• The room was great and clean.

“The hotel was in a great location and very clean. I had nice clean big room that was very nice. The only thing that I did not like was that I had two single beds.”

• It was close to the train station so you didn't have to drive.
• No vending machines, very expensive to park and very expensive to eat.

“This is a very nice hotel if you do not have a budget. There are no vending machines or pop machines in the entire hotel, you have to use the mini bar or bring your own. This hotel is Downtown, so nothing is open on the weekends. We were trying to find somewhere to eat breakfast on Sunday morning and ended up waiting until we went to the mall of America because everything was closed and room service was very expensive. There is also no pool or hot tub in this hotel and you have to park in their parking ramp, which is $20/day. It is a very nice hotel, but not if you have to stay within a budget.”

“Room was freezing cold, had to call for a space heater, room still did not warm up. Had to call 3 times for a rollaway cot. Room service was prompt but way overpriced and food was of low quality. Bathroom had mold, shower door would not close, had a tag on towel rack telling me that bathrooms were undergoing a major renovation spring 2008 (big deal) this is not a 4 star hotel.”

• The room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable.
• The bathroom needs updating.

“This is my favorite Downtown Minneapolis hotel. The rooms are well appointed and beautifully arranged. (The TV is not the focal point!) The beds are extremely comfortable with luxury bedding and firm mattresses. The hotel is completing a total bathroom remodeling in the next couple of months, after which this place will be more than a little bit of heaven away from home!”

• Very comfortable, clean, classy and had a great location for the price we paid, had a fabulous time!
• The fridge was so full with stuff we couldnt even put our beverages in it.

• The location and decor were great.
• The staff were borderline rude. The room had an incredible cold draft which made sleeping extremely miserable.

“Once we arrived they gave us a room with one king bed and offered an "upgrade" for an additional money or roll always for additional money. Staff was not friendly and could be considered rude. Then once in the room there was a cold air draft that created a cold wind and made sleeping impossible, even with winter coats, blankets and layers of clothes on. It was below a 1 star experience for us.”

• Non smoking room smelled strongly of smoke.

“Very friendly staff, room had nice view, and if you like ultra firm beds, this one's for you. I would stay there again, although if more than one night, I would ask for a different room only because our non smoking room smelled as if someone had recently smoked in it.”

• The bathroom tub and shower had mold.

“The bathroom was not very clean, with mold in the shower and tub area. We asked to see another room, but it also had bold in the tub and shower area. It is my understanding they will update the bathrooms in 2008. In the meantime, this is not a 5 star hotel in my opinion.”

• It was clean and spacious and relaxing.
• The lobby and lounge are a bit confusing for size, staff, where you are supposed to go.

“I felt comfortable, relaxed and very safe in the elegant and spacious rooms and surrounding area. The concierge was helpful, fun and knew the community well. The table wait staff in the lounge went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. I had a lovely experience and would go back in a heartbeat.”

• We were close to the elevator and did hear associated noise during the night.

“This hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Minneapolis and the parking was reasonable on the weekend and also convenient. Loved that it was part of the ids center and we could shop without going outside all day! The room was pretty standard hotel looking but very comfortable beds and very clean.”

“I was disappointed with the hotel. It was not very clean or modern. I think the Radisson in Bloomington, man rated a as 3 should have been a 4 star, and the Marquette should have been a 2.5 star. Not impressed.”

• Televisions old, no pool for the kids.

“All in all a very nice place. The bathrooms and the televisions need updating, but they are going to in the next few months. The workout room was very nice, I could have made due but went to an outside gym that was very close.”

“The location of this hotel is great! Because I was attending a wedding at 3 p.m., the desk clerk allowed me to check in at an earlier time, at around 1:30, which helped me a great deal. The room was very nice, clean and quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who needed to stay in downtown Minneapolis!”

• Some non-smoking room has smoke smell.

“This is the most convenient hotel you can find in Minneapolis downtown. The parking fee is high if you choose to park right at the center, but there are several parking garage really close to this hotel for cheaper price. Room is spacious and clean, they don't have too many double bed, so we only have one king bed. The 50th floor Sunday brunch is awesome, definitely worth to try. The food in the lounge is not worth the price. Overall, service is good, staff respond quickly and always friendly. I have two non-smoking room and one of them has smoke smell, request to change (staff is helpful) but finally decide not to move again.”

• The location was excellent for "night life". The rooms were so comfortable! We couldn't wait to sleep!
• The shower door was hard to close, that was it. Everything was great! We loved our experience. Even the shampoo and conditioner were great!

• The sleeping area and common spaces were very nice.
• The bathroom was in poor repair and the front desk staff was terrible.

“Maybe it was bad luck, or maybe really poor service, but every time I needed something from the front desk I received terrible results. From the dining suggestion for some late night eats (after a full day of traveling) to giving directions to the nearest convenience store that was out of business. It seemed like the poor service and suggestions were constant. Then to make matters worse, the bathroom was in poor repair, the shower doors barely worked and it looked like someone kicked in a portion of the wall and it was repaired by someone with no facility experience.”

• Parking and the ability to get to the underground parking is terrible.

“The hotel seems to be a wannabe. They try to portray upscale almost snobbiest. Room was cold. It is just getting to be fall and we couldn't get the thermostat to heat instead of cool. Nice corner rooms due to the architecture.”

• The room was very spacious, allowing for my 1 year old to play as he liked.
• Service at the front desk and door was lacking. Public spaces are not very attractive.

“My 13 month old and I enjoyed our stay at the Marquette. Our non-smoking king was very spacious and the bed was exceptionally comfortable! The bathroom had a large tub/hand-held shower combination and a large, well-lit vanity. Very attractive, modern furnishings. Lots of closet space! Our interior room was very quiet despite being adjacent the ice machine and elevators. We did find the service to be a bit lacking and the hotel in general to be ill-equipped for wheelchairs/strollers. The lobby is nothing to write home about. We did eat at the in-house restaurant basil's for breakfast and enjoyed it. The location cannot be beat! Entrance to the hotel on the first level of the underground parking garage was very handy. I've stayed at several hotels in downtown Minneapolis and the Marquette is my favorite overall.”

• Maid service was terrible, did not restock items.

“The hotel itself was beautiful. Maid service was poor. They did not restock items we used the previous day and we were there 3 days. No hair conditioner left, coffee ran out and we called and still it was not replaced. The nicest hotel we have ever stayed in but no service, we were very disappointed with that.”

• Stark decor. Parking is overpriced.
