• The friendliness and promptness of the staff.
• There was no elevator at the side that my room was at, so I have to take all the language up the stairs, one level though.

• Breakfast was overpriced. Should have walked to the adjacent mall areas for food.

“Location at night is active and police are standing outside (six of them) the building. I'm sure that's good to have them there but the fact that they are needed in such a presence. I would stay again but there isn't a lot to do downtown unless you are going to an planned event. It was close to everything. About 7 blocks away from the Metrodome and 3 from Target Center.”

• Having to walk through the mall from the garage to the hotel by yourself with luggage was a little uncomfortable.

“If you get dropped off at the front entrance it would be fine but if you park in the garage an you go thorough one elevator down to the 1st floor then you have to walk through the hallways an through a vacant mall an then find the other set of elevators it is a long way to carry your bags with no help an in the evening is a little scary when you are by yourself. But the hotel is beautiful the staff is friendly an helpful. Room was clean and beautiful and had a beautiful view of the city.”

• Upscale with a nice restaurant and large bar. Across the street from IKEA.
• Shower would change temperature to major extremes. When I told the staff, they wrote a note for maintenance and comped part of our stay.

“Very nice, clean with a very friendly staff. Shuttle to the Mall/train was very nice as well and on time. Bed was nice, but the shower temperature would fluctuate.”

“In general, a lovely hotel. It seems odd that all across the country we stay in mediocre motels while traveling and have free internet connection in the room. It was very irksome to see that this hotel charges for internet connection in the room. It was quite a hike to the parking garage.”

• Street level safety is an issue (lots of pan-handlers and loiterers).

• Staff repeated same statement when asked about making a local call.

“Great room, great service overall. However, if you need to make a local call, make sure you have.35 cents because the staff will not address your question - only states that the payphone is around the corner over and over again.”

• We got to leave.
• Our room was a strange shape and therefore extremely small.

“I will never stay at this hotel again. When we arrived at the hotel, it took about 10 minutes to get a valet to take our car. Then you walk in to a security guard that tells you to go to the 4th floor to check in. No sign of hotel staff anywhere. Check in went quickly, however, when we arrived at our room, it was a strange shape and incredibly small. My bedroom at home is bigger and nicer. I wish I would have stayed at home! While they had granite counter tops and decent furniture in the room, the bathroom was so small that there wasn't a wall big enough to put a towel bar up. So, there was no place to hang your wet towels. Also, the bathroom was so small that you had to close the bathroom door to get into the shower. And to finish things off, at 8:00 am the next morning, we were woken up by a maid pounding on the door asking when we were planning on leaving so she could clean our room. Check out wasn't until 11:00. I would never ever stay in this hotel again. Go two blocks up and stay at the 601 Graves. Now that is a fantastic hotel!”

• I liked the location.
• No complimentary breakfast and restaurant was very expensive.

“There was 5 of us staying there and we only got 1 king size bed and the sofa sleeper so needless to say we did not have much room. The pool was small and nothing to brag about. They did have good bath and body products in the bathroom but the shower did not have good pressure and the water kept going from hot to cold.”

• The bed was the most comfortable sleep I have ever had!
• They charged for internet in the room and it wasn't even wireless. Not cool!

• The staff was so accommodating. Decor was very art decor. Smoking not available or allowed. I smoke! It was okay.

• Accommodations were very attractive, very trendy. Beds were wonderfully comfortable.
• Initially we were placed in an unclean room, but it was rectified.

“The style of this hotel is ultra modern contemporary. It is upscale and very inviting especially due to the large size. Beds are very comfortable, as well as down pillows my favorite because I didn't have to bring my own.”

• There was extra attention and planning for safety of guests - separate elevator to lobby that did not go directly to rooms, and security personnel.
• There is nothing for comment here - nothing to dislike.

“We enjoyed the Marriott room. It may be that by arriving well before 6 pm in mid week helped us to secure the king room. The experience was good for us especially since we could specify the neighborhood of the Minneapolis metropolitan area we wanted for the search.”

• The A/C HVAC system made too much noise as it turned on and off throughout the night.

• Wireless free Internet in attractive lobby, great downtown views, walking distance to everything, spacious room, incredibly helpful staff!
• From parking lot to hotel entrance quite a distance - need to drive several blocks out of way (one way street) to front entrance - lobby on 5th floor.

