“I was very disgusted with the front desk. I booked for two nights, but decided we would travel in the morning. I called to check in over the phone so that we would be able to get in our room when we arrived in the morning. When I did arrive, they said that a room was not available yet and that it would be a smoking room. They finally, gave me another room.” Aug 12, 2009 by
Philip from Des Moines, IA
“I called the hotel right after making the reservation online and asked the clerk to change our room to one with 2 beds. When I got there, our room was a king room and all of the rooms with 2 beds were taken. So, with 2 adults and a child, we were given a rollaway bed to use. They said we could move into a SMOKING suite the following night. Thinking this was an upgrade to a room with 2 beds, we accepted. I wish we wouldn't have. It only had one bed and a hide a bed. At 10:30, we opened the hide a bed and discovered it was broken. Since the hotel was out of rollaway, they borrowed one from the hotel next door and delivered it to our room at 12:15am. My 8 year old son was feeling sick from being so tired by this time. The Comfort Inn in Mankato has gone downhill in my book. I'd suggest staying in the Fairfield right next door.” Aug 8, 2009 by

“Staff was very helpful and hotel was clean and quite.” Jun 14, 2009 by
Charlene from Crofton,NE “They put us in a smoking room first and then they moved us to a non smoking which was much better. The guy at the front desk told us we could have got the room cheaper if I had called direct, by the looks of the bill we could have saved $10.00.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Annalynn C. from Crystal, MN
“Good value.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Michelle from Oakdale, MN
“This place was terrible, the smell was awful, the manager said he didn't even have spray to help the problem, the bathroom was unsanitary. It smelled like cigarettes were used as air freshener!” Aug 17, 2008 by
James from Coon Rapids, MN
“The location was pretty good. It was close to restaurants and shopping. The pool was nice for small kids. The continental breakfast was nice and good quality. I would stay there again.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Judy from Morris, MN
“Ok.” Aug 5, 2008 by

“It was ok. Staff was very friendly. Room was in rough shape and smelly.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Sandy from Wonewoc, WY
“I found cig butts on the floor when I was checking under the bed for clothing or whatever, so not to leave anything in the room. For a nonsmoker I have such a sensitive nose, I can't say I would stay there again and the pool was very small.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Sandy from Estherville, IA
“This hotel was clean and in a good location. Convenient. However, pets are allowed and patrons left them unattended. So dogs barked and yipped non stop starting very early in morning. Also, a traveling baseball team was staying there. The kids were pretty well behaved, but the adult with them were loud. Party with alcohol and room doors open - could hear them clear down the hall until all hours. Not the kind of influence you'd want around kids or in a family hotel. Hotel management did nothing.” Jun 18, 2008 by

