“Very clean, convenient, quiet, updated, comfortable beds.” Jan 30, 2009 by
Leonora from Shreveport,LA
“The staff was so nice and courteous. The room was very clean, and even smelled nice. The TV was great. The beds were very comfortable, and the location was quiet.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Frederick from Port Arthur, TX
“This is my worst experience with a reputable hotel as such. The room was lacking cleanliness throughout. We noticed a roach crawling on the microwave. The carpet and floor area appeared as if it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The bath tub needed resurfacing and a good cleaning. We had to go out and purchase shower shoes to access the shower and kept them on while walking on the floor/carpet. The towels were dirty and worn looking. Housekeeping only replenished towels and made the beds every other day. We were disturbed at 4am by a stray dog barking and scratching at our door. The dog continued to disturb us throughout the morning. We notified the staff and they proceeded to call animal control to get rid of it. The smell of marijuana dominated the air as we walked to and from our vehicle. In closing, overall experience was horrible and definitely not worth the price.” May 30, 2008 by
Jim from Baytown, TX
“It is good. Don't expect a lot--its clean and the beds are comfortable -- just an old property that needs a total redo.” May 7, 2008 by
Justin from Killeen, TX
“Hotel was great however the people working there didn't have a clue to what was going on, I was actually checked out on Saturday. I came back and my room keys didn't work. I then had to go get keys again and listen to there explanation on how they didn't check me in the night before.” May 5, 2008 by
Habib from Weston, MA
“This is definitely not a 2 star hotel. The bathroom had not been cleaned, there were bugs in the room, linen was dirty and the room had an odor. It was about mid-night when I checked in otherwise I would have walked away. I am extremely disappointed.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Gary from Buna, TX
“The first night the beds were so hard, we doubled all the covers trying to make a pad, we slept about an hour in all. The second night, (after moving) we were in front of the pool, where people partied to almost midnight. The signs said no in that area after 10 pm. We called the desk at 10:44; the party ended an hour and 16 mins later. If you just want to watch TV or have a party, it's great, but if you need to rest or sleep, goes somewhere else.” Feb 10, 2008 by
Steven from Bulverde, TX
“Horrible do not stay avoid at all costs.” Jan 30, 2008 by
Adrienne from Laurel, MS
“We asked for a non-smoking room, but the room had a strong odor of cigarettes. Otherwise, the room was adequate.” Nov 27, 2007 by
Sam from Lyon, MS
“The room doors are open to outside air. Poor choice for family with kids, for those who need two connected rooms or when it is raining.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Patty from Winnie, TX
“When getting from place to place been involves a quick overnight stay, this is a great stop. Easy check in and check out, fair price and clean. Be sure to check price difference between 2 doubles vs. one king - the price changes.” Sep 20, 2007 by
Shirley from Austin, TX
“We have stayed at this hotel frequently and it is in an excellent location but it is slowly going down hill. The desk clerks were the worst I've ever encountered.” Sep 19, 2007 by
Kathy from Houston, TX
“Good for maybe 40.00 like an apt that was re-worked. Motel 6 like.” Jul 25, 2007 by
Jody from Arlington, TX
“The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Check in was fast and our room was waiting with the air conditioning already turned on. The breakfast was a little above average for a 2-star hotel. The hotel access is difficult because of the one way freeway access road in the front and no back exit onto other roads.” May 27, 2007 by
Jim from Shelbyville, TX
“Economical, yet very well-maintained and clean. Staff was very helpful.” Apr 26, 2007 by
Karen from Lufkin, TX
“The TV would not come on and I felt like I had to pull teeth to get another room. The room they put us in had some electrical problems. Several outlets didn't work. The coffee maker/hairdryer unit was not working. There were lights we could not use. I also called ahead and asked if our softball families could be put together. The desk clerk didn't seem to know what I was talking about.” Feb 22, 2007 by
Larry from Waco, TX
“The hotel staff promised us a king sized bed when I called them up; but they did not give us one and we had to pay extra to get one.” Jan 22, 2007 by
Whoever from Keller, TX
“Chipped paint & stained walls. Didn¿t fix lock for 2 days after telling them twice. Heating & water usage was not available. Never gave explanation 4 it. I'd drop this hotel from your inventory.” Jun 7, 2006 by
Adam from Groves, TX
“Convenient location but an older property. A little worn and in need of a refresh. Room was clean though. OK place to stay if you're just looking for a safe place with a bed. Has a pool. Staff was friendly. I stay at a lot of hotels and would rate this as a 2-star, no better.” Jun 5, 2006 by
Shari from Round Rock, TX
“I would not stay here again. I travel a lot. This hotel does not deserve a 2*. It was musty and old.” May 24, 2006 by
Eddie from Woodway, TX
“The two beds were comfortable. The air conditioner worked well. It had a continental breakfast, not bad, but not the best. I did not check out the pool. The staff was helpful and polite. The whole place appeared to be clean.” May 11, 2006 by
April from Saint Louis, MO
“Good quality for price.” May 6, 2006 by
John from San Antonio, TX
“The motel was very clean and convenient, but, was not worth the money that I paid” Apr 20, 2006 by
Michelle from Hattiesburg, MS
“I liked the hotel and in the beginning the staff was very nice and helpful. I always take a can of Lysol with me when I travel, but I found the hotel to be very clean. I even slept well the two nights of my stay. ” Apr 17, 2006 by
Jessica from West Monroe, LA
“The hotel is good for a two star hotel. The staff were not very friendly. The pool is very clean and there were not very many people at all at the hotel.” Mar 26, 2006 by
Julie from Lake Charles, LA
“The staff at this hotel was friendly. Did not like the outside doors to room and we found a dead roach on our towel.” Mar 6, 2006 by
Geoffrey from Austin, TX
“Good motel for an overnight stay on the road. Recent conversion from La Quinta makes the Baymont a better facility than it was. Meanwhile, the old Baymont is being renovated by La Quinta, should result in better accommodations in Baytown. Good to see corporate investment in this community.” Jan 14, 2006 by
Mark from Rowlett, TX
“Our room smelled terrible and the carpet seemed a bit wet/sticky. The hotel is in end of updating and thorough cleaning.” Sep 22, 2005 by
Shirley from Austin, TX
“The hotel was helping out with Katrina evacuees and so I realize things were a little different than usual but the ice machines were constantly empty and they look very old too. There were dog droppings in the parking lot. You really had to be careful where you walk. Rooms were clean. Staff pretty helpful but harried.” Aug 2, 2005 by
Mary from Timpson, TX
“Even though hotel is quite old, it is very well kept. This is the third time I've stayed there in the last 2 months!! Efficient and friendly staff are always willing to meet any need I may have. I will definitely stay there again in the future.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 24, 2005 by

“La Quinta is noted for keeping their "older" hotels up to date and this one is no exception. The carpet, bedding, and bath fixtures were all very nice. Clean and well kept.”