“The time spent in the hotel was quite comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. My husband and I traveled with mountain bikes which the doorman stored locked in his closet at the main entry for anytime access! A travel-size fridge was made available for our convenience and brought to our room. The staff promptly moved us to a room (with an incredible downtown view) when I requested if we could have a room that included a bath tub. Wireless internet is available free on the spacious, comfortably and beautifully accommodated 5th floor lobby. The only downside to our stay was that the parking lot was a bit of a walk to get to from our room and certainly not the most convenient if we needed to get our car from the parking lot to the main entrance. From guest rooms, one must first travel to the 5th floor lobby and then take a second set of elevators to the skyway/main entrance. One must then walk (indoors) the equivalent of a city block to take another set of elevators to the parking garage. If traveling to the front entrance, one must drive 10 blocks (due to one way traffic) from the parking garage to the hotel entrance. Spending extra to have our car valet parked would have been worth the money to save us some time. Parking aside, the location of the hotel is convenient. Great restaurants, entertainment, and shopping is within blocks, that one may not need to drive anywhere and find walking (within a convenient skyway system) the best mode of transportation.”

“This hotel is awesome. It makes you feel rich. The beds are so comfy and cushy. The room was so clean very inviting. High end everything. I also enjoyed the bath and body works soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. I would come here again in a heart beat.”

“Downtown location very convenient to Nicollet Mall and block E. Friendly staff, beautiful room. No pool, which was a bit disappointing, but we probably would not have had time to go in it anyway. Didn't try any of the restaurants or bars.”

• We had a great room! It was large with views of the city in two directions.
• Access from the parking ramp is very inconvenient. We've stayed there before and still found it confusing.

“The Minneapolis Marriot is a beautiful hotel. We were very happy to be put in a lovely, large room with great city views in two directions. Top notch for cleanliness, comfort and service. The hotel is very convenient to shopping and downtown restaurants. The only down side is the inconvenient ramp parking. Valet parking is an option, however.”

• Very attractive, great beds and pillows, friendly staff.
• No mini bar.

“This hotel has small but attractive rooms, great beds and pillows. I usually bring my own pillow because hotel pillows are too firm, but I didn't need mine! Internet access charge is high but there is free use of computers in the lobby and a computer dedicated to printing out your boarding pass. Great gym also. Was in Minneapolis to see family so didn't use other amenities, but the price was so good it made it worth staying Downtown!”

• A lot of white trash - like the caddies from Caddy Shack.

“The Marriot Bloomington is a standard hotel with the amenities that one would expect at a business-level accommodation. There is nothing that stands out as superb and nothing that stands out as inadequate. There appears to be an allowance of non-standard guests frequenting the pool area after 9 pm, most likely the staff and their friends and family. The hotel should put a stop to that if they do not wish to see their star rating fall below that of a 2, relegating them to the ranks of a Super 8 or Motel 6.”

• Bath & Bodyworks products had terrible, strong scent.

“Check-in was smooth. We requested & were given a room with 2 double beds. The room was adequate size with a great view, great windows, and a nice size closet. Beds were very clean and comfortable with 4 pillows and a feather top mattress. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location is very convenient to Nicollet shopping and Downtown activities.”

• The staff was exceptionally friendly.

“The location and staff were great! Lots of entertainment, food, and shopping within walking distance. The staff treated us like we were the only guests at the hotel; the concierge was eager to help with cabs, events, and dinner reservations. Staff also accommodated our request for a king room and we were given a large suite! Excellent customer service and we'll definitely return.”

• Non-smoking, comfy bed, staff helpful & kind.
• Our room didn't have a tub, also no pool.

“We stayed for our 35th anniversary. It was very comfortable for the price. The room service breakfast was great! Loved the Bath & Body works products in bathroom. We enjoyed being close to shopping, restaurants and the movie theater. We would have liked to have a fridge in the room.”

• Rooms were very nicely decorated and comfortable.
• The walk to the parking garage was rather long

“Wish I had taken my bags in the front entrance while my husband parked our car as the hike from the parking garage to the hotel is a fairly long one (I think it took us 5-10 minutes to get from our car to our room). Aside from that, the hotel was very nice. Everything was very clean and although our only encounters with staff were at check-in and once when room service was delivered, both were pleasant. The bedding is luxurious and the furnishings and decor are beautiful.”
