• Wireless free Internet in attractive lobby, great downtown views, walking distance to everything, spacious room, incredibly helpful staff!
• From parking lot to hotel entrance quite a distance - need to drive several blocks out of way (one way street) to front entrance - lobby on 5th floor.

“The time spent in the hotel was quite comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. My husband and I traveled with mountain bikes which the doorman stored locked in his closet at the main entry for anytime access! A travel-size fridge was made available for our convenience and brought to our room. The staff promptly moved us to a room (with an incredible downtown view) when I requested if we could have a room that included a bath tub. Wireless internet is available free on the spacious, comfortably and beautifully accommodated 5th floor lobby. The only downside to our stay was that the parking lot was a bit of a walk to get to from our room and certainly not the most convenient if we needed to get our car from the parking lot to the main entrance. From guest rooms, one must first travel to the 5th floor lobby and then take a second set of elevators to the skyway/main entrance. One must then walk (indoors) the equivalent of a city block to take another set of elevators to the parking garage. If traveling to the front entrance, one must drive 10 blocks (due to one way traffic) from the parking garage to the hotel entrance. Spending extra to have our car valet parked would have been worth the money to save us some time. Parking aside, the location of the hotel is convenient. Great restaurants, entertainment, and shopping is within blocks, that one may not need to drive anywhere and find walking (within a convenient skyway system) the best mode of transportation.”

“This hotel is awesome. It makes you feel rich. The beds are so comfy and cushy. The room was so clean very inviting. High end everything. I also enjoyed the bath and body works soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. I would come here again in a heart beat.”

“Downtown location very convenient to Nicollet Mall and block E. Friendly staff, beautiful room. No pool, which was a bit disappointing, but we probably would not have had time to go in it anyway. Didn't try any of the restaurants or bars.”

• We had a great room! It was large with views of the city in two directions.
• Access from the parking ramp is very inconvenient. We've stayed there before and still found it confusing.

“The Minneapolis Marriot is a beautiful hotel. We were very happy to be put in a lovely, large room with great city views in two directions. Top notch for cleanliness, comfort and service. The hotel is very convenient to shopping and downtown restaurants. The only down side is the inconvenient ramp parking. Valet parking is an option, however.”

• No mini bar.

“This hotel has small but attractive rooms, great beds and pillows. I usually bring my own pillow because hotel pillows are too firm, but I didn't need mine! Internet access charge is high but there is free use of computers in the lobby and a computer dedicated to printing out your boarding pass. Great gym also. Was in Minneapolis to see family so didn't use other amenities, but the price was so good it made it worth staying Downtown!”

“The remodel of this Marriot turned out well. It is a great improvement and really brought it up to date. The workout facility is nice but a little small. I will stay here again if possible.”

• A lot of white trash - like the caddies from Caddy Shack.

“The Marriot Bloomington is a standard hotel with the amenities that one would expect at a business-level accommodation. There is nothing that stands out as superb and nothing that stands out as inadequate. There appears to be an allowance of non-standard guests frequenting the pool area after 9 pm, most likely the staff and their friends and family. The hotel should put a stop to that if they do not wish to see their star rating fall below that of a 2, relegating them to the ranks of a Super 8 or Motel 6.”

“Check-in was smooth. We requested & were given a room with 2 double beds. The room was adequate size with a great view, great windows, and a nice size closet. Beds were very clean and comfortable with 4 pillows and a feather top mattress. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location is very convenient to Nicollet shopping and Downtown activities.”

• The staff was exceptionally friendly.

“The location and staff were great! Lots of entertainment, food, and shopping within walking distance. The staff treated us like we were the only guests at the hotel; the concierge was eager to help with cabs, events, and dinner reservations. Staff also accommodated our request for a king room and we were given a large suite! Excellent customer service and we'll definitely return.”

• Our room didn't have a tub, also no pool.

“We stayed for our 35th anniversary. It was very comfortable for the price. The room service breakfast was great! Loved the Bath & Body works products in bathroom. We enjoyed being close to shopping, restaurants and the movie theater. We would have liked to have a fridge in the room.”

• Rooms were very nicely decorated and comfortable.
• The walk to the parking garage was rather long

“Wish I had taken my bags in the front entrance while my husband parked our car as the hike from the parking garage to the hotel is a fairly long one (I think it took us 5-10 minutes to get from our car to our room). Aside from that, the hotel was very nice. Everything was very clean and although our only encounters with staff were at check-in and once when room service was delivered, both were pleasant. The bedding is luxurious and the furnishings and decor are beautiful.”

