• The staff was exceptionally friendly.

“The location and staff were great! Lots of entertainment, food, and shopping within walking distance. The staff treated us like we were the only guests at the hotel; the concierge was eager to help with cabs, events, and dinner reservations. Staff also accommodated our request for a king room and we were given a large suite! Excellent customer service and we'll definitely return.”

• Non-smoking, comfy bed, staff helpful & kind.
• Our room didn't have a tub, also no pool.

“We stayed for our 35th anniversary. It was very comfortable for the price. The room service breakfast was great! Loved the Bath & Body works products in bathroom. We enjoyed being close to shopping, restaurants and the movie theater. We would have liked to have a fridge in the room.”

• Rooms were very nicely decorated and comfortable.
• The walk to the parking garage was rather long

“Wish I had taken my bags in the front entrance while my husband parked our car as the hike from the parking garage to the hotel is a fairly long one (I think it took us 5-10 minutes to get from our car to our room). Aside from that, the hotel was very nice. Everything was very clean and although our only encounters with staff were at check-in and once when room service was delivered, both were pleasant. The bedding is luxurious and the furnishings and decor are beautiful.”

• Awesome bedding and comfortable bed. Polite staff.
• No swimming pool.

“This hotel is attached to the downtown mall which is convenient for shopping. The bedding and beds were very nice and high quality. Room was very clean and well decorated. Five elevators which are very quick. Bellman will fetch you a cab which are already waiting outside of the hotel which makes transportation easy.”

“My only great complaint of this hotel is staying on the 27th floor everytime I went down to the lobby to leave, the elevator stopped on numerous floors (7 times on one trip down). Very time consuming. Otherwise, rooms and views are great and comfortable - spacious!”

• Staff was all very friendly and accommodating.
• Very small room, no refrigerator, parking to hotel a hassle to drag luggage.

“Wanting a romantic getaway for our 22nd anniversary, we found this to be a location we would not choose again, as the parking ramp was very inconvenient to drag luggage through city center to the hotel elevators, then up to the next level of elevators, and then yet another set of elevators to get to our room. The room we had was comfortable, but quite small, and no refrigerator in a 4 star hotel was very surprising, and disappointing. The bedding was plush, but the mattress was quite too firm for a really restful night's sleep. On the positive side, every staff member we spoke with or had contact with, down to the hotel maintenance engineer was extremely friendly and politely helpful, which really salvaged our weekend. We will not return to the Downtown Marriott for a romantic getaway.”

• Upscale look to the hotel, convenient to restaurants and the theater, friendly helpful staff.
• The pillows were much too soft for our liking.

“My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Marriott city center. The hotel has been beautifully redecorated and the check in staff was very friendly and helpful. He was quick to tell us about the discounted parking and provided the needed paper work for our departure the next day. Our room was beautiful with a wonderful west/sunset view of MSP. The bedding was heavenly. Beautifully decorated very soft sheets and overall extremely inviting. The hotel is located in the heart (walking distance) to the Theater District, Target Center, shopping and numerous great restaurants. The concierge was able to get us a table at a very popular restaurant (something I wasn't able to do by just calling the restaurant) and then surprised us with a complementary appetizer! All of the staff we had contact with made sure we felt like we were the only ones staying there and acknowledged us as we walked by. I can't say enough about the Marriott City Center and looking forward to my next stay there.”

• Parking prices were high, no swimming pool.

“This hotel had excellent quality bedding, great pillows. Room service prices were reasonable. Did not have a pool, making it less likeable for families. Parking prices almost wipe out the savings you get on the room.”

• Beds had nice wrapped comforters and lots of pillows. Well-equipped and spacious work-out facility.
• Lobby was confusing to get to and no one was at front desk.

“Newly remodeled and well appointed. The pictures in the rooms were of local scenes. Wasn't very quiet as there seemed to be lots of teenagers running around for a dance competition - would have been nice to have them all the same floors and not with other guests. Work-out room was also nice.”

• To get from your hotel room to your car takes about 5-6 minutes.

• Hotel staff was very friendly & hotel was very clean.
• Parking was inconvenient & there was a lot of walking just to get to the room.

