• Have stayed here before and enjoyed it. Took our 9 yr old grandson and he really liked the childrens activities.
• Front desk was not real efficient.

“We really enjoyed the pool and the Friday night entertainment outdoors. Band was excellent and made it a fun evening for our 9 yr old grandson. It was nice they did not forget the kids in the audience, while the adults relaxed with a drink. Grilled food was available for all”

• From the moment I got there, I was treated like Royality and so was my child. The valet attendent didn't need to be called upon, he was waiting on me.,
• The color and design of the comforters could use some updating.

• The resort pools and other activities for kids.
• Rooms could be updated.

“The hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are comfortable but could use an update. The grounds and activities available for families are wonderful. The hotel's facility is great for young kids!”

• The pool was awesome!
• Wish there would have been a balcony.

• The food at Sheen's restaurant was expensive, but good.
• The facility showed signs of deferred maintenance since the last time I visited.

“If you are expecting a four star hotel, please don't consider Moody Gardens. It is perhaps three stars at most. The property needs to be updated, painted, remodeled and cleaned. It has not been improved since it opened 10 years ago and the wear is apparent. The waterpark next door was loud and annoying and obscured the view from our hotel room, which cost more than it should have. Moody Gardens is not a good value.”

• Hotel is in tropical settings, great kids activities.
• Food at their only restaurant. It's like eating cafeteria food for a five star restaurant prices.

“Hotel food was way over priced and so bad the second day we left to eat in town. Hotel itself is great for kids, heated swimming pool and activities for them. Staff is under trained for a four star hotel.”

• Staff was friendly, room had a great view!
• Apparently there are different luggage carts for guests and hops.

“We checked in on Friday evening with no problems. The staff was very nice. We had a beautiful room with a great view of Moody Gardens. We had breakfast twice at the Terrace restaurant. The breakfast buffet had a very good selection and stayed open later than posted closing time. Again, the wait staff was very friendly even though the hosts always seemed to be having a hard time seating us. We had a great time and the heated pool was fun too. The only thing that bothered me, and this was very minor, was on checkout day. The hotel has about 10 luggage carts however half of these can only be used by hops. So on checkout day there were no carts to be found. I rode down with a guest who had a cart and waited with his family while he went to get his car. After he loaded his luggage, I asked him for his cart and he said that I could have it. As I started to leave another guest ripped it from my hands! He claimed the concierge said that he could have the next one. My problem was mostly with this guest but maybe things should be more organized especially during checkout time.”

• The bed was very comfortable.
• The night desk staff member was unfriendly.

“We arrived at 12am and that morning the TV in our room burned and the tub was clogged. A friend who was staying in another room was given the wrong room number and woke up a man staying in that room. The next day, the front desk staff tried to charge her for a tour she did not order. I have no plans to stay at moody gardens again.”

• Children activities.
• Friendliness hard to find and the food was terrible.

“The hotel itself was very nice but the rooms were not what we expected. The hotel staff as a whole was not friendly and the service in the restaurants was simply terrible.”

• Lots of activities nearby (i.e. aquarium); computer room.
• Commode was difficult to flush.

“We had a very nice time at moody gardens hotel. We swam in the indoor pool, played with the large outdoor chess set, went to the aquarium at moody gardens next door.”

• Great location. I was impressed with their front desk. It has a new York feel to it - and I don't mean it as a compliment.
• Service. Poor indoor pool.

“Overall a good hotel. I was not impressed with the 'new York' style of the hotel. For being a Texas hotel, I expected friendlier service. The folks weren't mean, just weren't friendly.”

• The room we stayed has a view of the gulf. Great!
• We asked if we can stay another night with the same rate and the request was declined when the occupancy rate is very low.

“It's a nice hotel with great location and clean environment. Great for kids with an indoor pool. The spa closed too early. Didn't eat at the restaurant.”

• There were lots of things to do within walking distance.

“We were very impresses with this hotel. Actually, my husband and I enjoyed our stay so much that we are thinking of making this an annual tradition at Christmas. The decorations and "Festival of Lights" were a wonderful way to start the Holidays.”
