• I paid $20 each day for parking, and you also pay for wireless internet access.

“It was sufficient, but I was frustrated by the high costs for parking in the ramp (which the Crowne Plaza doesn't own) and being charged for wireless internet access.”

• The huge room and the location were great.
• Hard to say anything bad, but perhaps the furniture is a bit dated and worn.

• The staff was happy to help.
• Old hotel, fixtures carpet furniture etc. Was rundown, not equal to star level, difficult parking, expensive internet.

“I would not stay at this hotel again except for a much lower price. This is definitely an old and rundown hotel. Parking was difficult and just getting to and from the hotel and parking garage was a pain. This is not equal to the star level I paid for. I would rather have paid the extra few bucks to stay at the Radisson downtown, which is at the same star level and way better. .”

• Two vanity/sink areas - one outside the bathroom; quality of bedding and furnishings.
• Extremely slow elevators! Small bathroom with old fixtures; small room overall; unappealing, cramped lobby for a Crowne Plaza hotel.

“My husband is a regular guest at Crowne Plaza hotels, and we were surprised that this hotel belonged to the hotel chain. It has a small, ordinary lobby and the room we were assigned was small and old. Its location is very convenient - only 2 blocks from downtown. The elevator service was extraordinarily slow - we waited 10 minutes for an elevator; fellow guests who were also waiting called down to guests services twice to alert them (complain). Along with the fact that it was not a typical Crowne Plaza experience for us, the elevator problem was so annoying that we would probably not stay here again. There are lots of other hotels downtown.”

• The room was clean.
• I paid for a room with a view and got a room that looked out into an office building.

“I would not recommend this hotel. You do not get what you pay for. Also we took a taxi that was outside the hotel to a restaurant and paid way too much to go 10 blocks. Took a restaurant cab back and paid way less. The room I paid for was supposed to have a view. Ours did not and the hotel was hard to get to.”

• Fast internet connection, friendly personal.
• Just once: black hair in bath/floor, not cleaned properly.

“When we first arrived there was black hair in the bath/floor. It was not cleaned properly before we arrived. Afterwards the room maids did a good job. The personal was very friendly (10 from 10) and the internet connection in the business center was fast and free to use. The room was a little bit dark and did not have a mini bar or a small refrigerator. I would have liked that. The TV had good quality and with hbo, espn, tnt and so on, I could watch interesting series and films, which was very nice. It was my first visit to the USA.”

“This was our second time at the crowned plaza and it was perfect. Good quality, extremely friendly and helpful staff, attached/covered parking, attached covered walkway system throughout Minneapolis downtown areas. Can't recommend it enough.”

• The employees were great and the location was nice.
• The restaurant is very small without a bar.

“All of the employees were helpful and friendly. Dante was very helpful in finding places for my family to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. The front desk was wonderful also. It was a good location and the room was clean. ”

• The sleep package is very thoughtful - besides comfortable beds, there are ear plugs, an eye mask, and a cd with restful music.
• I liked everything.

“The staff was very pleasant and accommodating, quick to respond to requests for information, etc. The hotel was within just two or three blocks of the light rail system, making it a quick and inexpensive ($2.00) non-stop trip directly from the airport. It was also easy to walk to shopping, entertainment and restaurants.”

• My room was very spacious and had two large windows and a good view.
• The painted teal tiles in the bathroom are very tacky and tired.

“I really enjoyed my stay at the crowned plaza north star. The front desk cheerfully switched me to a new room when asked (my initial room overlooked an internal courtyard and was dark). Breakfast through room service was on schedule and tasty. ”

• Could have to be careful not to be on the 7th floor as there are also rooms and a place to eat/conference, which might be too much noise.

• The skyway system makes downtown shopping convenient (and warmer in the winter).
• The children would have loved a pool.

• Clean, friendly & helpful staff, sleep aid packet, variety of pillow types, comfortable bed.
• No pool, on Sunday there is VERY little open near the hotel.

“Very clean, comfortable room. Good bed and variety of pillow types to suit all preferences. Nice sleep aide packet, C/D player, large bathroom. Perfect for business traveler. NOT convenient for Sunday stays, since downtown is closed up.”

