“Nice hotel, easy to get to and around the downtown KC area. I was happy to get two double beds, so thanks!” Aug 20, 2008 by
Kendra from Emporia, KS
“The overall cleanliness and appearance of the motel was great. The parking garage was free or if you would like you can do valet parking.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Jessi from Jefferson City, MO
“This hotel was nice enough. It was older and the room was not as plush as you would think a 4 star hotel would be. It was nice and we enjoyed our stay.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Gena from Belle Plaine, KS
“The Good: Beautiful lobby, wonderful Westin bed, two luggage racks, powerful detached blow dryer, spacious bath tub, and luxurious linens. The Bad: Staff forgot to serve me my room service. Rooms in need of new carpet and needs TV upgrade. Area around hotel feels insecure. Parking lot could not accommodate the height of our F-250 so we had to park really far away.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Sally from Manhattan, KS
“For the price, the hotel was good. The rooms need some updating. The on duty staff claimed there were no other rooms, but I find it hard to believe that we were the last people to check in on that day. The location is good though.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Martha from Ft Riley KS
“They gave us twin beds instead of a king. The amenities were very minimal. No vending, no free internet and the internet that is provided is very expensive. The room wasn't all that clean, the bathroom had smudges all over the walls and doors. No real balcony (blocked off) but beautiful view. The mini bar was a joke. It was an old ratty mini fridge with some junk food stocked. There was a used water bottle in the freezer. There was no microwave! The entertainment package on the TV was unimpressive. And pay channels were outrageous. I was very disappointed in my experience there. Not worth a 4 star rating.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Rhiannon from Springfield, MO
“It was a very nice hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean and nicely decorated room.” Aug 18, 2008 by
John from Bentonville, AR
“Overall the stay was good. The parking was an additional $13.50 per night.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Amy from Trenton, MO
“First I would like to say that I am not one to leave negative feedback, but I really feel that I have to in this instance. Please note this is a 4 star hotel, stating they have a "heavenly bed" in every room that you will leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Our room was in the corner which was fine and very roomy, and then I noticed the bed folded out of the wall! Ok, that was fine as long as it was comfortable, it was not. Let's just say we did not wake up feeling "refreshed and relaxed". It was horrible; I have never been so uncomfortable in my life! So the next morning, my husband went and talked to the front desk. Basically they said it was all they had and to deal with it. No apology, no offer of anything to make us comfortable, nothing. As much as I liked the Westin Crown Center, I am not sure I will return.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Chuck K. from Minnesota City, MN
“They would not move me from this room. I stay at Hyatt's, Wyndhams, Hiltons and usually find Westins very nice.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Ernest from Schofield, WI
“I was told at check in that I would have a room with only a Murphy fold down bed. Upon requesting to speak to a manager, I was upgraded to a handicap room. I am very dissatisfied.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Mike from Boulder, CO
“It was overall a nice place. The hotel is actually connected to a little mall with restaurants and what not, so it was nice to have to kill some time. The pool was pretty nice, but mainly outdoor, not really an all season pool. Also, they charge $5 to use any of the workout equipment. The furnishings of the rooms weren't a nice as they could have been for a 4 star, but it was still nice. I would stay there again.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Diane from Wichita, KS
“Enjoyed our stay. Very nice hotel.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Quentin from La Porte, IN
“Only after 20 minutes explaining the medical emergency causing us to be late, and a line of people behind us to check in, were we told that an upgrade room was available that would suit our needs.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Kevin from Omaha, NE
“We got there and found out when we arrived that the parking was an extra charge. After moving the vehicle, we went to our rooms. The refrigerator was locked because they store liquor in it, so we had to call and get someone up to our room to unlock it. Then, the phones weren't working. They were making a buzzing noise that anyone could've heard if they had stayed in the room. Also, there was a charge for everything. Phone calls, to use the exercise equipment, to park, etc. It seemed like we had to ask every time we did something if there was a charge for it. Not the way I wanted to spend an Anniversary.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Ryan from Plymouth, MN
