• Location, pool & hot tub were very clean. Very nice breakfast.
• We were given a room directly across from a reception room when there were many other vacant rooms available. Very thin walls.

“Overall, we were pleased with the hotel. The hot breakfast was a nice change. The pool and hot tub were very clean with a bathroom and fresh towels for the swimmers. The breakfast area and sitting area were very comfortable.”

• Very close to the university and the continental breakfast was AWESOME!
  
• The local guide in the room did not make it easy to find local restaurants that were nearby.

• Breakfast area was sticky toward end of serving hours.

“Nice large rooms. Was pleasantly surprised by whirlpool tub in King 1 room suite. Comfortable pillows and bedding. Great place for the money.”

• Clean, spacious and well decorated room.
• No wireless internet access.

“Hotel was easily accessible just off highway 30. Very close to Lowa State University. Check in process was very fast. Room was very clean and well decorated. Had two extra tables along with a mini-fridge and the usual room amenities. Check out time was 12-noon, which was nice.”

“The Best Western in Ames, IA is a newer hotel designed from those that are not looking for any frills in their travel. It offers the basics like Internet that works (not a globalsuite.net hotel), swimming pool with hot tub and free breakfast.”

• Pool good for young kids.
• When moved bed close to wall there was crumbs under bed.

“It met my needs for taking my 2 young kids. They enjoyed the pool because it was not too deep for them. Room was nice. Exercise room looked nice. Good continental breakfast.”

• The staff was very helpful. The room was asked as a king bed and they cheerfully changed it to two queens.
• The pool was very small.

“We were very pleased with the room and the hotel lobby. It exceeded our expectations. The staff was very helpful. The continental breakfast had several hot breakfast items which was more than we expected. We would definitely stay there again.”

• The location to ISU Campus was very good.
• During the breakfast, the tables were not cleaned well.

“The staff was helpful upon check in by finding a non-smoking room. The rooms are well equipped for using the internet, however I would prefer a wireless option. The breakfast option was good, but the tables need to be cleaned more often.”

• Friendly service, very nice suite, mostly quiet, reasonably priced, clean and convenient.
• Fruit Loops under fold-out couch, dryer was out of order.

“This hotel was a pleasure. The service desk was very helpful since we didn't know the surrounding area very well. Neat clean spacious suite makes us look forward to staying here again. Would recommend with confidence.”

• Dogs barking all night/morning in the next room.

“I liked the hotel in general. It was nice, clean. But there were two large dogs barking all night in the next room that kept me, my husband and two young children up a good portion of the night. And the reason we stayed at the hotel was so we wouldn't have to travel with tired children after their long day at a dance recital. It was rather disappointing.”

• Very clean with modern furnishings and comfortable bed.
• Did not like the vanity/washstand outside of the bathroom.

“Newer hotel with very clean facilities, nice decor, comfortable beds. Only downside is vanity/washstand is outside of bathroom and as you first enters room. Nice indoor pool area. Continental breakfast was better than most hotels of similar quality.”

• The singles room with the king size bed was great.
• No microwave.

“This is probably one of the best Best Western hotels I have lodged in, and they are all good. The facility is hands down a notch up from the typical best western. I'll definitely lodge there again.”

• Lean, good room temperature, with comfortable bed, lounge chair, and desk for work.
• Bus load of people stayed same night and not adequate tables to sit for continental breakfast-had to stand.

“One night stay was pleasant. Room found to be bright and clean, with comfortable bed and lounge chair. Nice for business traveler to have the desk and chair. Continental breakfast included many selections. Would recommend to others.”

• The beds were very comfortable and the pool area was inviting and the pool was warm.
• The chair in the room was not very comfortable.

“Newer or renovated so very clean. The beds are extremely comfortable and shower is clean and roomy. The heat lamp in the shower was much appreciated. Pool area is large and heated nicely during winter.”

• A lot of nice extras for the money.
• Remote control was very directional.

“Decent continental breakfast. Nice that they had a hot tub. Convenience store right outside the lobby door was very reasonably priced. Business center was very nice for checking email. Fitness center was nice to have, even though we didn't use it.”

• Room decor attractive, sink outside bathroom, very good breakfast; lights on in room upon arrival; tub curtain arrangement.
• Put us in smoking room reserved non smoking was immediately remedied.

“We enjoyed our stay and pleasantly surprised. We noticed a nice veranda for good weather, didn't have time to take advantage of it. We liked that they allowed pets though we opted not to take ours after consideration.”

• Nothing.

“Every year I and my family go to the Black Frog for my sisters birthday. We're always satisfied. This isn't the place to go if you want the best food ever. But if you want to have a nice time and enjoy your self its the place to go. The people there are always nice and the service is pretty good. So yeah its a pretty great place to go if you ask me.”
