• Parking was very limited.

“Clean with helpful employees. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Room was large and comfortable. Parking was very limited but a lounge and restaurant on site made up for it.”

• The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is connected to the convention center where our function was held.

“Overall a very, very pleasant experience. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and will recommend to others in the future. Very helpful staff, willing to go above and beyond for their guests. We did not have a chance to experience the pool, but the facility appeared to be well kept and safe.”

“Each day I had to ask at the desk to get a small bottle of shampoo. I expected a 3 star would provide it, so did not bring mine. Also, impossible to get on computer as so many truck drivers! The pool area was full of kids and families that were having birthday parties, and the water was dirty when I finally got to use it.”

“Everything was fine, but television was VERY cheap. Also, the cleaning crew must have been 'on strike' since there was a taco salad (in a shell) outside a nearby room's door for almost one solid 24hr period before it was removed!”

“This hotel is old- room looked to be about 20 years old. Windows and mirrors were dirty. There was old cheese on the floor of my room! Shower head spit water- not stream of hot water as you would expect.”

• The bed was comfortable. The indoor pool was nice. The elevator was nice.
• The room was too light. The curtains wouldn't close. They took the buffet food away before we were finished.

“It is an old, but very nice hotel. The indoor pool is nice-if you like to swim. The beds were very good-which is a big plus in my book!”

• Very close to town.
• Nine story motel. Not enough elevators. Always had to wait. Bathroom needed renovated. Leak above shower head.

“This is a very nice hotel for business or leisure. It is in a historic part of town with antique shops, old brick buildings and yet is next door to a newly constructed convention center. It is definitely a 4 star.”

• Terrible parking. Scary.

“They said it is under renovation. It needs to be updated and cleaned up. The parking was very minimal and if spots in front were filled, you had to park in a scary, dark parking garage across the street. My key never worked. I would get all the way to the 5th floor, walk to my room and it didn't work. I'd go back down, they'd reactivate and the same thing would happen. I had to get 7 different cards.”

• It was quiet and restful.
• There was no way for the elevators to be central to most of the rooms.

“The hotel was quiet and nice. It was a little uncomfortable it you didn't care for heights to be able to look out over the "courtyard" from six stories up. But all in all it was very nice.”

• The staff was friendly.
• They were in the middle of remodeling and facilities were closed i.e. pool, sauna.

“This hotel was disappointing. I was expecting something more modern and with amenities that were actually operational. The pool, Jacuzzi and sauna were all closed and the hotel room was cheaply renovated. However I would not rate this a 3-Star hotel.”

• New bed linen was nice. New shampoo and soap was nice.
• The maid service was not good- they did not make up either one of our rooms. The bathroom only had shampoo and soap, no lotion or mouthwash.

“Great location, but not a 3 star hotel. No perks in the bathroom, just soap and shampoo. They do not have real half and half for the coffee in the room or the restaurant. Only choice is the "fake stuff". Maid service was not good; they did not come back to our room after their first knock at the door.”

• Feel like you're staying in an upscale hotel.
• Limited parking.

“Check in was quick and easy and so was check out. When attempting to check out via the TV service, I rec'd an error, so I had to go by the front desk. You can call to check out, but I didn't think of that at the time. Appears to be limited parking. During the weekends there is free parking across the street in a parking garage. But, I thought I heard the clerk say it's free on the weekends. Whether you pay or not to park across the street, I wouldn't park anywhere other than the first row on ground level. The way the garage is constructed if you park any where else your car is hidden from view. I thought it would be ideal for a thief. Our room was clean and suited us fine, but we were dead tired when we arrived. The hotel restaurant closes at 10pm, but when we went down to dine there just before 9 pm, we were told it would be a 45-minute to 1-hour wait because they did not have enough staff. There were only 2 or 3 tables occupied at the time. So, we left the hotel and dined elsewhere. We did not try the restaurant for breakfast the next day, because I thought the prices were a little high for what you got. The local paper is part of your charges, so it will be waiting at your door in the morning. That's nice since the husband (me) needs something to do while waiting on the wife to get ready. Overall, I would stay there again, but if I were staying during the week I would call the hotel to ask about parking first. There are few other hotels close by and if they have free parking all the time, I might try them instead.”