“It was a nice hotel but it was not up to Westin standards. It is kind of difficult to get places when it is crowded, but for a family it would be a good place to stay, or someone here on business.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Julie from Omaha, NE
“Westin Crown Center was a very relaxing place to stay at the center of many fun things to do. You can walk just about anywhere!” Aug 13, 2008 by
Tyler from Wichita, KS
“Very nice hotel, very good location if you have kids because its connected to a mall.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Matt from Eden Prairie, MN
“This hotel room was not good.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Tasha from Rock Rapids, IA
“Friendly people. Nice environment.” Aug 12, 2008 by
James from Oak Grove, MO
“Overall experience was excellent. Nice upscale hotel.” Aug 12, 2008 by
K S. from Russell, KS
“A blast.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Kim from Olathe, KS
“We had a great stay. Our experience was very enjoyable. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms were nice, newly decorated and clean. We spent the day at their nice pool. It was clean and well maintained. The hotel is close to a popular entertainment district and we were able to take a quick taxi ride there and back. It was a great location for a getaway weekend.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Ashley from Topeka, KS
“Did not even come close to my expectation of a 4 star hotel. I've stayed in two stars that were nicer.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Winkie from Hutchinson, KS
“The entire staff at the hotel was most accommodating from directions to places to assistance. The kids really enjoyed the water falls and pool. The beds were heavenly to sleep in - better than home! It's where I will stay next time I'm in Kansas City!” Aug 5, 2008 by
Kelli from St. Louis, MO
“The hotel was convenient and sported a massive waterfall near the lobby. Impressive! The staff was moderately helpful. However, I called ahead to see if we could bring our 6-pound dog and they said yes. But they forgot to mention that we could not leave the dog in the room if we were not there. Maybe that's common sense. But when we asked if there was a kennel around nearby since we were leaving for a baseball game in an hour, the guy at the desk simply said, I don't know. Here's the dog form. Kind of frustrating. But the view from our room was nice. It all worked out in the end. We found a kennel on our own.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Paul from Wichita, KS
“When we asked if a king bed was available; without even looking said no. The clerk was not rude, perhaps a little snobbish. We did not allow this to affect our stay. We had a pleasant stay and would stay again.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Clara from Westside, IA
“Very nice, good food, lots to see and do. Handy location, loved the show at the Heartland Theater.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Nancy from Garden City, KS
“Clean. Comfortable. Staff accommodating without questions. Very noisy with children crying in next room and someone knocking on door during night. Long line at checkout.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Hzm from Marshfield, MO
“Overall, we were really pleased with our experience at Westin Crown Center. The location was great for us because it was near many places we went during our stay. Our room was clean & the housekeeping staff was great about refreshing our room each day.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Julie from Iowa City, IA
“The hotel location is great for getting to any KC attractions, easy access to interstate and public transportation. Catch the bus to a Royals game right in front of hotel! Many good restaurants within walking distance. Hotel service was not great, however. Many light bulbs out in the room, we requested an extra towel and it never came - I just grabbed one off the maid's cart instead. The concierge was very busy one night and so people were helping themselves to the concierge's computer and menu books, etc. behind the desk. You might want to ask if they are hosting a convention before you go, as it will be hard to get a drink at the bar if so. Otherwise, a nice stay, but not up to Westin standards.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Courtney from Taylor, MO
“Very nice staff. They had signs that they were in the process of refreshing, but I didn't notice construction. Pool area looked nice an most rooms seems to have a great view. Was clean and comfortable, with all night room service.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Greg from Manhattan, KS
“The staff was helpful and accommodating. Decor and woodwork is starting to show its age. In the 70's or 80's this hotel was probably top of the line. The hotel is in a good location relative to crown center and union station but I think in general the hotel is over hyped. Some extra decorative pillows on the bed and fancy bed covering and softer carpet is about all that separates this hotel from the rest. My experience is that a four star hotel just means I'll be charged for every little extra that are complimentary at hotels that are rated at a lower star level; parking and internet access come to mind. Although we didn't take the minibar key at check-in, the minibar was missing from our room.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Brandon from Lees Summit, MO
