• Convenient.
• It didn't seem like a 4 star hotel.

“It was a comfortable stay and clean room, but did not meet my expectations for a 4 star hotel. I did not like paying for parking. I was there for a night off from my small children and was hoping to get a good night sleep. I was awakened by a hotel staff member trying to get into my room, as he was thinking it was vacant.”

“If you choose to extend your stay make sure they know you are staying any extra days. It took four trips back to the front desk until someone realized my key didn't work because they didn't know I had extended my stay.”

• Service was fantastic - by the receptionist, concierge, wait people, valets, etc!
• Location from the office was unexpectedly further than desired/expected.

“The service is impeccable. The location at the end of Nicollet Mall is ideal for the shopper and non-shopper as there are a variety of restaurants conveniently located within walking distance. Shops are endless and the spring/summer time is ideal for the walker.”

• Cleanliness, nice lobby, very nice bell man and porters.
• Expensive parking had to pay for wireless internet, Very expensive restaurants.

• Great location, clean, very friendly staff, a wonderful experience.
• Didn't have a small refrigerator in room.

“We had a wonderful experience at the Hyatt in Minneapolis. The staff was very friendly and helpful (the concierge gave me a charger cable when my cell got dead in the middle of a conversation while in the lobby; the receptionist gave us another room when we showed concern that our neighbors were noisy). The room was spacious, clean, the beds were very comfortable. It is well located right on the main street, Nicollet Mall, and has a beautiful park behind it.”

• Location and staff although staff didn't go out of their way they were very nice.
• Prices for valet parking and other extras that were necessary for the stay.

• Everything that would make this a 4 star, costs extra.

“The Hyatt name offers commanding expectations, but if every component of its hospitality is charged for, what are they really offering? The restaurants were really pricey. We paid as much for brunch.”

• Clean, spacious, parking was not expensive. They even gave an additional bed free for kid.
• The restaurants Manny and Oceanaire don't have any choice for vegetarians.

“Hotel was great for the price. Clean, spacious and they gave a free rollover bed for free. Parking was not expensive. The staff was great. One big issue for vegetarians is that there was not one item in the menu. We went for a dinner and ended up having some sides and fried potatoes in Oceanaire. Manny's is same, not one item. Wondering the weigh watching etc., has not caught up with them yet, despite having so many awards.”

• The room was very nice and cozy.
• My room was right off the pool area, the morning was extremely loud and disturbing.

“This was a very nice hotel. Enjoyed most of my short stay. I would like to have gotten a little more rest. I didn't check in until very late due to attending a funeral. However, my room was located looking out at the pool, so the next morning was extremely loud.”

• Price of parking was outrageous, with an additional fee to us the fitness center that they raved about, plus a fee to get on the wireless internet.

• The location is great, but they do not have shuttle service.
• There is a charge for everything, parking, internet.

“The location is good but not everything is with in walking distance and they do not have shuttle services, there is a per day charge for parking. The parking garage is connected to the hotel building but it is still quite a walk back to the front desk and rooms. They offer internet access in the rooms for a charge or free in the business center, which you may have to wait for an available computer but there are spots to plug in your laptop. Most hotels just outside of the city offer Shuttle service and wireless Internet access in the rooms free of charge. The room we had looked great and the staff was very friendly.”

“Overall a great stay, clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Our only complaint is with the parking charges and WiFi charges. This is the only hotel I've ever been to charge a daily WiFi connection fee.”

• The location was good.
• Poorly kept up. Ran out of rooms and stuck me in a conference room.

“Though billed as a 4-star, this hotel has neither the amenities, service or upkeep to be classed as such. It is a 2.5 - 3-star, tops. And truly, just for the business traveler. The carpets are dirty and worn, pool is disgusting and they really try to charge you for every little extra. They charge $4 for a can of soda in the lobby kiosk, $11 for use of the gym. Furthermore they ran out of rooms and stuck us on roller beds in a conference room the first night.”

• Very close to many restaurants, bars, and attractions.
• The walls are very thin, we heard our neighbors a few times during the night.