• No swimming pool.

“This hotel is attached to the downtown mall which is convenient for shopping. The bedding and beds were very nice and high quality. Room was very clean and well decorated. Five elevators which are very quick. Bellman will fetch you a cab which are already waiting outside of the hotel which makes transportation easy.”

“My only great complaint of this hotel is staying on the 27th floor everytime I went down to the lobby to leave, the elevator stopped on numerous floors (7 times on one trip down). Very time consuming. Otherwise, rooms and views are great and comfortable - spacious!”

• Very small room, no refrigerator, parking to hotel a hassle to drag luggage.

“Wanting a romantic getaway for our 22nd anniversary, we found this to be a location we would not choose again, as the parking ramp was very inconvenient to drag luggage through city center to the hotel elevators, then up to the next level of elevators, and then yet another set of elevators to get to our room. The room we had was comfortable, but quite small, and no refrigerator in a 4 star hotel was very surprising, and disappointing. The bedding was plush, but the mattress was quite too firm for a really restful night's sleep. On the positive side, every staff member we spoke with or had contact with, down to the hotel maintenance engineer was extremely friendly and politely helpful, which really salvaged our weekend. We will not return to the Downtown Marriott for a romantic getaway.”

• Upscale look to the hotel, convenient to restaurants and the theater, friendly helpful staff.
• The pillows were much too soft for our liking.

“My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Marriott city center. The hotel has been beautifully redecorated and the check in staff was very friendly and helpful. He was quick to tell us about the discounted parking and provided the needed paper work for our departure the next day. Our room was beautiful with a wonderful west/sunset view of MSP. The bedding was heavenly. Beautifully decorated very soft sheets and overall extremely inviting. The hotel is located in the heart (walking distance) to the Theater District, Target Center, shopping and numerous great restaurants. The concierge was able to get us a table at a very popular restaurant (something I wasn't able to do by just calling the restaurant) and then surprised us with a complementary appetizer! All of the staff we had contact with made sure we felt like we were the only ones staying there and acknowledged us as we walked by. I can't say enough about the Marriott City Center and looking forward to my next stay there.”

• Lobby was confusing to get to and no one was at front desk.

“Newly remodeled and well appointed. The pictures in the rooms were of local scenes. Wasn't very quiet as there seemed to be lots of teenagers running around for a dance competition - would have been nice to have them all the same floors and not with other guests. Work-out room was also nice.”

• Parking was inconvenient & there was a lot of walking just to get to the room.

“I loved the location of the hotel. It was by every place I needed to go. The only complaint I have is that there was no direct way to our room. We had to go through the parking garage connected to the Convention Center, take an elevator to the lobby on the 5th floor. After that elevator to a completely different one to go to our room. It wasn't very convenient.”

“Nicely situated in Downtown Minneapolis. Accessible to just about anything. We were able to walk to restaurants and bars in the area. Stayed on the 31st floor with a fantastic view. The suite had two floors and a huge, comfy bed. This was more than I expected.”

• Service in the restaurant was indifferent, had to ask twice for extra water for tea.

• When the hotel found out it was a special occasion, they offer us complimentary champagne and strawberries.
• All the hallways are narrow and at angles. I was not offered a king bed instead of two doubles.

“The hotel staff was very polite and helpful, however, we had to allow a valet help us up the elevator with our bags and we had to have some from the concierge area accompany us to our room. The hotel is located downtown and amidst a tangle of one-way streets. The parking ramp did not adjoin the hotel but was connected by skyway. The hotel was clean, modern and tastefully decorated. The restaurant was adequate but not as fancy as I had hoped. The bar area is urban chic but separated from the check-in area by a couple of half-walls. There were complimentary glassware and toiletries in the room. The TV had many on-screen menus and was difficult to navigate. I was disappointed there was no pool or whirlpool. The workout room is top notch. There are saunas located in each locker room adjoining the workout area. I was provided with a parking voucher for the ramp.”

• 5th floor registration desk, requiring 2 elevators (one from street, second to room).

“Excellent place to stay when in MPLS. Also very close to light rail station. Registration desk also upgraded our room with no additional cost!”