“ They need to take into consideration that there are guest without children that would like some down time away from the rowdiness of children who are not following pool rules even though parents were present. The breakfast was good though. ” May 15, 2008 by
Lela from Carmel, IN
“The hotel would be good for business travel. The walls seem to be thin. We could hear the conversation in the next room to us, and upstairs it seems someone kept running back and forth on the floor. This went on up until 11:30 p.m. Matt at the front desk was accommodating in getting them to quiet down. Although it took 3 times.” May 14, 2008 by
Tamara from Brainerd, MN
“It was a fantastic place to stay and I would stay there again.” May 8, 2008 by
Mary from Elizabethtown, PA
“This is a very friendly, warm and well kept facility. Everyone is willing to answer questions or help. The room was always cleaned promptly and the pool and hot tub areas were well cared for. I enjoyed my stay very much. I have stayed at this hotel 4 out of the 5 trips I have made to Minnesota in the last 5 years.” May 7, 2008 by
Jason from St Paul, MN
“It's a smaller property, just two floors. The pool and the breakfast area are small, as is lobby, although each area is presentable and clean. Stairways at each end of the motel appeared that they had not been vacuumed in quite some time. We arrived right at check-in, with only two other cars in the parking lot, so it's not likely that the crumbs, rocks, and dirt littering the steps were tracked in from newly arriving guests. I didn't see any way upstairs to our room from the lobby. Entering our room, I was pleased to not be overcome with any scent other than that of what was likely 409 or glass cleaner. In the morning, checking to make sure that we didn't leave any belongings behind, I noticed that there was much debris underneath the dust cover around the bottom of the bed. Not just tiny crumbs, but a bobby pin, pieces of crackers, scraps of paper. But for the price I paid for the room--on a Saturday--it made it easy to overlook these downfalls. And where cleanliness really matters, such as the sheets, the bathroom floor, the toilet, and the bathtub--this property receives high marks. No hairs from previous guests anywhere in the tub or sink. The waffle-enhanced continental breakfast went smoothly, and the attendant kept up on keeping the area clean throughout the time it took for us to finish breakfast. She periodically wiped up waffle batter spills, checked the levels of each juice selection, and restocked the plastic-ware, napkins, and condiments. I would stay at this motel again, although the owners could improve the appearance by taking a competent vacuum through the stairwells and along the edges of the furniture in the room.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Stacey from Oakdale, MN
“Modest accommodations with friendly hotel staff. Clean, inexpensive, and an average continental breakfast. My goal was to just have a safe inexpensive place to sleep, and this hotel provided that well.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Barb from Angora, MN
“This is a very convenient, clean place to stay. The staff was eager to please and serve. Internet connection was easy. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Lori from Saint Peter, MN
“Hotel was very accommodating for the price we paid. It was great to have a clean room with a whirlpool and an indoor pool to relax in after a long trip back from South Dakota. Hotel is in a very good location next to Riverhills Mall.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Rebecca from Auburn, IN
“The accommodations were fine and the staff was friendly. They were doing their yearly carpet cleaning while we were there but it wasn't too much bother for us. The pool was also being cleaned but it was a good time of year for that (March) and no one seemed to be too inconvenienced. Nice stay.” Nov 22, 2007 by
Myrene from Enderlin, ND
“It was a very nice motel. The desk person on duty on Sunday morning was super. The hot water for the tea was lukewarm.” Nov 13, 2007 by
Mary from Lakefield, MN
“The staff was friendly in person but not at all over the phone. Breakfast area is really not big enough. Rooms were clean but not very comfortable. Was hard to get comfortable temperature set.” Nov 1, 2007 by
Irene from Dell Rapids, SD
“This is a lovely hotel with a nice pool & hot tub area. Comfortable spacious room and beds. Average continental breakfast.” Sep 7, 2007 by
Karen from Bloomington, IL
“Our room had a overpowering smell that was either musty or of standing water in the air conditioner. The girl at the desk was helpful and sprayed the room with freshener. However, there was not another room available to transfer too. One man at the desk when I went was complaining about a broken toilet that had yet to be fixed for three days. Maybe this was the cause of the smell.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Dianne from St. Cloud, MN
“I thought the hotel was fine. I did not like, however, the noise coming from the hallway and the upstairs room. Children running around at all hours of the night making a lot of noise. But it was changed, and I ended up with the right room. I would suggest calling the hotel to make sure they have the right room for you.” Apr 25, 2007 by
Richard from Pewaukee, WI
“Great place to stay.” Apr 11, 2007 by

“The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was a clean, bright and inviting environment in the rooms and lobby.” Oct 23, 2005 by
Bethany from Fairmont, MN
“Overall this hotel was in a great location. Friendly staff and the rooms were nice and updated. Very close to the shopping mall, could walk there if you wanted. It has a pool and hot tub so I would say it's kid friendly. Just wished it would have had a treadmill or something and not have to drive somewhere. They had a option to drive to a health club for free. Just not convenient.” Oct 1, 2005 by
Hartrvig from Bemidji, MN

“Comfortable beds, good service. Wireless service was a little shaky at times, especailly in room far from lobby.Good continental breaksfast. And coffee 24/7 in the lobby.” Jun 11, 2005 by
Mark from Shawnee, KS
“I was quite pleased with the hotel. For an economy choice in a small market; it exceeded my expectations! Would highly recommend!” May 23, 2005 by
Kim from Fairmont, MN
“The staff was great. The security was lacking a little. There was a door in the back that would not shut tight when someone came in or went out and you could just pull it open without swiping a key card. I thought that everything else was ok.” Oct 5, 2004 by
Marion V. from Hull, IA “Our only concern was that the room was listed as non-smoking but it smelled deeply like smoke.”