“I like staying at this hotel for our Stay-cations. It is right downtown Minneapolis, close to our favorite restaurants and bars, and great after seeing a play at the State theater. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have stayed in, and the rooms are quite nice, with many great upgrades. Staff is nice, and the pool is a nice touch.”

• Very hard to get to due to road construction-expensive to park car.

“The hotel was very nice and we were able to walk to lots of shops and restaurants. However, it was very difficult to get to due to road construction. It cost $17 per day to park our car and $11 per day to use the health club.”

• The room was small and had no refrigerator.

“The room was tastefully appointed, the bed was very comfortable. However, for a 4-star hotel, I'm a bit disappointed. The room was too small and lacked common features such as a refrigerator. The staff offered to bring a refrigerator for an extra twenty dollars, but I find this a bit ridiculous.”

• I liked the location to where I needed to be for the weekend and in relation to Nicollet Mall.
• Long walk from parking garage to hotel elevators. No ramps in lobby for luggage, must carry up/down stairs.

“The hotel was nice. The rooms were of good size and clean, and the bathroom area was great. However, the lighting was very poor in the bathroom/sink area. Hotel is in a great location for enjoying all the amenities of Nicollet Mall.”

• Nice room, nice bed, great location.
• Expensive parking, dim room lighting.

“The hotel is right downtown, close to the Nicolet Mall, shops and restaurants. Room was very clean. Nice layout. The only downside is expensive parking, dim lighting in the guest room and they only have two computers in the business centre, so if you don't bring a laptop. Expect a long wait, to check email, or get online. Overall - I'd stay here again.”

“Here's a really short review: Why does every 4 star hotel feel that they need to charge for wireless services, when supposedly lesser hotels provide this service free. Often at 1/3 the average room rate.”

• The windows had fingerprint smudges all over.

“I frequently stay at the Hyatt Downtown Minneapolis because the location is convenient. Being located on Nicollet Mall means that it's walking distance to downtown attractions. The Hyatt staff is always courteous. The rooms have been updated with clean carpet, comfy beds, granite tile in the bath area. The cleaning staff did miss the windows, which had fingerprint smudges all over. I wish there had been more free TV channels available; I estimate there were five free TV channels and the rest was programming for a fee. I would like late night dining to be available - other than Spike's restaurant, which is a sports bar and not someplace to go when you are dressed up for the night.”

• The country inn suites were practical.

• The bed.
• Overall cold feeling. The pool terrible and no hot tub.

“The best thing was the comfortable bed. The air conditioning in the room is poor, the pool is boring and to warm. And there is no hot tub. Nice athletic centre though.”

“Great hotel except for extra parking fees seem high for the area. Hotel should look at getting fitted sheets for the bed or straps to hold bottom sheet on. Bed is comfortable, but if you move around, the sheets and mattress pad gets all crumpled up. Don't like extra fee for use of steam room and hot tub either.”

• What an excellent location! Nicollet Mall is a terrific way to experience Minneapolis!

“Located on the south end of Nicollet Mall, the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency offers easy access to some of the city's best attractions. Peavey Plaza and Orchestra Hall, The Dakota Jazz Bar and Grill and the IDS Building come to mind. The hotel itself is impeccably maintained and professionally managed with a friendly and attentive staff. Parking is reasonable at $17 a day.”

“I probably forgot to read the fine print, but $17 a day for parking is ridiculous. The room was clean; view yuk, bed huge and comfortable with 6 pillows, great full pressure shower, maids left us alone to sleep in, and great front desk personnel.”

“We were actually quite pleased to win the Hyatt since we were planning dinner at Manny's Steakhouse attached thereto. I knew the rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable. We won this hotel a few years ago when it was rated 3 star. Its nicer than other 3 star hotels in downtown Minneapolis. They wanted $10 a day for wireless internet access.”

“Great view and room service. Also, comfortable beds and pillows. I would have like to have fresh water available for free, but they would have charged me too much for it. I did not really like the bathroom/sink set-up either. I would not stay here again.”
