• Balcony with beach view, comfy beds, clean, next door to rainforest cafe.
• No working vending machines, no 2nd entrance or exit.

• Beautiful room with balcony overlooking pool with ocean view.
• Elevators were warm and
  air conditioning did not seem to be working.

“Great hotel for either a short or extended stay. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms and grounds were very well kept. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends when visiting Galveston.”

• Rooms were very clean and staff was very professional.

“Hurricane Ike has been very devastating to Galveston and the surrounding communities. The Hilton has done a great job restoring the hotel. Our balcony room was decorated very nice and extremely clean. The staff was exceptional nice and very professional.”

• Room was very nice.
• Rooms were not sound proofed well enough. I was constantly awakened by people walking down the hall and talking.

“Very nice facilities. Very nice room. However, I was awakened all night by the next door neighbors with a squeaky bed, and by people walking up and down the halls just talking. Sound proofing needs to be improved very much. Not a very restful experience because of that.”

• The location which is across from the ocean and the pool area.
• Dirty bathroom floor, too early of check out and too late of check in!

“I liked my stay here at the Hilton in Galveston, especially being across from the ocean and the pool area was very nice. What I did not like was having to be checked out by 11 am and not able to check in till 4 pm - that is less then 20 hours you have to spend in your room! But most of all what was not acceptable was the tile area in the bathroom and dressing area was sticky, which tells me that they have not mopped/cleaned the floor recently - this was a big turn off for me being the clean nut that I am.”

• The bedding was so comfortable and the bath accessories were high quality - shampoo, conditioner, etc. E. Crabtree brand.
• Breakfast was not that good.

• The room was clean and we were able to check in an hour early. The beds were comfortable and we were able to walk to the beach and restaurants.
• They do not offer free wireless internet. You have to pay $9.95. I think there are less expensive hotels that have free wireless!

“Overall, it was a great hotel. My kids loved the pool and our room was comfortable and clean. My family was able to walk to IHOP for breakfast or across the street to the beach. All of the hotel employees were courteous and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.”

• Remodeled rooms are beautiful.
• Noisy air conditioner kept me awake, hope it is fixed now.

“We stayed in an ocean view room that was very fresh and clean. The hotel has been remodeled and is quite attractive. Free internet is provided downstairs. The pool and whirlpool is beautiful with a swim up bar. I saw many families enjoying the pool all day and night. The staff has been very friendly and accommodating. Our air conditioner was cooling, but making a lot of noise. The staff came immediately in to fix it. This hotel is conveniently located across from the beach and within walking distance of some nice restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Friendly staff from the moment I pulled up to the valet parking!
• Very busy hotel must be patient when you call the front desk for anything, It will eventually come!

“The breakfast buffet was worth the price, the rooms were great, the service was great, and the pool was great. Oh, don't be impatient for your drinks at the swim up bar- they are not staffed well out there! BYOB is the way to go! So go for the sun, the pool and the pool side music, you will wait too long for your drinks; other than that. Best time you can find in Galveston. You are right across from an excellent spot on the beach too! Restaurants within walking distance (great restaurants)!”

• The hotel service across the board was not good.

“The hotel was nice. We were not fortunate enough to stay on a floor that was remodeled. It was somewhat dated and needed to be remodeled. The hotel location on the seawall was excellent. My kids and I had a nice stay.”

• Restaurant was horrible-bad service, bad food, downstairs reeks of smoke.

“The hotel looks nice and has a great view of the gulf. The night we checked in we found what looked like poop on our bed, our A/C unit also went out in the evening but was quickly fixed. The restaurant was horrible, the staff was unruly and uneducated on the menu and the food was not tasty at all. The downstairs reeked of cigarette smoke which did not appeal to us non-smokers. I would stay again but not dare venture to the restaurant area.”

• The porter, Craig, was outstanding in his helpfulness and friendliness.
• The AC did not maintain a steady temperature; front desk girl was not very friendly.

• The secure feelings about the place, I came and went at early hours and felt it was a safe atmosphere.
• I had a little plumbing problem with the shower, but it finally worked out.

• I liked the new style of the hotel and the rooms were very cozy yet modern. Bed was superior to most and bathroom superior to most.
• Did have some renovation going on and a little troublesome.

• The view of the Gulf (as they called it, the Ocean) was excellent.
• The walk from the lobby to the elevator was very long.

“The location was on the seawall in Galveston. You would want to be on the higher floors. If you don't want to rise early, be sure to close the curtains. But the morning view is great. The was spacious for two, but I don't know if a family of four or five would be comfortable for several days. I would however recommend this Hotel.”

• The hotel itself was horrible along with the rude staff.

“I will never stay here again. From the second I walked up to the front counter the receptionist was completely rude. She acted as though she as doing me a favor by looking up my reservation. And when I asked if I could change my room, her response was "you can't change it. Only I can." I couldn't believe it. The room was the equivalent to an old La Quinta Inn. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!”

• The aesthetics, the staff, the location.
• We asked for smoking room, but given non smoking.

“The hotel was gorgeous, as was the views from our balcony. Enjoyed being able to walk across the street to the beach, and a few short steps to Landry's, Ihop, RainTree Forest and Kroger's. The staff everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We loved our time there.”

• Beautiful remodeled rooms, very friendly staff!
• Extremely loud through the entire night. Wild and rowdy guests!

“The hotel was very nice and was upscale. The remodeled room I stayed in was very nice! Great pool and facilities. Was very disappointed overall though because it was extremely loud. I could hear loud guests in the rooms around me on their balconies screaming and partying. Guests could be heard through the front door talking loudly. And I smelled cigarette smoke from the next room or the hall. I felt as if the floors around me were booked with parties, not overnight respectable guests!”

• The location on the seawall is great.
• Hotel had construction noise from being remodeled.

“This Hilton is part of a franchise owned by the person who has the Landry's seafood restaurants. It has a nice location on the seawall and room was comfortable except air conditioner did not work well. Fitness center leaves a lot to be desired. Bartender makes good drinks though.”

“Our stay was disappointing. I'm not sure if we were just given a bad room or if they are all that way, but we could hear every word spoken by everyone that passed by our room. We could smell cigarette smoke strongly and we were in a non-smoking room. The bathroom floor had hair and mold. I would not give this hotel a three star status.”

“When we were first assigned to our room, we were very displeased with it. The room overlooked a parking lot with construction taking place. The room was dirty and not up to our expectations. We requested an upgrade from the desk clerk to a room that did not overlook construction. When we pressed the issue of the construction that was obviously taking place, and the fact that the hotel was not even near capacity, we were moved to a room that was comparable to the first. We were more satisfied with this room, however, there was construction taking place during our stay.”

• Was able to have a nice view of the beach each morning. Wonderful!
• My room's heater/AC was a bit noisy. Could not get internet in the lobby area.

“This hotel was clean, and the wait staff was friendly, and the location was excellent, there was plenty of safe parking for my luxury SUV. A great experience.”

• First room was very poor quality and old. They put me in another room and it was ok.
