“Bought a muffin out of the vending machine and got so very sick. it was moldy or something and I had a terrible case of food poison and missed a days work.”

• Very convenient. Nice room. Clean.
• Very slow elevators. Train tracks nearby.

“Hotel is older from the outside, but rooms have been updated and are clean. Very nice on the inside. Pool area is nice, but not very large. Short distance from gaming boats, Sam's Town & El Dorado, but not within walking distance. Cabs are $5 one way. Train tracks are next to the hotel and the train comes through all night.”

• It was in close proximity to the freeway.
• The rooms stunk and the River view we were supposed to get overlooked railroad tracks. The trains ran all hours of the day, even the early morning.

“The hotel was in a good location, near the freeway. I had to change rooms because the room they gave stunk so bad. They were very courteous about letting me change, no questions asked. The room that we did end up staying in was allot smaller than the first room. It was supposed to have a River view, and did not. Also, their were trains running at all hours of the day that kept us up at night. And, our room stunk too, just not as bad as the first one. Plus, the bathroom was small.”

• Weight room and cleaning staff was great.
• No complimentary breakfast for the price and 4th floor needs to be rebuilt.

“Not ever going to stay in that hotel again. Hotel was in a great location being right on the river and 5 min drive from boardwalk but poor and almost depressing view. Room was not what I expected for the price, Ive stayed in rooms that cost 1/3 of that one and was twice the room. Entire 4th floor needs refurbishing.”

• Rooms where clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Pool was not working and the Train tracks where right next to our room and no parking.

• The location was great for where I needed to be the next morning.
• The rooms could be a little bit cleaner. Looked as though the carpets had not been vacuumed.

• The lobby was very pretty and clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.
• Our room was next to the elevator, could've been cleaner, a bit small for the price.

“With the price and the name Holiday Inn, I expected more. Our room was right beside the elevators, (really noisy) which wasn't working some of the time. One day the cleaning lady didn't even clean our room, and the room was on the small size for a king, the restroom was really small. The staff was very helpful and nice.”

• Everything else, noisy, inept sales staff, no manager available.

“Noisy, bad security, reserved as corporate group, meeting rooms set up wrong, reserved rooms not correct, no manager available. Train depot in back of hotel, interstate exit in front, loud partying in parking lot -- would never recommend this hotel.”

• The location is the only thing I liked.
• The hotel staff told me (in other words, of course) that I was lucky to even get a room.

“My experience here was horrible. I got here to find that they didn't have a room for me even though I already booked and paid for it. They then "pulled" a room that smelled disgusting and wasn't the room I paid for. When I called about this, she then told me that I was lucky to even have gotten a room and the reason I didn't have a room was because they let other people (who didn't have previous reservations) stay over.”

• Front desk personnel; dogs allowed; location.
• Maid staff didn't clean room.

“The room was not as clean as most Holiday Inns, especially the bathroom. But it was tolerable. The location was good. Our dog was welcome but the maid staff wouldn't come in to clean because we had a dog (in a kennel). To me that was no excuse, we had to go get our own towels from the front desk. For the price it was alright but we probably won't stay there again given a choice.”

• Did not really care for the room did not have a very clean feeling.

“This hotel was OK, the location was excellent. Close to the boardwalk and the casinos. It was over priced for the hotel but there are not many quality hotels in Shreveport unless you are willing to stay at a casino. It was OK but I would hope that I didn't get that hotel again for the money we paid. ”

• Elevator slow. Tub needed to be clean.

“This hotel was good for our stay. We went to the casinos and stayed at the hotel one night. The room service for breakfast was overpriced for the quality of food you received. The staff was kind and helpful.”

• The hotel was dirty and we had ants in our room on the 5th floor.

“The hotel is in a great location, but it so dirty I would not stay there again. Our room had in ants in it along with sunflower seeds on the floor. The elevators were so slow and need to be replaced. The room service was awful as well, we never received our coffee with our breakfast and had to go get it ourselves. We will never stay here again, the lobby was nice but the rooms were so out dated.”

“Hotel is conveniently located off of I-20. Close to the Sci-Port and Louisiana Boardwalk and other area attractions. I was disappointed with shoddy room repairs and stained mattresses even though the room was clean.”

• Lobby was beautiful.
• Room was disgusting with roaches crawling around and nasty dirty. Mold in shower.

“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This particular hotel room was as nasty as it could get. I thought maybe there was only the dead roach in the bathroom, but while sitting in bed noticed roaches crawling on wall and then looked closer at floor and there were more. The shower had mold on the edge. The floor was wet and the whole room smelled musty and nasty. I felt disgusting when I left and could not wait to get out of there.”

“I was surprised by the old outdated looking room. In the stairwell there were broken vacuums and other items right in the public viewing. I would have preferred that the hotel at least provide a continental breakfast instead of just having a restaurant where you buy your breakfast.”

“Nice hotel and friendly staff, in a most unfortunate location. They did move me from a room that was right next to the tracks to one further away, but the sound deadening of the rooms was still horrible considering the location. Due to noise, would not stay there again.”

• Nice room service and close to casinos and highways.
• Too much noise due to closeness of railroad tracks.

“Nice hotel with ambiance unexpected in north Louisiana. has very good room-service an it is well priced for what you get. All in all, a very good bargain for the area.”

• The staff is very well trained and helpful.
• Fire ants (which bit me 5 times) in the room. Peeling plaster on the walls.

• close to Downtown
• up front parking

“The hotel was located in Downtown so that was really nice. But in the elevators the floor tiles were coming up. When we went to eat breakfast all the empty tables were dirty and we couldnt get any wait staff. So, we didnt get to eat breakfast at all. There was no help. And the parking up front was packed and awkward!”

“The location is great, if you are going to the theatre or casinos, but the hotel room we had was old, small and in desparate need of redecorating. The worst part was that there were very busy train tracks right outside our windows. Even though we were on the 4th floor, it was extremely noisy. Also, there was only decaf coffee in the room. My husband ask for some with caffeine the next morning and was told there was none. They didn't bother to tell him he could get a cup of free coffee in the resturant and take it up to the room. ”
