• Clean, comfortable and well-equipped room.
• Parts of the hotel need updating.

“I had a great stay here. While the hotel is a few decades old and some interior halls and stairwells could use general updating, my room was very nice and roomy and clean. Very comfortable bed. Excellent heat and air. I felt I got exactly what I needed in a good quality motel room. I would definitely stay here again.”

• Clean room, quiet, good location, nice bar and pool.
• Elevator was
  slow, pillows too hard/big, not enough roll a beds.

“Room was clean, service was great. We forgot soap/shampoo and was quickly given as many as needed. Bar was convenient and kids loved the pool. Only complaint was that we needed a roll around bed for an extra person and they did not have any left.”

“It was what my wife and I expected - middle-of-the-road in ambiance and facilities. Exceeded our expectations in friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Good place for anyone needing a relatively inexpensive, average place to spend a night or two.”

  remodeled six months ago. Very nice, great bed.

“I understand that they were in the midst of Hurricane Gustav, but their service seemed unorganized. When I left the room for the day I had left a do not disturb sign on the door, but house cleaning still entered the room and all my things were taken down to the lobby at the front desk when I arrived back at the hotel. Not a good experience.”

• 1st room was not cleaned yet. Bill error, rude front desk.

“At check out I was charged pet fee in error and before I could be given credit I was delayed as clerk assisted another guest. I rate this as a, can be, good place but has poor employee communication. Refollow up (housekeeping), Needs friendly, knowledgably, employees to greet guest, more customer service. Restaurant food was acceptable again service was poor. I would not be interested in a room here again.”

• I did like the space provided in the rooms and the bathroom was clean and nice.
• The hotel has the really old smell to it. I did not like that at all.

“The hotel for the price was okay. I have stayed at nicer hotels. I guess the hotel was more expensive because the casinos are there. But the hotel needs a face lift. The front desk staff needs to be more helpful.”

“Clean and comfortable room. Desk staff was efficient and professional, but not especially friendly. Other hotels in the area in this price range offered a free breakfast. I don't understand why this hotel couldn't do that.”

• Expensive compared to other cities, older facade.

“This hotel looked like a run of the mill old Holiday Inn. When we opened the door to our room, were we surprised! It was completely updated and new. The bed was very comfortable. It was a quiet hotel. They are updating the lobby we were told. We would stay here again. Very friendly staff.”

“This was a very pleasant and comfortable hotel. Staff was helpful and friendly. The location was a little bit away from other hotels, but the mile or so farther was a plus to me because it was away from traffic noise and congestion. Decor was a bit tacky but remodeling is in the works for later this year.”

• The maintenance man was prompt, friendly, and very efficient.
• Security doors were left open throughout the night!

“Knowing the hotel is going through renovation, we expected the general construction issues. However, the TV, lamp, and refrigerator were not working. The maintenance man did come as soon as we reported the problems, but I suspect that in just cleaning the room, those service issues should have been addressed. Hotel was just unappealing and not as clean or attractive as others at their star level.”

• The staff was very helpful and the bed was wonderfully comfortable.
• The view wasn't so great from the window, but next to a freeway what can you expect.

“The staff was very accommodating, and even found us a room more updated than the one reserved for us. Big plus! The heating and air is outed though, it took most of the night to adjust the temperature. But the amenities in the room were nice. TV with cable and video game access, mini fridge, microwave, desk, two eatables, small closet space w/ iron & ironing board, and ample info on the accommodation provided in house and in the surrounding area. The bathroom was nice with a faux marble top sink/counter area on top of a cherry stained wood casing with supply shelving. All in all it was just what we were looking for a quick weekend recoup getaway.”

• The scenery around the hotel was nice.
• The construction and the staff.

“The front desk told us to go around to the back of the hotel we would find our room. He didn't offer us any other information about our location or our room. When we arrived at our destination at the back of the hotel, next to the dumpsters, we noticed that there was a massive construction site in our hallway. All of the workers were wearing masks and there was dust and dirt and chemicals from the exposed ceiling pipes in the air. I am five months pregnant and was very nervous about being in a location where there was going to be various chemicals in the air. We walked through the hallway, holding our breath, and had to step over broken glass, shards of metal, and pipes lying in the floor. The construction continued loudly for our entire stay. Even though the parking lot remained mostly empty for our stay, the hotel staff told us there were no rooms to move us to. We also discovered that we were the only guests on that floor who were not part of the construction crew working on that particular project. Our room wasn't much better. The refrigerator didn't work, the coffee maker was broken, there was rust on the door, wall, etc. It was mostly a dump. Upon checkout, I spoke to yet another hotel employee and told them that if we had at least been warned about the construction, it would have been easier to handle and she said, "Oh, yeah. Sorry." That was it. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again. It was such a horrible experience.”

• I was locked out of the room the second day and it took several visits to the lobby to have it resolved.

• I loved it all.

“This is a nice one .It has been newly remodeled and completely brought up to date. The bed and the linens were very cozy and the room was very quiet even though it was new years eve. Had a great night sleep. Also check out was not talon, that was a plus. We will for sure be back.”

• Room heaters dont work. Breakfast was over 9$ per head.

“The hotel was at a nice location and easy to find. Inside it was an old hotel with a very slow lift. The rooms are clean and beds appeared clean. We changed rooms since our room heater didn't work. But the other room also had the same issue. Pack your coats during winter!”

• Most attractions were about 10 11 miles away.

“I would stay at this hotel again, it was very clean. Cleanliness is very important to me and they did a very good job. It's actually a pretty fancy place. It's in a convenient spot for the most part, the boardwalk and restaurants are about 11 miles down the freeway but it's a simple drive. Very satisfied!”

• The rooms looked scary! The beds very uncomfortable, It felt like a motel room.

“Horrible beds! The down stairs area looked very nice, the staff was great, but once you got on the elevators, the nice was over! It felt like I was in a motel, not a 2 1/2 star hotel. The decor was bad. It really needs to be updated. Our room had water leak stains on the wall and dirty sheets on the bed. They were doing construction on part of the hotel and the noise woke us up before day break! I wish I would have known this before I reserved this hotel room. We hated it!”

“This hotel was old and dirty. Bugs in the room. They are under renovation but should have done these 20 years ago. I was very disappointed in the star level. Should be a 2 until the renovations are complete.”