“Overall, my experience was great. The staff was nice and helpful. The room had a great view. It was around a lot of things to do and see. The bed was fantastic, very comfortable! Definitely worth a visit. However, be warned that they do charge you for parking. I even ask to get the parking validated and where to parking. They told me there was no need for that, then I received a parking fee of $13.50 for using their parking lot/garage.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Marilyn from Orlando, FL
“Pleasant, helpful, efficient staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Perfect for a good night sleep.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Jj from Manhattan, KS
“This hotel was a great place to stay with small kids. The attached mall provided close distractions and the pool area was roped between depth changes.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Heidi from Boone, IA
“We had a great stay. The location was perfect for our needs at the Union Station and the Country Club Plaza. We loved how quiet it was in the hallway and in our room. Our room overlooked the pool which was a bonus!” Jul 25, 2008 by
Chelia from Wichita, KS
“The hotel was very comfortable and the shopping attached to the hotel was a nice escape. The staff left much to me desired. The girl working the front desk at 3 AM for my check in was wonderful! However, unhelpful the rest of the morning staff was not.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Sharon from Hastings, NE
“Close to many locations.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Samuel C. from Saint Robert, MO
“It is a great hotel.” Jul 19, 2008 by
Julie from Fenton, MO
“Great location. Ceiling was chipping, noisy light in the bathroom, we requested robes and they weren't delivered. Big window with great view of the WWW I memorial.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Jill from Omaha, NE
“We did not get the bottle of champagne, a family member had sent to the room. Our room bed was uncomfortable and folded down from the wall! No headboard-it was like college.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Doug from Lincoln, NE
“Needs a complete makeover has same furniture and amenities from 1972 when I honeymooned there.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Michele from Woodstock, GA
“What a gorgeous hotel! From the moment I stepped into the lobby I knew it was going to be a great stay. The lobby was beautiful and the front-desk staff was perfectly professional and efficient. We parked easily in a well-lit parking garage and took the elevator up to our room. After a long day of travel we were thrilled to have such a lovely room and luxurious bed. The only disappointment was that we were only staying for one night and had to leave early the next morning. Luckily, we slept very well and hope to purchase a similar bed now that we are home.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Angela from Waukee, IA
“We had a great time at the Westin. Hope we can stay again soon.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Beth from Cheyenne, WY
“Good location, connected to a mall, do not use the phone in the room to call anyone or anywhere.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Brandon from Pittsburg, KS
“Nice place for business travelers or those who do not mind getting charged for every little detail. This is KC not NYC but the Westin thought it was time to nickel and dime everywhere. They charged for parking, bottled water, roll-away beds and even to use the Gym. It is attached to Crown Center which is nice but not much else is within easy walking distance. I would not recommend this hotel for the price versus other terrific hotels. I have stayed at in the KC area.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Rick from Sigourney, IA
“A good location close to downtown on main street. Good sized rooms with good business services provided.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Richard from Columbia, MO
“Satisfactory but less than I expected for 4 star hotel. Sliding door to balcony broken, wouldn't open or close; door to TV cabinet wouldn't stay open. Charged $13.50 for parking. Bottled water $3.75. Carpet in hallways ragged, cut in several places.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Jessie from Adel, IA
“Great location. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Access to most without leaving the hotel & skywalk system. Hotel was clean, every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Our only gripes were minor: we were given a room with a wheelchair accessible shower. We found it impossible to shower without water running all over the bathroom floor each time. Because we'd already settled into the room before discovering the shower facilities, we didn't ask to be moved. The other minor thing was that our in room coffee maker was broken, we called the front desk and shortly after a staff member brought a different coffee maker with more coffee. This coffee maker was also broken but I didn't have the energy or desire to wait for that one to be replaced, also. Overall, we had a great experience and would return.” Hotel Representatives:
