• Food at restaurant mediocre. No pool.

“Nice hotel, little spendy. Friendly staff, the comfort of the beds could of been better. Was a hassle to go to the lobby when you wanted wireless internet, didn't like the extra fee you had to pay for internet in your room.”

• Proximity to Downtown attractions.
• Elevators were slow or out of order.

“This hotel had very comfortable rooms, but they were at times hard to access as the hotel only had 3 elevators and two seemed to be out of order or running very slowly. This was a great place to stay to be close to all the Downtown attractions in Minneapolis. Definitely in walking distance of many restaurants and theaters. I would stay here again!”

• They do not have a business center and charge for internet.

“The restaurant was understaffed and the staff were rude and told us we needed to pay because our room was set up for cash. I gave them a cc at check in!!”

• Everything. Location was hard to get to. Staff rude.

“Very poor. Parking was horrible. They had a parking ramp that was full but they still charged me $15 to park in it. Staff was rude. Hotel was dirty.”

• It was a suite with great coffee.
• There was a dirty wash cloth in shower and room was older!

“Fine location and nice front desk guy. Parking was not free and our car topper almost hit the ceiling in the parking ramp! Beds were comfortable and OK for one night.”

• Prior to my arrival, hotel staff would not guarantee me a non-smoking room with two beds.

• The bed was very comfortable and the hotel location was excellent.
• The whirlpool tub was quite gross. It obviously had not been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time.

“Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel. The location was excellent and the room was spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative was the whirlpool.”

“This was a very clean hotel in a great location. The parking garage was very well lit and extremely convenient, which is so important in a Downtown location. The room was nice size and the beds were comfortable. An excellent hotel for the price!”

• We got an amazing room in a hotel right in downtown Minneapolis for a fraction of the actual cost.
• There is not much parking.

“Located in the middle of downtown Minneapolis, it has immediate access to the Nicollet Mall high-end shopping area, restaurants, clubs, business centers, and sporting arenas. The room we stayed in was a suite that included a separate living room, two TV's, large "mini" fridge, microwave, and individual Wolfgang Puck espresso maker. The staff was very courteous and it was a great experience overall.”

• Modern, comfortable, clean, had everything we needed in the room, great location, free yummy cookies!
• No free parking :-(, free wireless internet in rooms would be nice too.

“We LOVED staying at the Doubletree in downtown Minneapolis. You can't beat the location ~ we were within walking distance of many fun things. The hotel did a great job with their renovations. We enjoyed the granite countertops, comfortable bedding, and modern decor. The staff was helpful and we weren't bugged once by housekeeping when we had our "do not disturb" sign on our door each morning. We just couldn't have asked for much more!”

• Did not have a pool and we thought we listed that as a criteria.

“We did have a few issues with items not working in room coffeemaker, microwave, remote for TV), but after it was mentioned to hotel staff they were quick to replace remote and compensate for parking and offer free Starbucks coffee for our inconvenience.”

• It was a nice lobby and you get fresh cookies when you check in to the hotel.
• Our room was very old and worn. The room set up was very odd.

“We stayed at this hotel when we were in town to go to a Vikings game. It was a short taxi drive to the stadium which ran us around $10. The room was old and the shower wasn't the cleanest. The room did have small fridge and microwave but they charged for the bottled water they left in the room. Overall it was fine for a quick stay in the cities. It certainly is not a romantic get away. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend. The parking was horrible. We had to park at a ramp a block away. This wasn't the greatest since we stayed here in mid December.”

• The staff was extremely friendly which really sets the tone for me!
• In the description maybe letting people know it costs 14.00 to park. Though I understand why.

“I was very impressed with the facilities. I was a little nervous at first at what it would be like but checking in and having such friendly staff and warm cookies given to me made me relax right away. I would stay there again for sure!”

“I thought I was just getting a regular room. Actually got a suite for the price of a regular room. A big plus is the parking. You charged per room not per car (if you have a couple other people staying with you at the hotel like I did, they can get in/out of the parking ramp and it doesn't cost them for each car or each time they come and go). This was the nicest hotel stays Ive had and will definitely stay here again!”

• Hallways were extremely warm although there was a snow storm that night.

“Great place to stay! The beds were very comfortable compared to most places I've stayed. The staff was very nice and gave me two warmed chocolate chip cookies upon arrival.”

• Attached parking upon check in unavailable, which has been an issue in past stays, as well.

• The beds were really comfortable. Down feather beds, comforters and pillows.
• Needs some major updating with regard to colors and decor.

“This hotel had spacious rooms, and very comfortable beds! The bath room toiletries were Neutrogena brand, which is nice for this level of a hotel. The location was great, just down the block from Brit's pub and made downtown Minneapolis accessible on foot.”

• I liked the set up of the room, having a living room and a separate bedroom was nice.
• There is nothing that I disliked.

“I thought this hotel was in a great location if you want to experience downtown Minneapolis. We were able to walk to most of the places we visited. The staff was very helpful with giving directions. The room was very clean. I was overall very impressed with this hotel and the price I paid.”

• The rooms are spacious and have a micro-wave and mini fridge.
• No bell captain.

“Pleasant hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The two-room suite is a definite plus. The front desk clerk was very warm and personable and even gave us an extra cookie when we asked to purchase one. It looked to me as though the room had been refurbished since the last time we had stayed there. Very nice experience.”

“I would recommend this for any adult or group of adults looking for a place to stay. The location is great and the rooms were very nice. The only down side would be not having a pool or a hot tub available. When traveling with a family with children that would be something that this would be missing.”

• Had to pay $15 for parking but was not guaranteed a space.

“The location was nice for the downtown Minneapolis area. Same block as Nicollet mall. This hotel is probably due for a remodel as it was dated a bit and was in less than perfect condition. Parking on a Saturday night is impossible in that area and even thou you pay $15/night for parking you are not guaranteed a space in the hotel ramp. Over heard the guy at the front desk that they would have better luck in the suburbs when they were complaining about no parking space.”

“Good location. We didn't eat there, but they did give you a booklet showing close restaurants that you could order from or go to. Also, said they would make reservations for us if needed. We got a nice warm cookie upon checking in which was nice and have never had before. The only thing it was lacking was a pool, and then it would have been perfect!”

• Extremely convenient location to Nicollet Mall (pedestrian mall with restaurants and shops) in downtown area.
• Room was listed as non-smoking. Clearly there had been smoking in the room that they had tried to cover up with air freshener. The room did reek.

“Simple clean with comfortable beds and helpful staff. I got cookies at check in. I avoided the $15 garage fee by street parking. Though the room was labeled as non-smoking, it was clear people had been smoking in it and the staff had tried to cover up the scent with Fabreze and air freshener. The location is quite good, next door to Nicollet Mall and a short walk from the light rail.”

• The beds were plush and comfortable. I liked the fact that it had a sitting room with a sofa so the kids could watch their own shows.
• They should indicate upfront that you will also be charged $15 parking fee.

“Dad took the hit on this one. A long day driving, it's 94 degrees and there's no pool. Good price didn't matter without the pool for a family trip. For example, you don't get a three star without a pool. Or maybe you could filter the ratings for business or leisure? This property is an easy 3-star for business, but a poor 2-star for leisure. No breakfast either; that's poor for both business and leisure. The $15/day for parking in the big city. I forgot about that bite when I expanded the search to include downtown.”