“I loved the location of the hotel. It was by every place I needed to go. The only complaint I have is that there was no direct way to our room. We had to go through the parking garage connected to the Convention Center, take an elevator to the lobby on the 5th floor. After that elevator to a completely different one to go to our room. It wasn't very convenient.”

“Nicely situated in Downtown Minneapolis. Accessible to just about anything. We were able to walk to restaurants and bars in the area. Stayed on the 31st floor with a fantastic view. The suite had two floors and a huge, comfy bed. This was more than I expected.”

• Service in the restaurant was indifferent, had to ask twice for extra water for tea.

• When the hotel found out it was a special occasion, they offer us complimentary champagne and strawberries.
• All the hallways are narrow and at angles. I was not offered a king bed instead of two doubles.

“The hotel staff was very polite and helpful, however, we had to allow a valet help us up the elevator with our bags and we had to have some from the concierge area accompany us to our room. The hotel is located downtown and amidst a tangle of one-way streets. The parking ramp did not adjoin the hotel but was connected by skyway. The hotel was clean, modern and tastefully decorated. The restaurant was adequate but not as fancy as I had hoped. The bar area is urban chic but separated from the check-in area by a couple of half-walls. There were complimentary glassware and toiletries in the room. The TV had many on-screen menus and was difficult to navigate. I was disappointed there was no pool or whirlpool. The workout room is top notch. There are saunas located in each locker room adjoining the workout area. I was provided with a parking voucher for the ramp.”

• 5th floor registration desk, requiring 2 elevators (one from street, second to room).

“Excellent place to stay when in MPLS. Also very close to light rail station. Registration desk also upgraded our room with no additional cost!”

“We went to a concert at target center, this hotel was perfect. The room was spacious for four of us. And the hotel was easy to find, parking not a problem! Very satisfied.”

“Perfect for our needs. We wanted something close to downtown where we'd be able to park the car and travel via cab for the remainder of the night. Room was excellent. It gets my highest recommendation.”

• The staff was super and friendly.
• The bell boy wouldn't let us a cart to carry our luggage and we had to carry it a long ways.

“The hotel was very nice. We had a great view of the Downtown, and the room was very comfortable. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.”

• Poor electrical outlets, pathetic Internet connectivity, no radio, broken television.

• Very close to Mall of America and Minneapolis - St Paul Airport.
• Room was very noisy. Neighbors were very loud and you could hear the TV from the next room.

“Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, and the bar/restaurant was nice. However, the room was noisy because of my next door neighbors. It seems the walls were thin because you could hear their TV as well as their conversations. The bar, on a Friday night (after 10pm) was pretty much dead, even though the bartender said it would be very busy. Also, I wish the shuttle would travel every 15 minutes instead of 30. If you miss the shuttle, you're basically stuck, which is why I kept my rental car one extra day. As it turns out, I didn't need it, but it beat being late to an early flight at the airport.”

• I wish it had free wireless internet in all areas, not just the lobby.

“We stayed for two nights and it was great. Our room was directly across the hall from the pool entrance which ended up being great. We knew when it was empty and could swim without kids running around. From 11p-1a is an "adult swim", which we took advantage of. The MOA is just across the street which is fantastic. We parked in the mall ramp and then took light rail to downtown; super convenient and inexpensive! My only dislike for the hotel was the free wireless internet was only available in the lobby area. It cost $10(?)/24 hours in-room, which was slightly disappointing, but going to the lobby wasn't bad at all.”

• The renovations will make it an even better place to stay when completed.
• The dinner menu selection could have been more extensive.

“Great location and facility. Reception is currently being renovated and this causes some confusion about checking in, but it's temporary only. The rooms are fitted and decorated well and the staff is extremely friendly and obliging.”

• Only one restaurant - a little upscale, would like a more moderately priced restaurant.

“Hotel within 5 minute walk of Mall of America. For the most part pleasant hotel staff, shuttle bus drivers with great sense of humor and interest in visitor comfort and enjoyment. Absolutely wonderful beds, clean, a little noisy - soundproofing could be better.”

“The shuttle was on time always and came frequently. We listened to allot of people complain and wait for their shuttles from other hotels. The staff went out of their way to help you with anything thing you needed. They were full of information and always finding ways to help you.”
