“It was OK for our one night anniversary celebration. Room was clean. Bathroom was cold because of location of heating system. There was no refrigerator or microwave in this king size suite. Complimentary tea was missing.”

  • The first night was very clean.
  • The second night, the room stunk. At first the night manager said she couldn't do anything about moving us, eventually got moved.

“We sat at the hotel bar for 20 minutes while one bartender served others and the manager watched. The room was very clean but smelled like sewer the second night, the room we got moved to smelled like smoke. They should have a shuttle to the stadium. There were no discounts on breakfast or other meals or drink tickets, or free wireless. Those are usually included in hotels with this reputation.”

  • Staff was great - dealt with the issue below very well.
  • The room we had smelled badly of smoke even though the entire hotel was non-smoking. The staff upgraded us to a great room promptly.

“Had they not had another room it would certainly have been a problem since theer was no way we were going to stay in that room. Again, staff was great and our final room fantastic. The room service food was VERY good.”

  • Easy access from elevator to room.

“Everyone is friendly. I am handicapped the door man helped me and the luggage up to our room while my husband parked the car. Also they were very helpful with directions around the city. A very good place to stay.”

  • Parking is huge pain, adjoining room was terribly noisy, noisy AC.

“The room was great recently updated great bed and HD TV. I did not like the idea of having to pay for internet access. This is a must for business travelers and should be part of the room rate. It should also be mentioned in the review that there are additional charges and what they will be.”

  • Paint scheme in room was attractive; nice decor feel.
  • Lobby was a complete mess as major renovation was underway.

“This is a business oriented hotel that at the time of our late May 2009 visit was in the midst of major lobby renovations. The hotel had no restaurant in operation and meals were served in the coffee shop. The food was good although a bit on the pricey side. The room was clean and attractively decorated . The large LCD TV was a nice touch.”

“When you check in at 2 am, you expect the bell hop to bring your bags up right away and not have to park the vehicle first and have the guests waiting half hour for their bags. Even worse, without an apology.”

“Better security in desperately needed in the parking garage, and from the garage to the elevator going from the garage to the lobby. The hotel has potential. The employees seem friendly enough. And their remodeling is a necessary and long overdue inconvenience. But, guests should be forewarned before making reservations.”

  • Convenience to the Plaza.
  • Noisy rooms, could not get robes after management left for the day.

“Great location near the Plaza, but is currently undergoing much needed renovation so bar was at a deli counter. Could not get robes late in the evening, front desk said they were locked up after management went home for the day. Expect much better service from a full service Marriott. Windows need soundproofing, police cars and ambulances on the next busy street kept me awake until 4:30 AM.”

  • We were upgraded and the room was gorgeous/huge.
  • Nothing.

“This hotel is very convenient to the Country Club Plaza. It is undergoing a complete renovation (nearly finished while we were there). The view from our room was of the Plaza and was spectacular. The room was very comfortable, luxurious, quiet. The staff was very accommodating. The gentleman who checked us in upgraded our room (his idea). Nice!”

  • The towel rack in the tub area, my wife and I both banged our heads while entering the bath under the far end of the shower curtain.

  • Rooms had large flat screen TV with local hd.
  • Public areas were under renovation.

“The rooms are beautiful and the beds comfortable. The hotel was under renovation so that public areas were a mess and there was only a skeleton crew working the desk. Maid service was spotty. I had a partially made bed one day.”

  • the bed was comfy but thats all i liked!!
  • room small,pool ice cold,no fridge,no children channels on tv, no fan in bathroom,no seating in room,hotel is falling apart!

“I will NEVER stay here again! Not kid friendly, pool was like ice, hot tub was almost empty and sprayed you in the face, the walls were literally crumbling, the hotel smelled like sewer everywhere, separate elevators for different floors, Internet didn’t work, parking was really small, it was close to a really bad neighborhood, no shuttle to crown center as I was told, overall I hated it and I’m pretty laid back!! No fridge even holiday inn has that.

  • Accommodating staff that helped us pick (and change) the best room for our family (5).

“The hotel staff was very accommodating when we arrived (late). They made recommendations on different kinds of rooms. We initially chose one that faced the lights of the plaza (for the kids) but when we realized the room was too small for the 5 of us, they got us a new room with two double beds and sheets/blankets for our air mattress in minutes. Very friendly.”

“The hotel was nice, clean and very inviting. The lack or unavailability of a roll away in our situation led one person in our group to sleep on the floor. Additional blankets and pillows were provided. Floor near window very cold and drafty. Not a pleasant night sleep.”

  • Staff went out of their way to be helpful. You don't see that a lot any more.
  • Last time I stayed parking was free, this time they charged $7.00 per day.

“Overall, hotel and staff were great. My husband left his cell phone charger. I called on Tuesday they located it and are putting it in the mail. Other than having to pay for parking this time, I'd go back again.”

  • Fantastic, clean and crisp bedding!

“The room was clean. The bedding was great - crisp and clean linens, plenty of pillows and none of those nasty beds cover. I got hooked on the body and bath hair products that were in the room - that's the only shampoo and conditioner I used then. Not right on the Plaza, but within a short walk from it. There was a free shuttle bus that takes guests to and from the Plaza. Great place.”