• I can't think of anything I didn't like.

“We would stay at the holiday Inn ft smith again. The staff was very helpful when we had questions about things to do in ft smith and the rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is in the final stages of renovation, and the hallways had clutter all over the carpeting. We did have to maneuver around a lot of things when taking our luggage to our room. All in all it was a perfectly great stay.”

“Nice hotel undergoing some refurbishments. There is no gift shop with typical needed items and there are no shops nearby. This is a good generic hotel with a full service restaurant and room service albeit with limited hours. The beds are very comfortable and the cable service gets most of the major networks.”

• The coffee at the restaurant was the worst coffee I ever tasted. I think the creams were soured.

• We were given a jr. Suite, which was really nice.
• The room service forgot our drinks, and our salad dressing, but they did bring them up to us. The food was good.

“We thought the hotel was very nice. They gave us a jr. Suite. It was great. The breakfast buffet was fresh and tasty. We enjoyed our stay.”

“The hotel was undergoing renovation; the common areas were hot and stuffy, but a/c in rooms was fine. Rooms are small, with no fridge or microwave. Pre-renovation rooms had mildew in the bathrooms and broken fixtures.”

• The lobby waterfall was lovely. The staff was polite and helpful.

“While we were there, they were renovating the hotel. It was still a very nice place to stay. The indoor pool and spa were nice. Especially since it would have been too cold to swim outside. Everyone who worked there was very courteous and helpful. I would stay there again.”

• Three towels, one shampoo, for three people, no hair drier.

“Currently being remodeled. The updating of this hotel and the addition of the Marriott next door are helping revive this part of town. On our approach to the hotel, we were concerned when we saw the tattoo parlors and bail bond offices, but we were told that FSPD and hotel security are working to keep the area safe (not that there were ever any significant safety issues in ft. Smith anyway). Hope the area will benefit from the re-gentrification of this hotel and the new Marriot, in addition to added security measures. We'd stay there again.”

• Very nice hotel. Located right in the heart of downtown.
• If was not close to the interstate (which made it somewhat inconvenient).

“This hotel is top notch. They are in the process of remodeling, but it was worth the small hassle. If you are traveling cross country, please note that this hotel is approx 5 miles off of INT 40.”

“Even though the location was close to what I needed, being in the downtown area was very noisy. Clubs with live bands played until 2:00 a.m. It likes sleeping or I should say not sleeping next to a disco with the thumping all night.”

• People were very welcoming.
• No room service from Friday to Sunday when we checked out. Really a big deal when you have no clean towels, no cups for coffee maker, etc.

“They are upgrading rooms, but they started with smoking rooms, why? Those people will only burn holes, stink up the room, etc. Next time I will definitely call the lobby to request that my room is cleaned. We did go by the front office and request towels. We explained that we had not received room service that day and that we had been gone from our room 8 AM to 4 PM. What a disappointment!”

“This was a mess dirty room. One towel and wash cloth for 2 people is not a cheap way to go. Dog treats left over from person before was not appreciated. Lack vacuuming or just lazy I don't know but glass in foot two days in a row was not real easy to overcome. Left over cork screw left over from the party before. This is a poor excuse for a holiday inn. We have stayed at several in the past but this one was the worst by far. This one would not even give us a check out receipt.”

• The staffs are fabulous.
• The carpet looks greasy (it's old).

“I loved my stay because the staffs were fabulous in a caring, attentive, professional manner. The rooms were clean. I had to change rooms because of a fear of heights and the staffs were wonderful. I am a filmmaker and I've told everyone I know how great they treated me.”