“We were visiting to attend a football game at the Metronome. The location of the hotel is just a short walk to the dome. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a very pleasant stay and will probably stay at this hotel again.”

• Clean. Left some items behind, housekeeping helpful, but supervisor didn't follow up until we called a second time.
• Front desk never heard of The Summit Brewing Co. in St Paul. Gave us vastly incorrect directions causing us to be late for our reserved tour.

“The hotel was fine... room clean & quite lovely. Bathroom spotless. Front desk often seemed overwhelmed for answering the phone while trying to talk with us. Incorrect directions from front desk almost resulted in us missing our much anticipated brewery tour.”

• The bed was fantastic.
• For pay wireless Internet Free wireless Internet is available at Micro tel.

“This hotel is very nice. It has a clean lobby, excellent rooms, and attentive staff. The room service is fast, and the food quality was above expectations! Parking is at a reasonable rate for Minneapolis, and you can come and go from the ramp without a hassle. The location is great: it is far enough from City Center to be quiet, but close enough for access to the bars and Nicolet Mall.”

“The Crown Plaza is beginning to look a little tired. New comforters on the bed do not hide the need for other upkeep. I was disappointed that there was not free wireless and that local calls cost $1 each. These may be fine for business travelers with business credit cards but seemed out of line for leisure travelers. The ultimate question would be--would I stay there again? Probably not.”

• They moved us into a suite the second night when we were unhappy about the room.
• The room beside the elevator is unbearably noisy. The safety deposit box at reception did not operate. There should be individual safes.

“Well located. Pleasant staff. Small lobby. Room beside elevator was too noisy for sleeping but the Ambassador Suite was fabulous. The safety deposit box was on a combination that did not work so I had to carry my valuables with me in Minneapolis.”

• Room was enormous and nice--and the "sleep sound" package was neat.
• Elevator from public parking garage to hotel room floors was not secure.

“This place was great, and for the price we paid it was absolutely-freak in'-PHENOMENAL! The front desk staff was very friendly and responsive. This hotel's location right in the heart of Minneapolis puts you a short walk from great shopping and nightlife. Also, make sure to note that the hotel is above a parking garage that has a substantially discounted rate for hotel guests.”

• Great location in the heart of downtown Mpls night life. Super friendly staff, nice lounge made for a very nice three day stay.
• Would like to stay again, next time with family, but the hotel is lacking a pool.

“Great hotel for the traveler looking to stay in the Minneapolis downtown area, it is very close to everything I like to find in the cities- Metronome, restaurants, bars-lounges, shopping. Staff at the front desk were all very friendly, room very clean, great shower head, very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. I will stay here again and highly recommend for Minneapolis travelers.”

• The Crowne was affordable, clean, and convenient.
• The lobby is small and unattractive.

“This was a pretty nice place. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was friendly enough, but too few in number. There were often waits at the front desk. There system also had trouble linking together both nights of my reservation, be sure to call ahead to confirm as well as tell them at check in if you have a multiple night reservation. They did honor my request for a king-size bed and no smoking.”

• Hotel was clean and in great location.
• Construction going on all night never stopped, and could here other rooms talking walls to thin.

“hotel was nice but it was under construction and it went all night and never stopped so we could not sleep, it stopped at 4 am for about 1 and a half hours and that was it, also the hallways were very loud and we could hear right through the walls. This was the worst stay and the hotel was not worth the money it costed, would not like to stay there again”

“Nice choice for downtown Minneapolis; just a few blocks from shopping and restaurants but in a quiet and seemingly safe location. Was practically empty when I was there (a weekend) so the staff were especially attentive and helpful. Also, since the hotel was empty, I heard not a single sound at night. The room was all I expected--a large king with desk and comfortable chair with an ottoman. Crowner Plaza offers down alternative comforters and decent pillows as part of a special sleep package. I was on the 15th floor with a view of other high-rises; I wish I could have opened the window more than three inches since it was pleasant weather. I called the day before my stay to see if I could check in early and they were most accommodating I would choose the hotel again especially at the very reasonable price I was offered.”
