• It was close to Crown Center and other Kansas City Attractions.
• A little seedy for the price. Room was dated.

“I was excited when I won the Westin Crown Center from Name My Own Price. I was a little skeptical but am fairly easy to please. We got there and parking was easy. There were a million kids evidentially visiting the Crown Center ice skating rink.”

• The room was upto Westin standards and was wonderful.
• The TV did not work but was promptly fixed.

“This is a great hotel for couples, families or the business traveler. Connected to the hotel are the crown center shops that are great to stroll around. Since our stay was during the holidays the hotel and shops were perfectly decorated and the ice skating rink is available.”

• I think that a 4 star hotel should have fitted sheets for beds.

• Rooms clean, updated and comfortable.

“The dogs took away from the ambiance-very smelly and elevators smelled bad after riding after a dog had been in there. On the plus side, never heard any barking and the dogs were kept on certain floors. Other than that, we had a fabulous stay and enjoyed ourselves.”

• The beds were fabulous.
• You had to pay for parking. Also it was very hard to get to your rooms from the parking garage. There were different elevators you had to take.

“This a wonderful hotel if you like shopping and nightlife. I suggest using the valet parking service. It was very hard to navigate from the parking garage to get to the elevator that takes you to where the rooms are. You also better prepare to pay for parking. The room was nice. Was woken up early with loud music from an event going on in the city. But all in all it was a beautiful hotel.”

• Courteous staff; great location for marathon.
• Misunderstanding with parking.

“This hotel met all expectations. The staff was friendly and, with the exception of parking, good at explaining things. The rooms were comfortable and were equipped with refrigerators - very handy. It is located near enough to any business and shopping district and not too far away from the North Kansas City to make it an excellent location for any traveler's needs.”

• Very nice rooms and very friendly staff.

“For as nice as a hotel as it is and its location we were expecting the rooms to be a little more updated. Nonetheless, they were nice and clean. The only complaint we have is that we did not put the do not disturb tag on the door, and the cleaning staff knocked on the door at 8am asking what time we were leaving so they could clean.”

• The bed was very comfortable.
• Parking was a nightmare and hotel was pretty dated.

“We were under the impression that this was a 4 star hotel. I went out of our way to stay here and it ended up being a horrible decision. The rooms were very dated and the bathroom was no better. Maybe I had my expectations up a little too high, but I have been to some hotels that were 2-3 stars that were way nicer than this.”

• Very comfortable beds!
• Nice hotels seem to make you pay for everything: parking, internet, breakfast.

“Everything was very nice. My only complaint is that I had to pay for parking, internet use, and breakfast. Next time I will probably go for fewer stars in order to get more for my money. In other words, it is not the best value when you have to keep shelling out for things included in most rates.”

• Was beautiful.

“Was beautiful, reasonable and in a great location for K.C. attractions. Very friendly. Room clean. I was frustrated by using their phone to get the front desk. They had "service express" on the phone, not front desk. I tried several times...got busy signal. Then I used another button, "reservations" hoping would get to the desk...but it took me outside the United States to a central reservation place. Then found out on the bill I was charged for the call. Little thing, but phone could have better directions. Overall, a wonderful experience.”

• We loved the view and the waterfall in the lobby.
• The beds we small and we had to pay for parking.

“We loved our view of down town. The staff was very friendly. The shops were neat. Me and my husband slept in separate beds because the beds were small. We had to pay 15.00 a night for parking. Overall we liked the hotel and would stay there again.”

• Double beds too small, front desk moved us to a much nicer king room (cheerfully!).
• Pool was a bit cold in August & not free of leaves, debris. Salt pool system (not my fav). Steam room smelled musty.

“The hotel is excellent and runs very smoothly. It seems to be a wonderful place for conventions, families, and all sorts of travelers. For the price we booked it on Priceline, I will definitely be trying to get it again on our next trip.”

• The beds were very comfortable.

  was bad
  - no vending machines - dirty cups in room.

“Hotel was attractive and nice but the service was horrible all around. When we walked into our room there were Sonic fast food cups in the room. They said that housekeeping must have just forgotten to throw them away. There were no vending machines and it cost $2 for a can of Pepsi, diet Pepsi, or sierra mist at the front desk. We ordered bottled waters from room service and they never arrived. The Brasserie restaurant in the hotel sat us in the lobby for 20 minutes with no service. Watched bartender give my water glass to another person. Ordering drinks from the bar took forever.”

