• The scenery around the hotel was nice.
• The construction and the staff.

“The front desk told us to go around to the back of the hotel we would find our room. He didn't offer us any other information about our location or our room. When we arrived at our destination at the back of the hotel, next to the dumpsters, we noticed that there was a massive construction site in our hallway. All of the workers were wearing masks and there was dust and dirt and chemicals from the exposed ceiling pipes in the air. I am five months pregnant and was very nervous about being in a location where there was going to be various chemicals in the air. We walked through the hallway, holding our breath, and had to step over broken glass, shards of metal, and pipes lying in the floor. The construction continued loudly for our entire stay. Even though the parking lot remained mostly empty for our stay, the hotel staff told us there were no rooms to move us to. We also discovered that we were the only guests on that floor who were not part of the construction crew working on that particular project. Our room wasn't much better. The refrigerator didn't work, the coffee maker was broken, there was rust on the door, wall, etc. It was mostly a dump. Upon checkout, I spoke to yet another hotel employee and told them that if we had at least been warned about the construction, it would have been easier to handle and she said, "Oh, yeah. Sorry." That was it. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again. It was such a horrible experience.”

• Renovation of hotel so it was kind of messy.

“They are in the process of renovating this hotel. The room I was in was really nice compared to the old rooms. The rest of the facility is kind of a mess. It will be very nice when they finish.”

• The room had been redone and was very nice.
• I was locked out of the room the second day and it took several visits to the lobby to have it resolved.

“The hotel is under renovations and when complete will be very lovely. The staff is not very friendly nor professional with the exception of a few. I love the location of the hotel but do not like the way problems are handled by management.”

• Everything was brand new, clean and modern.
• I loved it all.

“This is a nice one .It has been newly remodeled and completely brought up to date. The bed and the linens were very cozy and the room was very quiet even though it was new years eve. Had a great night sleep. Also check out was not talon, that was a plus. We will for sure be back.”

• Clean linens and nice rooms. .
• Room heaters dont work. Breakfast was over 9$ per head.

“The hotel was at a nice location and easy to find. Inside it was an old hotel with a very slow lift. The rooms are clean and beds appeared clean. We changed rooms since our room heater didn't work. But the other room also had the same issue. Pack your coats during winter!”

• Most attractions were about 10 11 miles away.

“I would stay at this hotel again, it was very clean. Cleanliness is very important to me and they did a very good job. It's actually a pretty fancy place. It's in a convenient spot for the most part, the boardwalk and restaurants are about 11 miles down the freeway but it's a simple drive. Very satisfied!”

• The restaurant and the indoor pool.
• The rooms looked scary! The beds very uncomfortable, It felt like a motel room.

“Horrible beds! The down stairs area looked very nice, the staff was great, but once you got on the elevators, the nice was over! It felt like I was in a motel, not a 2 1/2 star hotel. The decor was bad. It really needs to be updated. Our room had water leak stains on the wall and dirty sheets on the bed. They were doing construction on part of the hotel and the noise woke us up before day break! I wish I would have known this before I reserved this hotel room. We hated it!”

“This hotel was old and dirty. Bugs in the room. They are under renovation but should have done these 20 years ago. I was very disappointed in the star level. Should be a 2 until the renovations are complete.”

“Going through renovations, but no signs of work being done. It's on a pretty dark part of the road, so expect that. Another thing was that we couldn't adjust the room temperature and we asked for toiletries we'd forgotten but never got them. Positives: has an indoor/outdoor pool, clean rooms and bathrooms, and the staff was friendly.”

“We were told upon check in that there had been a stay over and there were no more rooms with king sized beds available. My husband is very tall and his feet hang off the end of queen sized beds. After explaining this and asking if there were any other options we were offered a smoking room. We are not smokers. The room reeked of smoke as expected, but at least my husband was able to sleep comfortably. We were offered complimentary breakfast from the buffet as a consolation. The food was awful, but the service was good. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations so that could have been part of the problem, but overall it was a disappointing experience.”

“The room was tiny with only one double bed (not big enough for 2 people) and it was a smoking room. Someone had removed the hairdryer from the bathroom so we had to request another one be brought to the room.”

• The front desk clerk was friendly and professional.
• This hotel is dark, dank, dirty, scary, and in dire need of a remodel. The covers were stinky.

“This hotel needs remodeling. Its hallways are dark and the rooms smell very badly. The bedding and covers are old and smell disgusting. Our room overlooked the atrium which was very loud. If I had been alone, I would not have been terrified to stay here. Had it been earlier and my family was not exhausted-- I would have walked out and found other accommodations. This hotels condition is a shame to the Holiday Inn chain.”

• Very helpful desk clerk. Went out of her way to help me find a notary public on Sunday. Beyond the call of duty.
• Dirty walls, Stairwells. Obvious condom in front entryway for hours.

“This establishment is well overdue for the $4 million remodeling the sign in the lobby heralds. Very dated decor and dirty walls at every turn. The "slowest elevator I have ever experienced" convinced me that it never left the floor on which I boarded it. Green bananas ripened on the ride to the fourth floor. Bless the desk staff's hearts for staying upbeat in such a dismal facility.”

• The king bed with couch which created a second bed.
• The bathroom was horrible. The shower head did not adjust and the toilet was broke.

• Hotel common areas very warm and humid due to indoor pool.

“The hotel is close to the airport and major interstate travel for easy use around the Shreveport area. Bathroom was not as cleaned as well on subsequent nights as it was on the first day (coffee pot not emptied, floors not cleaned). The staff met each of our simple requests quickly and efficiently. Overall, the hotel needs updating (rooms are dated), but I'm sure that is a corporate decision and not under local control. We enjoyed our visit and would stay there again.”

• The indoor/outdoor pool looked very nice and inviting.
• The room had poor air conditioning, and a very must smell. Yuck!

“This Holiday Inn had been renovated, but they'd only done the cosmetic things. The musty smell in my room made it hard to sleep. The shower head was all corroded since it didn't get fixed with the renovation.”
