trees and water were very calming. It was difficult to find the hotel paring from the street. The clerk neglected to tell us of the managers reception in the evenings or the breakfast in the morning when we checked in. I didn't appreciate the omission.”

• 2 TVs and a refrigerator and a comfy bed. Food was tasty and convenient. Mgr reception nice.
• Too many elevators. Decorating needs update. Food was cold. Bathroom vent let smoke in from another room. Stunk.

“Hotel staff very accommodating. Overall pleasant experience except when cig smoke came in from another room. Were under impression Minn. was smoke free interiors. Would have complained, but not hotels fault. Although would have liked a little more shower spray, it is a nice touch to have a hotel going green with energy saving measures.”

• It has a dated appearance, the bath could use new tile and the parking garage was very dirty.

“We enjoyed our time at the MPLS embassy suites downtown. The staff was #1, the common areas are well kept and the "free" breakfast was very good, esp. The omelets made to order. We would stay there again. Loved that it is attached to the skywalk system. Appearance/decor is somewhat dated even though it is supposed to be as the style is art deco.”

• Bath and fixtures a bit "tired", strange entry, expensive daily parking.

“This hotel was fine for my purposes. It is, however, on the fringe of the downtown area unless you are looking to go to the dome. You entered at street level into a not too nice foyer with a 'quick mart' store. Then you had to take an elevator to the actual hotel lobby and that was where the hotel proper really began. That entry might put some people off. Once in the hotel it was quite nice, much like any other embassy suites. I was not impressed to be told that it cost $18 per day to park. One day I could tell that the area between the beds had not been vacuumed (my crumbs remained from the night before. Other than that things were clean. The fixtures in the bathroom seemed a bit shopworn and you had to hold the toilet handle down longer than usual to get a full flush. These issues may seem trivial, but I would have been most unhappy if I had been paying any more than I did. The free breakfast with cook to order included and the free newspapers outside the door were definite pluses. I was unable to take advantage of the "manager's reception" in the afternoon, but I like the idea.”

“Service was mediocre, with one representative seemingly to be upset that the customer interrupted a phone conversation. The fitness center was extremely outdated as I had to repair the cable equipment myself to use. It was nice having breakfast available (including made to order omelets) along with a complementary snack and drink free of charge. Location was decent but had to walk about 5 6 blocks to get to the main area of restaurants and external amenities. Overall, stay was decent, decor was outdated, fitness was terrible (but seemed to have a room under construction) and service was mediocre.”

“Arrived approx. 12:15 a.m., room had pipe leak with bathroom ceiling on floor, hide abed had pretzels in it and was never changed. Moved to different room with hide abed that was broken. Spent 1st night sleeping on floor. 2nd day lock to door went work, and fan wasn't working in room.”

• The suite was larger than expected, great for a longer stay, I liked the complimentary happy hour and breakfast.
• The parking ramp used tokens, which we were not informed about! We got all the way to the gate without our token.

“The room was very spacious, with a kitchen and dining table for 4. I liked that the bedroom had a separate door, great for a family to stay comfortably.”