“We wanted to book a hotel closer to the airport but ended up booking at this location. It was a little further away than we wanted, but our pleasant stay more than made up for it. The room was beyond comfortable, very roomy & spacious. The comfort of the bedding was beyond belief. I certainly did not want to get out of bed the next morning! I loved the scent of the White Tea tolietries provided-very nice. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I would certainly book here again.”

• Remodeled rooms, comfortable king-sized bed.
• Information on hotel was not available in room. No vending machines anywhere in hotel.

“The hotel overall is nice. I have no complaints about the room or the lobby, etc. The pool seems dated and I was surprised there was no indoor pool at all. They charged a fee to use the exercise equipment which I found outrageous. If I pay for the room I shouldn't have to pay to use a treadmill. I received virtually no information on the hotel either in my room or from the desk clerk at check in. I was left wondering when the pool hours were and where the vending was located. I later found out there is no vending area available which I found odd. The room was very clean and very comfortable. We had a nice view of the pool and the 4th of July fireworks display in the park next door. The bathroom was very clean and modern looking. All were a big plus for us.”

• Location was wonderful for site seeing. Great selection of restaurants. Liked the pool area.

“Hotel was in a great central location for site-seeing or business in downtown. We felt very safe in the hotel and walking outside. Pool was smaller than it looked in the pictures - but we were told it was considered big for KC according to other guests. I was traveling with a 11-year old and it was fantastic having the hotel connected to the Crown Center shopping and restaurants - it gave us lots of choices for quick meals.”

• The lobby is very calming and inviting.
• No fan in the bathroom.

“My family and I were most happy with this hotel because of its location. We were attending a ceremony at the Liberty Memorial (across the street) and it was very convenient. Our room was clean and quiet, and the beds were supremely comfortable! On the down side, there was no fan in the bathroom, and the room was quite humid after three showers. On the up side, we met with friends in the lobby, and found the soft piano music and chair groupings were perfect for conversation.”

• Location is very convenient, accessible, adequate parking space.
• Bathroom arrangement did not meet our expectations.

“Shower flooring is slightly elevated which creates a lot of mess from water flowing from the shower after taking a bath and also a risk for slips and falls. I can't help but worry every time my wife uses the shower.”

• Hotel was very attractive, lots of shops, and very friendly staff.
• No other food vending, except for room service/restaurant.

“This hotel was above our expectations,very clean and attractive,very reasonable parking fee. Hotel was full of shops to look at. We unfortunately did not use pool area but did have pool view and looked very nice and well kept. We had a wonderful stay at the Westin!”

• The beds were fabulous.
• The maid service knocking on the door before 8:00 am.

“The rooms were nice, but with construction on the floor above, starting before 9:00 am and after 6:30 pm and the maid service wanting to make up the rooms before 8:00 am, relaxing was not an option. Also beware of the mad taxi drivers; they will drive all around town like they don't know where you want to go to raise the fare.”

• The pool, sauna, steamroom, locker room, and workout facilities were excellent.
• The hotel should not charge guests to use the workout facilities.

“The Westin Crown Center was great. Staff was friendly, the hotel was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the shopping area attached to the hotel was very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Kansas City.”

• Strange no elevator to hotel on the same floor as shopping-either have to go up or down stairs. Have to pay to workout.

• We had an awesome view from our room on the 11th floor of the freedom torch and the city.
• It was a little noisy. We could hear everyone coming and going both at night and in the morning.

“It was convenient to downtown and the Crown Plaza shopping. The room was nice and the bed was comfy. A bit of a walk from the parking garage.”

• Attractive room.
• Dead bugs in room, pricey parking and circuitous parking.

“I think my room was very nice but the placement of the television was poor and the bed's comfort was only average. It was tough to negotiate from the parking garage to my room. The room had dead bugs in it. I was not told the parking garage would charge so much each day ($13.50). The hallway rugs were dated and filthy.”

“This hotel was nice but failed to live up to my expectations of a 4-star rating. I felt it to be pretty much the same as many 3-star hotels. The room was nice but not overly roomy. The lady at the front desk treated me nice. It was cool that the hotel was attached to a quite a few shops and the Metro link was cool. We were a little disappointed in Union Station though.”
