• Pretty nice room, great location downtown.
• Not welcoming or hospitable.

“Room was clean, but way too hot since there is no way to open a window or turn down the heat. I encountered rude staff at check-in and out and couldn't find a staff member when I needed one late at night. A housekeeping woman woke us up knocking on the door at 9:30 in the morning asking, "When you go? Then she asked us "when would we go". Again a little later when we went to vending machine. I was told check-out was noon, so was very disappointed in being pressured to leave before that. Not a 4 star hotel at all. Parking was also way too expensive.”

• The lobby is very nice and it's a good downtown location.
• Everything else.

“We were extremely disappointed with our stay. There was no phone book in our room; the front desk did not answer our calls from our room for assistance. The front desk had someone at it only once out of three times going down there. The hotel elevators are key-card operated, but none of the cards in our party actually worked on them-leaving members of our party stranded in the lobby and unable to get back up to the room until someone came along with a working card. When we went to the front desk for help with this problem, the Hyatt representative was extremely rude, saying she would only help the individual whose name was registered to the room (which in our case was our boss). So the problem never was solved and we spent the rest of the night in the room since we were unable to operate the elevators. When we woke up in the morning, there was standing water in the bathroom due to leaky pipes behind the toilet. This was by far the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying at.”

• I liked everything!

“This is a great hotel close to downtown and the Nicollet Mall, a pedestrian mall with lots of good restaurants and shops. Our room had a bit of a view; was sparkling clean and in room coffee and tea. The hotel coffee shop was good although expensive. The pool was small but sparking clean and helpful staff with plenty of towels. We had a great time and would love to stay there again.”

“Lovely convention-style, big box hotel. Good workspace for business trips, centrally located for tourism. Not a wow, I'm not telling my friends they must stay at this hotel, but I was pleased with the experience and particularly the staff.”

• Fitness center costs $11 to use, which includes the hot tub. No free paper.

• The room was very nice.
• The parking was horrid and access from the parking was worse.

“The parking lot is a with public ramp, with no help from the hotel. I think the hotel should have an agreement with the parking ramp to reduce that cost. I would never stay there again.”

• Kind of expected a flat screen for a 4 star hotel.

“Overall, great experience. Had a wonderful view too. The shower curtain didn't block all the water, so after 4 people showering, you ended up with a lot of water on the floor. Also, could've used another mirror with decent lighting.”

• I enjoyed the clean room and courteous staff.
• I was upset that FSN was not available to watch the game that I wanted to watch.

“My husband and I stayed there just to get away for a night. This was right before the RNC and the hotel was very busy with delegates. The front desk staff was very courteous. I wish internet would have been available for a more reasonable price.”

• A room.
• Bad view.

“The motel was ok but when you parked in the parking garage it didn't match up with the motel so if you parked on the 7th floor in the garage you had to go back down to the first floor to get to the garage and the walk a long was to get to a motel elevator which just made things confusing. The other thing I didn't like was the view from the room all I saw from my widow was a roof.”

“Had a room on the 6th floor and all we could see was the roof of the building next to the hotel and a parking garage. The mattress had a nasty stain on it and the bathroom smelled like mold.”

• The pool wasn't very big and the pool hours were too short.

• Perfect location in downtown; friendly staff, large room, great bed, room showed well; very pleased with our stay.
• Parking ramp to hotel had 2 sets of stairs to carry luggage and bike up and down; no ramp or elevator.

“Third time at the Hyatt. Always happy to go back. Easy walking to great restaurants and shopping and event locations. The downtown is interesting with outdoor art installations old and new architecture. The hotel and rooms are excellent -- no complaints, only praise.”

• The exercise facility requires an extra fee. Moreover the free equipment wasn't working.

“Very nice hotel, great staff (we had vehicle troubles and the staff went out of their way to help), very well kept, nice rooms, close to restaurants. Only caution, the beautiful, well equipped exercise room is fee based and costly.”

• Price of parking and fee to use gym.

