• The hotel was very clean but was not a 3 star hotel. It's old.

“It appeared to be a very nice hotel when it opened nearly 15 years ago but it needs a renovation. However, for the price that I paid, I was very pleased with the hotel.”

“Staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Everyone was friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. Room was very clean and comfortable.No moody desk clerks at all for 2 whole days.”

• We were stuck in the room the majority of our stay.. the room was comfortable.
• That hotel was over run by a convention. The staff/hotel was overbooked and not equipped to handle the crowd.

“The hotel was hosting some type of convention for spanish speaking Johova's Witness guest. They were packing some rooms up to 8-10 guests. the toilets and sinks were backing up. It would take up to 20min to access the over crowded elevators. The sauna has been out of order for a very long time. The hot tub was shut down due to damage that was caused by over crowding kids and the staffs inability to monitor the occupancy limits. The pool water was too cloudy to attempt swimming. The outdoor sitting area was dirty. I politely let the staff know that the overcrowding was resulting in other guests being rude and irratable. The staff didn't have a solution. The hotel was too over crowded to enjoy the lobby or restraunt/lounge area. We booked the room on the last leg of our vacation to relax before I headed back to work. We literally stayed in our room 90% of the 2days our room was reserved.”

• Very nice hotel with beautiful atrium.
• The parking was terrible. You had to park across the street in a parking garage.

“Everything was great about the actual hotel, but the parking situation for me as a single lady was dangerous. Parking in a parking deck at night and having to walk through a deserted stairwell and across a busy avenue at night was not safe. They should do something either about parking or security for this issue, because there was no security in the parking deck area or outside the hotel.”

• Everything was perfect. Super place to stay.
• Nothing.

“This hotel is as good as or even better than you would find in Chicago or NY. I was so surprised when I walked in it took my breath away. I never thought Fort Smith Arkansas has this type of hotel available.”

• The price was excellent for a 3-star facility.
• It was older and a bit worn. The indoor waterfall had a very strong chlorine smell.

“This hotel was in an excellent downtown location next to the convention center. Customer service was very good.
Would definitely stay here again.”

• The bed.
• Elevators/parking/smelled.

“Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We were on the ninth floor and the elevator only went to the ninth floor when it wanted to. So you could stand there and wait 20 min. or take the stairs the last floor. The room stunk. The parking was horrendous. I am a single lady and had to walk by myself at night blocks to park. They did not offer any kind of shuttle or escort. Just told me where not to park or they would tow us, and did see several cars get towed.

“This hotel was accommodating to our requests, had a friendly front desk staff, comfortable bed and descent bathrooms. The waterfall that opens up to the restaurant and rooms was a nice touch.”

• Noisy open to water feature, also given handicapped room - hated shower - parking was really bad.

“The hotel was fine - the parking was terrible but offered valet service - no access to car once it's parked - hard when you work out of car - put in handicapped room - shower in possible to use - had to use handheld - not relaxing.”

• The beds were lined with good sheets, doubled over blanket top and bottom. Lots of pillows. Pretty lobby.
• Children and parents talking loudly outside our door running and laughing.

“For the same price of 50.00 it was worth it. Pretty lobby, with waterfall open atrium. A little dated room but great beds. Bathroom fixtures worn but clean.”

• The rooms had plenty of space and the fitness and pool areas were nice.
• There is virtually no parking for the size of the hotel.

“If you plan to stay here, expect to walk. There is no parking, but the rooms and staff was absolutely lovely. It is also very quiet in the rooms.”

“This was a wonderful place for us to stay as we were visiting family. A nice, comfy bed with a great pool and hot tub for relaxing at the end of the day. Will definitely try to stay here next time we are in town!”

• Had trouble getting the cleaning service to come to the room.

“Beautiful hotel. Had a wonderful pool, hot tub, workout, and spa area. Conveniently located near a great park, shopping, and restaurants. Most of the staff was very friendly, except the cleaning staff. My complaint was that we were there 3 days and our cleaning service only came in our room once on our last day there (after we complained), and when they finally came, they were very unfriendly. We had to go down to the front desk several times to request towels needed for the day.”

• The cleanliness was bad! Hairballs in bathroom, crud on the carpet, wet towels!

“This hotel has the potential to be a great place IF. They improve the entrance exterior (no plants, tired looking) and the biggest issue was a room that was not cleaned properly.”

“Beautiful lobby, good location. Overall, clean. Sofa in my room had several tears and worn spots. Not something I would have in even a fishing cabin on the lake. Despite the bar being full, it closed early because of "lack of business". Parking was very inconvenient. Price was reasonable.”

• Room service was very good and employees were friendly.
• Checkout was showing as available but not working. Had to stop at front desk.

“Overall this hotel was nice. The rooms were clean, offered all the amenities that I would need an comfortable. Location was close to most events but far enough away so that you did not have to contend with a lot of traffic. Enjoyed my stay.”

• Room and facilities were excellent.
• Short of staff. When we arrived there was only one person on duty at the front desk.

“Overall, a good experience. The staff really tries to do a good job, but they seem very short staffed. The bellmen don't seem to be around and if you valet park, be prepared for a long wait for your car (over 20 minutes). Having said all of that, if you can survive without a lot of staff around, the hotel is excellent.”

• Clerk at checking was least concerned with my early morning arrival approx. 6:30 am, made to wait while checking out guest! She needs another profession!

“Wasn't there for more than 4.5 hrs. Stopped there only to sleep several hours, room too bright (couldn't draw curtains) had to cover head with blankets to darken room.”

• Hot tub was dirty and lukewarm.

“The Holiday Inn is a nice very large hotel. We enjoyed our stay except for a trip to the hot tub which was dirty and lukewarm. Small children were playing in it and the smell was awful. Our room was nice except for a large stain on one of the couch cushions. We got a free USA Today paper at our door in the morning. I would stay there again.”

• Parking was very limited.

“Clean with helpful employees. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Room was large and comfortable. Parking was very limited but a lounge and restaurant on site made up for it.”

• The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is connected to the convention center where our function was held.

“Overall a very, very pleasant experience. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and will recommend to others in the future. Very helpful staff, willing to go above and beyond for their guests. We did not have a chance to experience the pool, but the facility appeared to be well kept and safe.”

“Each day I had to ask at the desk to get a small bottle of shampoo. I expected a 3 star would provide it, so did not bring mine. Also, impossible to get on computer as so many truck drivers! The pool area was full of kids and families that were having birthday parties, and the water was dirty when I finally got to use it.”

“Everything was fine, but television was VERY cheap. Also, the cleaning crew must have been 'on strike' since there was a taco salad (in a shell) outside a nearby room's door for almost one solid 24hr period before it was removed!”

• The bed was comfortable. The indoor pool was nice. The elevator was nice.
• The room was too light. The curtains wouldn't close. They took the buffet food away before we were finished.

• Nine story motel. Not enough elevators. Always had to wait. Bathroom needed renovated. Leak above shower head.

• Terrible parking. Scary.

“They said it is under renovation. It needs to be updated and cleaned up. The parking was very minimal and if spots in front were filled, you had to park in a scary, dark parking garage across the street. My key never worked. I would get all the way to the 5th floor, walk to my room and it didn't work. I'd go back down, they'd reactivate and the same thing would happen. I had to get 7 different cards.”

• There was no way for the elevators to be central to most of the rooms.

“The hotel was quiet and nice. It was a little uncomfortable it you didn't care for heights to be able to look out over the "courtyard" from six stories up. But all in all it was very nice.”

• The staff was friendly.
• They were in the middle of remodeling and facilities were closed i.e. pool, sauna.

“This hotel was disappointing. I was expecting something more modern and with amenities that were actually operational. The pool, Jacuzzi and sauna were all closed and the hotel room was cheaply renovated. However I would not rate this a 3-Star hotel.”
