• The first room was the size of a shoe box and had to be changed.

“It was fine, as far as the La Quinta goes. The office help was not attentive and did not understand why I should have a room larger than the one originally issued. It was the size of a shoe box and had a double bed only. They did make the change but did not like to.”

• We visited several hotels this trip and we were very pleased with this one.
• There was a piece of food behind the toilet in one of our rooms, otherwise the room was alright.

“The original rooms were incorrect, we were booked in handicapped rooms with 1 double, and we had booked for 2 queens for 3 in one room and 4 in another. Everything was fixed immediately was happy with our visit.”

• The lady who was the service person at the continental breakfast.

“The hotel was reasonably priced, provided professional service and clean rooms. It is what I expect when I pay for a hotel room. The staff was excellent; they were very nice, attentive and helpful when needed. The staff made the experience a pleasure.”

• We liked that it was very clean, there was a vent in the bathroom, and the wireless hi speed Internet.
• It was a little inconvenient that they only offered wireless Internet I had to go to the front desk for an adapter kit.

“Overall a very comfortable place to stay with a great outdoor pool and clean, spacious rooms. The free breakfast in the mornings was filling and fun (homemade waffles!). We try to stay here every time we come to Texarkana, which is at least twice a year.”

• Location was our main concern. It was easy access to interstate and where we needed to be in Texarkana.
• There was something "growing" behind the toilet in the bathroom.

“All in all the hotel was acceptable. Location was a priority for us and this was perfect. Upon late check-in the clerks were very friendly. The next morning the breakfast bar was very pleasing. Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.”

• Was told breakfast was from 7 am until 10 am. It was cleared away by 9:30 am.

• Quite, clean.
• First, room was smoking, Room stunk. After negotiations, clerk allowed change to non-smoking.

“The hotel was excellent. At first, clerk said no other rooms were available. So we handed in key. Only after much pushing, clerk did say she had non-smoking room. Had the hotel not found a non-smoking room, we would have left.”

• The Solid Concrete Blocks in Lot were too high for bumper of car.

“The hotel itself was fine but the 6 foot long blocks in some of the parking spaces were high and scraped the front end of the bumper on my Infinity automobile.”

• I liked the fact that the rooms were all inside of the building. The remodeling was nice and neat.
• My wake up call did not go off in the morning. I am not sure why but the management would not give me any discount for my inconvenience.

“I like the hotel and the location. The receptionist was very friendly. I would have liked the management to give me a discount for the inconvenience that I had do to the wake up call not coming through to my room.”

• The hotel was old and run down. Dirty doesn't begin to describe!

“The hotel has a great location, however the carpet is pulling away from the walls there were carpet stains everywhere, nothing in the hallways had been wiped down, the comforters hadn't been replaced sine the early eights. It took a good two hours for the ac to even begin to cool the room. I was excited to get a hotel and not a motel for this price but I would have been in better company at a super 8.”

“The room we first were given had sagging mildewed ceilings. The smoke alarm was laying on the end table. They gave us another room which had hair in the bathtub. It was certainly not a two star. In fact I would not give it one.”

• Busy receptionist personally made sure my room was really ready since that area was experiencing construction renovation
• 4 stories and one elevator kind of slows things down

“Well laid out clean rooms, friendly staff, clean attractive pool, good breakfast (particularly liked the make-them-yourself fresh waffles) and fairly easy access with traffic light to the hotel lots, and the coffee to make in your room was Folger's brand, not some off-brand.”

• When the remodeling is completed, perhaps it will be nice.
• The place is in a total state of "remodel". It is not a place I enjoyed being. I was not able to get a non-smoking room, and the room was very worn

“This hotel is receiving a remodel which, hopefully will be nice when it is completed, but in my opinion they should not be trying to have guests and remodel at the same time. it is a mess, and I feel that the staff is a little weary and unfriendly because they are so "torn up". The location is convenient.”

• Odd moldy smell in room that a/c did not help

“1st time to stay at Baymont. I've always thought they looked good from the outside, and so did this one.But the hotel was going through remodelling and was in major disrepair--carpets, wallpaper, bath toilet seat. While I understand the disrepair, my first impression was not favorable and I probably won't stay at another Baymont.”

“The desks and furniture were shabby and worn.The sink stopper did not work. The tub was not real clean. I would probably not choose this particular hotel again if I had a choice.”

“When they installed wireless it worked for me one day and I stayed there for 11 days. I called tech service several times but they could not get me on it. The previous times I have used priceline for my flight or motels I have been very satisfied but not this time.The furniture in room was old and scratched up, one of the lamp shades was torn and I could not get NBC on their cable TV. The box springs under the mattress had big stains on them--it looked like blood but I don't for sure. ”

• The lady at the front desk was very helpful
• Very low water pressure. Had to run in circles to take a shower!

“Nice hotel with a very good staff. They need to work on that water pressure thing, because it was extremly low. To say that is was low is like calling a whale a gold fish. It was realllllly low. Overall the stay, like all of mine in the past, was very good.”

• I could see it from the highway as I came into town-very convenient and it was near a restaurant

“This hotel was great to stay at. It was very convenient to get to. All of the staff were very helpful--if I asked a question and they didn't know the answer--they found someone that did. There were restaurants and shopping near by. It was easy to get back on the road again the next morning.”

• It is classified as 2 star however I felt it looks like and presents as a 1 star.

“It is an old hotel which has not been kept up very well. The shower was poor, the room tacky looking and breakfast served too late for early risers. I felt it did not live up to a 2 star classification. I base my comparisons on several other hotels in the exact area as we stay there frequently.”

• Price for the Quality of Room, Convenience
• The Shower worked very poorly. Unable to get a moderate temperature and good pressure. Water was either scalding or cold.

“I liked this hotel a lot until I took a shower the next morning. The bad shower experience knocked my experience from about a 9 down to a 5.On question #5 of this survey, I was asked to rate my overall experience of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I wasn't aware that it was an Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was just a regular Baymont. The front desk staff was very friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and the room was pretty clean. I'm a pretty hard critic on this though. I never think showers are clean enough and I did detect some mold stains.”

“Hotel is getting older. Not as well maintained as could be. Slightly odd smell due to mixing smoking and non-smoking rooms together on same floor. Not a terrible place, but nothing special. Not a 3 star; more of a 1 1/2 to 2 star.”