“The Hyatt at Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis is in a great location and close to many good restaurants and shopping. The hotel is very clean and the staff was very nice. Our room was clean but seemed to be on the smaller side. The shower was dated by the looks of the fixture. The most disappointing aspects of our stay had to pay $17 a day for parking and an $11 daily fee to use the gym. I would not rate this as a 4 star hotel but rather a high 3 star.”

“The hotel had wonderful public spaces and friendly concierge, car parkers, waiters in sports bar. The king room was fine, great bed but thought the space was a little small. Drinks in the sports bar were expensive!”

“They hassled us at night, came to our room twenty minutes after we got there and accused us of partying all night. There were three guys waiting for pizza, no music, no beers, just talking, expensive to park and go to the health club, which was great by the way! Really nice rooms, really nice hotel.”

• Located in a good part of town, nice a spacious room, staff was very nice and helpful.
• Parking was very expensive, very long walk with luggage from parking garage to room elevators.

“The rooms were very nice with comfortable beds. Bathroom area was great and all 4 of us girls were able to get ready without getting in each others way! Parking was way to expensive $32 for 2 nights and we didn't even arrive until after midnight on the first night! The walk from the parking garage to the elevators to get to the room was way too long with our entire luggage, they need to have easier access from the garage.”

• The room was attractive and the staff was very courteous and helpful.
• The signage to direct us from the parking ramp into the hotel and to our room was poor.

“We met our kids and grandkids here for a fun weekend and to attend a Twins baseball game. We all enjoyed the weekend and found the hotel very comfortable and attractive. The pool area is not the best, but the grandchildren still enjoyed the area.”

• The young lady at the front desk was so gracious and treated us very well, giving us a room with a wonderful view of downtown Minneapolis.
• We goofed and didn't realize the pool closed at 9 pm. The manager was outrageously rude and condescending.

“The Hyatt Regency is an upscale hotel located in downtown Minneapolis. It's a huge convention hotel, lots of rooms. It was a good experience to stay here, but I wouldn't recommend this place to families.”

• 17 to 25 dollars per day to park.

“Hotel is excellent as is the service form the staff, we have stayed here before and had the same experience. Keep in mind the additional fee for parking when staying here but this is very common for hotels in this area.”

• The room was not what I would call a 4 star more like a 3 star.

“The location of the hotel was the best part, in its downtown location it is close to everything. The staff was also helpful. You have to pay for parking, and the bottle water in the room is $2.75 each. The room was not anything special, I felt it was more of a 3 star. The hallways smelled bad and had stained floors. Overall a ok hotel if your not planning on spending a lot of time in your room.”

“The hotel was nice overall. I was extremely disappointed with the fact that I had asked a room with a king size bed but there were no rooms available to be checked into. And after giving them the amount of time they asked for before coming back to check in, they had no king size bed rooms available. They were already all given away. Very disappointing and upsetting to me and my wife who do not stay in hotels like this very often at all.”

“It was a comfortable stay and clean room, but did not meet my expectations for a 4 star hotel. I did not like paying for parking. I was there for a night off from my small children and was hoping to get a good night sleep. I was awakened by a hotel staff member trying to get into my room, as he was thinking it was vacant.”

• Service was fantastic - by the receptionist, concierge, wait people, valets, etc!
• Location from the office was unexpectedly further than desired/expected.

“The service is impeccable. The location at the end of Nicollet Mall is ideal for the shopper and non-shopper as there are a variety of restaurants conveniently located within walking distance. Shops are endless and the spring/summer time is ideal for the walker.”

“We had a wonderful experience at the Hyatt in Minneapolis. The staff was very friendly and helpful (the concierge gave me a charger cable when my cell got dead in the middle of a conversation while in the lobby; the receptionist gave us another room when we showed concern that our neighbors were noisy). The room was spacious, clean, the beds were very comfortable. It is well located right on the main street, Nicollet Mall, and has a beautiful park behind it.”
