• Conveniently located.

• They changed my room from smoking to non without a complaint.
• The bed was the hardest thing known to human kind!

“This hotel filled our needs but the bed was like laying on a springy piece of plywood. They were clean rooms but I had to lift the door up and pull to get the locking mechanism to match up with the hole in the wall. It was nice having the fridge as we were loaded with food for a party and needed to keep it cool. Over all I would give it a 1.5 stars but at the price I didn't expect too much more.”

“This hotel has potential but it had a bad odor to it and the rooms needed updated. Holes in walls in bathroom, Shower was stained and dirty looking floor had dirt in corners. Bed sheets were not soft but scratchy and felt like you did not have a sheet but were on the bed cover.”

“Rooms are small, but the beds are comfy. This hotel shares a parking lot with a bar/grill so there's lots of car traffic at night. The breakfast area was pleasant - lots of tables and adequate food.”

• I liked the colors and the friendly people.
• The sink had a big crack in it.

“This hotel was very easy to find and the staff was friendly and helpful. We checked in late and were meet with a smile and a fast check in, and the next morning we left with a smile and well wishes.”

• The room was quiet, comfortable.
• Breakfast area was quite dirty.

“The motel provided a quiet, relatively comfortable room. The location was excellent and easily accessible from i-35. However, the lobby and breakfast areas were much dirtier than I am accustomed to.”

“It was great for my needs on this trip. If I had children with me, I would have gone somewhere with an indoor pool. This was perfect for why I was there!”

• The hotel was in a convenient, easy to get to place right off of 35W.
• The hotel sign was half broke, the carpets were worn and stained, the room stunk, and the Days Inn in Ankeny was not same quality as in Minneapolis.

“The hotel was not as classy or clean or up to the appearances as that of other Days Inn hotels. The hotel sign was half broke, the carpet inside the hotel was worn looking and stained. The room smelled, and the impression of the hotel was poor. I would not recommend this hotel as a nice place to stay.”

• Dirty, Smelly, Disgusting bathrooms, carpet not vacuumed, this can't possibly be a 2 star hotel.

“I don't know what a one star hotel looks like, but this hotel can't possibly be a 2 star. It was dirty, smelly, and we couldn't wait to get out of there. The bathroom was falling apart the tub had holes in it. The Days Inn chain should be ashamed of this place.”

• Wash basin was not in the bathroom.

“Have to sleep sitting in a chair at night. Chair was very uncomfortable and towards morning, I fell thru the chair ending up on the floor. The chair had broken while I was sleeping in it. As my wife was getting dressed in the morning, I had left at 5:30 a.m. to go to Church in Des Moines, some one put a card key into the lock and walked into the room without knocking. He apologized and left. He did not identify himself nor did he have any cleaning products in his hands. The second day, as I finished showering and was drying off, I noticed a cockroach running up the side of the wall by the toilet. Reported all of this to the Manager who was as helpful as he could be. He gave me one night free lodging for my troubles. I will not stay in any motels in the future that do not have the wash basin in the bathroom and the toilets must have adult seats on them and not little round children seats.”

• We liked the convenient location, close to our family.
• We had one day when our room was not cleaned.

“The Days Inn in Ankeny is an older motel, yet the rooms were very spacious and clean. There was plenty of hot water for showering in the morning. And the continental breakfast was an added plus. We also found the management team to be very accommodating.”

• Booked me for 1 queen size bed.

“I was disappointed to find my son and I were going to have to share a queen size bed when I was told there were no vacancies by a man that barely spoke English. The next day I was relieved, when I called back and had a talk with another desk clerk to find they had 1 available. The stay was very nice, ended up with 2 full beds. The night clerk was very helpful.”

• Needs updated carpet, furniture, bedding.

“Although motel was centrally located, it definitely needs some overall updating. Carpet was dirty in rooms and halls especially halls, bedspreads were old. I must say the bathrooms were the cleanest but shower heads needed to be replaced also.”

• Room was spacious and comfortable.
• Room was non-smoking, but it had smoky odor.

“Generally a decent hotel property for a two star rating. Rooms were comfortable with plenty of space and bed was conducive to sleep. The wireless internet connection worked very well and was much appreciated. The water, however, was only hot even when turning to the cold indicator in both the sink faucet and the shower. The continental breaskfast was lousy. The donuts were stale, the milk was warm and the cereal choices very limited. There were very few choices of food compared to other "free" hotel breakfasts I have had. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but the smoky odor was quite prevelent.”

• I had forgotten that you billed my card, he called and gave us our money back.
• The shower pressure was BAD, the room was dirty - walls, etc.- they need to replace light bulbs in lights.

“The walls were dirty. The shower pressure had NONE, the shower curtain smelled of mildew, there was burned out light bulbs in the lamps or they weren't plugged in. ”

“Good area, clean room, good kitchen with everything from pots to bowls. But, there was some smoking smell in our room.”
