• The decor was bright and uplifting.
• The shower drain was very, very slow.

“It is bright, colorful, and comfortable. The front desk staff was a little young and the woman who checked us in seemed annoyed when I asked her questions such as how to find our room, when is breakfast, etc. The bed was comfortable but the air conditioning blew right into the bed, which made it too cold.”

• It was very clean, the staff was very accommodating.

“It was definitely one of the nicer hotels in the area. I enjoyed the fact that the staff was very nice, and friendly. They checked on me after check-in to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. The bathrooms and the room itself was very clean, that is very important to me. They also had a complimentary breakfast, which saved me a lot of time in the morning. Also they had free internet connection, which was great, as I was on a business trip, and that came in very handy. Overall it was a great stay!”

• Sign on road should be larger, I drove right by. Hotel was going through some exterior repairs probably storm damage. Didn't look too good.

• Very nice Continental Breakfast.
• Remodeling created quite a mess that, unfortunately, tracked into the hotel.

“We found the rooms to be neat and clean with a spacious bathroom. The location was perfect for our needs and the complimentary breakfast was a valuable add-on. We arrived early and had a little trouble tracking down front desk personnel to help us, but once we found the right people, they were very helpful. In addition, the housekeeping staff was friendly and courteous. Lots of smiles! We would go back.”

“This hotel is located within no more the 15 min. to all major attractions and bus. Districts in the Des Moines metro area. Very pleasant staff and very clean facility.”

• The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean. The pool was nice.
• The toilet ran and we had to have it fixed.

“The Fairfield Inn is great! The rooms are nice and the lounge and eating areas are very attractive and relaxing. We also enjoyed the breakfast, with all the food choices!”

• The elevator was slow.

• Great room! King suite was perfect.
• Pool was small.

“The hotel was great. It was clean, and the staff was very friendly! Our beds were very comfy and had lots of pillows. Our suite had two TVs and a sofa bed in a separate room. The bathroom was huge and clean. The hotel pool was nice and clean as well.”

• The service was excellent. They were friendly, helpful, and prompt.
• The refrigerator didn't work in one room, the Jacuzzi didn't work, and the water pipes banged a lot.

“Great hotel for the money. The service is excellent and the hotel is neat and tidy. The pool is small and some of the appliances need fixed (i.e. Jacuzzi and refrigerator) but other than that I was quite satisfied.”

• Our heater made awful noises all night but I did report it in the morning and they were going to have an engineer look at it.

• The smell of Lysol in the entrance and throughout.

“Fairfield has been our choice on many occasions; however, the Ankeny Fairfield was quite disappointment and was priced higher than most others. I have always been happy with it and their hotels, but you were off on this one.”

• The breakfast area was very spacious and I loved making my own waffle! It was delicious!
• The swimming pool was extremely small and there was a family with two very small children in it late at night.

“The hotel is very pleasant and clean. The lobby and breakfast area are spacious. The staff is very nice and helpful. The entire building is smoke-free which we loved! It was very fresh and clean. The decor is very nice, too.”

“The lady that checked us in was very accomodating. When we requested a room with two beds, they didn't have one, so she put us in to a suite with a hide-a-bed. We had a vey nice stay.”

• Perfectly located off the I-35 exit, well lit parking, attractively furnished, above average breakfast offerings.
• Iron in room had burned-on material. Got replacement

“Fairfield Inn Ankeny is directly off of I-35 & easy to find. This motel is attractively furnished, offers a better-than-average breakfast and has a well-lit parking area. In my situation, my vehicle would not start in the morning. Hotel staff called a taxi to get me to my conference on time, then cooperated with AAA in getting my vehicle towed to an auto dealer for service.”
